WWE Monday Night Raw Review: 21/10

Seth “Freakin” Rollins Starts the Show, The Authors of Pain VS The New Day: World Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Tournament

Monday Night Raw kicked off this week with Bronson Reed arriving at the arena as he was then jumped from behind by Seth “Freakin” Rollins! Seth then stormed to the ring acting all serious as he called out his rival before Bronson appeared having destroyed all the security guards. The two men then got into a brawl in the ring which Reed won, but after attempting to hit a Tsunami, Rollins got out of the way and The Big Aussie went crashing through the announce table! Amazingly though, Bronson Reed got up almost immediately, but the two men were sent their separate ways! As always, I love serious Seth Rollins, and Bronson Reed’s awesome!

Damage CTRL were in the middle of a backstage interview before Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez interrupted it as they had their own things to say. This set up a Tag Team match for later in the show before we got a video package hyping up the Intercontinental Championship rematch between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker! It was then time for the first match of the night as The New Day and The Authors of Pain clashed in the World Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Tournament! This was a decent match, the action was solid, but the focus was more on the outside action. See, The Miz showed up and started talking with Karrion Kross and Scarlett, but then R-Truth arrived to wipe them both out! This distracted AOP in the ring which allowed Kofi Kingston to sneak away with the roll-up victory, but after the match, The Final Testament quickly swarmed onto Truth. Now, Kofi wanted to help his buddy, but Xavier Woods stopped him which is when The Wyatt Sick6 arrived as they took out, Kross, Scarlett, and AOP! However, the most interesting part for me is after it looked like The Miz was able to be choked out by Uncle Howdy, Paul Ellering pushed Miz out of the way and got locked in the Mandable Claw himself! I didn’t really see any of this coming, but I liked it, it was good and also interesting!

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez VS Damage CTRL, American Made VS The LWO: World Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Tournament

Bronson Reed wanted to speak with Adam Pearce which is when Seth “Freakin” Rollins jumped him again as more security had to separate them! Jey Uso then cut a promo about why he’s going to remain as the Intercontinental Champion before a good video promo from Raquel Rodriguez lead into Raquel teaming up with Liv Morgan to take on Damage CTRL! Raquel Rodriguez was once again the dominant force in this one, particually against Kairi Sane, but Iyo Sky would have the upper hand on Liv Morgan. Obviously, Raquel and Iyo have quite the history, and I was also glad that that was brought up! Meta-Four were also somehow invited back to ringside again, and guess what, Lash Legend punched Iyo Sky which caused the Disqualification before Lash and Jakara Jackson dropped Damage CTRL ahead of their match on NXT tonight! Rhea Ripley then arrived to go after Rodriguez and Morgan, and she had Liv locked in the prism lock until Dominik Mysterio made the save. Ripley then locked in the same submission onto “Dirty” Dom, but Liv repaid the favour as the Heels escaped! This feud has to end come Survivor Series!

Seth “Freakin” Rollins was back as it was his turn to try and talk to Adam Pearce, but guess what, he got jumped by Bronson Reed! This was clearly the last straw for Pearce who kicked both men out of the building, but he did also announce a match between Seth and Bronson at Crown Jewel! The War Raiders then got a video promo before The Judgment Day were chilling in their new Clubhouse! Raquel Rodriguez questioned why Carlito was even in the group, but he said he’d go and get Dominik Mysterio a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship after Dom said he could beat Gunther! It was then time for another match in the World Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Tournament as American Made clashed with The LWO! The LWO clearly wanted to win this tournament as they fielded Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee over Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro, but The Creed Brothers were clearly the more impressive act! However, that didn’t really seem to matter as after Zelina Vega dropped Ivy Nile, Rey Mysterio delivered a 619 and Dragon Lee hit a splash to score the win! I would’ve personally had American Made win here, but fair enough I guess!

Intercontinental Championship: Jey Uso VS Bron Breakker

After a brilliant bit where Carlito got Dominik Mysterio a match with a former World Heavyweight Champion, and Gunther and Damian Priest had an interesting interaction, it was Main Event time as Jey Uso put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against the former Champion, Bron Breakker! This match got a lot of time, it had 2 whole commercial breaks, but the main story is the last 10 minutes! See, after Bron kicked out of a Jey Uso Spear, Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu arrived as Solo claimed he was trying to help his brother! Now, Uso was having none of this as he wiped out both Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, but this is when the best part of the match happened as Solo shoved Jey out of the way and took a nasty Spear from Bron Breakker! Things then got even more interesting as we got a face-off between Breakker and Jacob Fatu, but this all led to Uso delivering 2 Superkicks, a Spear, and an Uso Splash for an amazing near-fall! Like genuinely, I can’t believe Breakker kicked out here! And then, after all that had happened, Jacob Fatu dropped “Main Event” Jey Uso with a Superkick and a Samoan Drop to the announce table before Bron Breakker hit a Spear in the middle of the ring to pick up the win and recapture his Intercontinental Championship! This was honestly really dramatic, and I liked it a lot!
