Drew McIntyre VS Sami Zayn
The return of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event kicked off with Drew McIntyre taking on Sami Zayn! This was alright, it had some decent moments in it, particularly the strength that was shown with both men hitting respective Powerbombs at different stages! Pat McAfee was also back here which is always a big plus, and overall this was a decent start to the show! In the end, it was Drew who picked up the win after nailing Sami with a Claymore!

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan VS Iyo Sky
It was then time for the first Championship match of the night as Liv Morgan put her Women’s World Title on the line against Iyo Sky! This was another fine match with some good moves throughout, Iyo’s dropkick and suicide dive were really good, and the knee that Sky gave to Morgan was absolutely vicious! Amazingly, this match also had a clean finish, but it was Liv who retained her Women’s World Championship after nailing The Genius of the Sky with ObLIVion!

World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther VS Finn Balor VS Damian Priest
It was then Triple Threat time as Gunther looked to retain his World Heavyweight Championship over both Finn Balor and Damian Priest! This was easily the match of the night, it flowed a lot better than all of the others, and all 3 men were on it! Damian Priest dominated proceedings for the most part, but Finn Balor was able to keep himself in the fight with his quick agility! Gunther being the star that he is was able to combat both, but each man had their nearly moment when it came to capturing the World Heavyweight Championship! In the end, though, after a brilliant Powerbomb to Priest onto the steel steps, Gunther delivered another Powerbomb to Finn Balor to pick up his most convincing win in a while!

Women’s United States Championship: Chelsea Green VS Michin
In a moment that’s been a long time in the making, Chelsea Green and Michin went one-on-one to crown the inaugural Women’s United States Champion! This was alright, it was better than a standard television match, and I do firmly believe that both women deserved to be in this spot! Piper Niven also played her part at ringside to try and help Chelsea get the win, but Michin dealt with that by dropping Piper with Eat Defeat! However, back in the ring, Green was able to pull off a really nice counter to transition into the Unpretti-Her to score the win meaning Chelsea Green is the first Women’s United States Champion! Chelsea has been terrific since she came back in January of 2023, so I’m very happy for her!

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes VS Kevin Owens
And in the Main Event of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against his former friend, Kevin Owens! This was such a well-told story heading into this show, but this was not good! Firstly, the first half of the match took place in commercial breaks, and that was honestly a massive problem with this entire show! And secondly, it just didn’t work! There were two separate ref bumps in this match, with the first one costing KO the Title before the second one saw Cody take advantage and drop Owens onto a steel chair with a Cross Rhodes before the first ref counted whilst being outside the ring to gift Rhodes the victory! Why WWE are so against giving different people big Championships is beyond me, and all of this summed up what was a pretty missable night!
