WWE Monday Night Raw Review: 25/11

Damian Priest Interrupts Gunther, American Made VS The LWO: Tornado Tag

Gunther arrived to start this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw as the World Heavyweight Champion was supposed to answer some questions from Jackie Redmond! However, Damian Priest arrived to interrupt all of this before Damian made it clear that Gunther’s only feeling the pressure cause he hasn’t had this kind of a threat challenge him for a Championship before! This angered The Ring General who floored The Archer of Infamy with a clothesline before a brawl broke out which ultimately led to Priest sending Gunther through the announce table with a Razor’s Edge to stand tall! This was another well-delivered promo from Damian Priest, and I think their match on Saturday could be really good!

Bianca Belair was talking to Naomi and Iyo Sky about their potential 5th Member for WarGames before Rhea Ripley walked over to say she doesn’t care as long as they leave Liv Morgan to her! It was then time for the first match of the night as American Made took on The LWO’s Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio in a Tornado Tag Team Match! This was fine, I rate The Creed Brothers very highly, and Julius Creed in particular is an impressive athlete! Still, Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee were able to get plenty of offense in, but in the end, a brilliant bit of interference from Chad Gable led to American Made walking away with a roll-up victory! Finally!

Bron Breakker VS Ludwig Kaiser, The Judgment Day VS The War Raiders: World Tag Team Championships, Alpha Academy VS The New Day

Credit: Wrestlezone

The Judgment Day were hanging out in their Clubhouse before R-Truth walked in after asking for a place to hide! This angered Finn Balor who fired up the rest of his crew before it was time for Bron Breakker to go one-on-one with Ludwig Kaiser! This was a good match I thought, both of these guys are really good, and there were some really good moves involved too! The one bit where Bron went running into the sharp edge of the announce table was absolutely ridiculous, like it looked awful! Just like last week, however, Breakker’s match didn’t end conclusively as Sheamus took out Kaiser to cause the DQ before a massive brawl broke out, resulting in Adam Pearce booking a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series!

The O.G. Bloodline were talking backstage about whether they could trust CM Punk (Jimmy Uso very much seemed to believe they could) before Jey Uso confirmed that he will take on Jacob Fatu in a WarGames Advantage Match this Friday! It was then Championship time as The Judgment Day put their World Tag Team Titles on the line against The War Raiders! This was a decent match, everyone involved is very good, and the crowd were behind Erik and Ivar which is a really good sign that all of this is working! They even got close to winning following War Machine, but Dominik Mysterio arrived to put JD McDonagh’s foot on the rope before more distractions from the rest of The JD led to McDonagh stealing a roll-up victory to retain their Tag Team Championships!

After a great video telling us that The New Day’s 10th Anniversary will be celebrated next week, it was time for some more Tag Team action as The New Day clashed with Alpha Academy! Amazingly, this match lasted about 30 seconds as after Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods argued about which one of them should start the match, Otis wiped them both out, delivered a Caterpillar before Akira Tozawa hit his diving senton to score the win! This was actually insane, I did not see this coming! After the match, The New Day continued to argue which is when we got a terrific bit backstage where Kofi took shots at Xavier for not being good enough to be a Singles Champion whilst Woods took a shot at Kingston for losing to Brock Lesnar in 6 seconds! This was so, so good, probably the best thing New Day have done since KofiMania!

Grade: B (Overall)

After The Miz told The Final Testament he’d seen The Wyatt Sick6, Karrion Kross told Scarlett to stay in the locker room to stay safe! When Kross got back, Scarlett had been completely laid out by Nikki Cross, so this feud is just starting to boil up nicely! Adam Pearce then announced the brand-new Women’s Intercontinental Championship which is very cool (and should be won by either Dakota Kai or Lyra Valkyria) before Solo Sikoa cut another great promo about how he acknowledges his Bloodline over Roman Reigns’!

Nia Jax VS Bianca Belair: Women’s WarGames Advantage Match

Credit: WWE

And in the Main Event, Nia Jax and Bianca Belair collided in order to gain their team the advantage in this weekend’s Women’s WarGames Match! Both Nia and Bianca are talented in-ring competitors that fit the Main Event slot so that worked well, and the in-ring action was good I thought! It was pretty even, maybe Jax had a bit more of an advantage, particularly towards the end when she dropped Belair onto the announce table with a Samoan Drop, but ultimately, it was the interference from Bayley that proved key as The Role Model dropped the WWE Women’s Champion onto the exposed turnbuckle which allowed Bianca Belair to deliver a 450 Splash to get the victory! Honestly, I didn’t like this finish, Nia Jax can’t keep losing, and it also made her look dumb cause why would Nia go anyway near the exposed turnbuckle? Also, it never works when the good guys have the advantage!
