WWE Monday Night Raw Review: 04/11

Liv Morgan Starts the Show, Women’s World Championship Number 1 Contender’s Battle Royal

Monday Night Raw kicked off this week with Liv Morgan as the Women’s World Champion basked in the glory of her victory at Crown Jewel! Liv said she is clearly the Greatest Women’s Champion of All Time which is when Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill arrived to challenge Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to a Tag Team Match! However, this didn’t happen as Adam Pearce instead announced a Number 1 Contender’s Battle Royal to find out who would face Liv for her Women’s World Championship next! There was a lot of women in this match, but most of the eliminations were pretty simple, with Isla Dawn going out first, and we also had the likes of Zelina Vega and Alba Fyre get eliminated during the ad break! Sonya Deville and Shayna Baszler of Pure Fusion Collective also got dumped out by Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill which left the final 4 to be Belair, Cargill, Iyo Sky, and Lyra Valkyria! Bianca and Jade were very much the dominant force here, but almost got into it themselves. In the end, Liv and Raquel got involved to eliminate both of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions before we got a great scrap between Iyo and Lyra which ultimately resulted in The Genius of the Sky eliminating The Morgen to pick up the victory and advance to take on Liv Morgan!

The New Day VS The War Raiders, Jey Uso Interrupts Sami Zayn, Chad Gable VS Dragon Lee

The New Day weren’t seeing eye to eye on various things backstage before we got a video that showed that The Wyatt Sick6 had kidnapped The Miz! Why are they under contract again? Anyway, it was then time for some Tag Team action as The New Day took on The War Raiders! These two teams have an awful lot of history together so they all had good in-ring chemistry, and as I say every week, I enjoy watching Erik and Ivar do their thing. Also, the whole New Day stuff has been great, and it carried on here as Kofi Kingston was very much rolling until Xavier Woods just tagged himself in. This then went horribly wrong for The New Day as The Raiders hit War Machine to pin Woods for the 3 count!

Sami Zayn was the out next to a massive ovation as Sami spoke a little bit in Arabic before he wanted to address what happened at Crown Jewel. Before Zayn could say anything though, Jey Uso interrupted him to say thank you for having his back on Saturday, but Jey also wanted to know if Sami kicked Roman Reigns in the face on purpose! Again, before Zayn could say anything, Jimmy Uso arrived and he made it very clear that Sami Zayn cannot be trusted which is when Sami fired back with a great point about how it’s Jimmy Uso who’s always taking the first shot when it comes to kicking people right in the head! However, Sami also said that he couldn’t do this again which is why he’s “out”, but Jey then asked Zayn to come to SmackDown on Friday because he was wrong last week, and Sami is in fact Family! This was a really good segment, all three men did a great job of getting over how their characters felt, so yeah, this was really good!

Seth “Freakin” Rollins praised Bronson Reed for bringing one heck of a fight to him at Crown Jewel before Seth said he has his eyes firmly locked on regaining the World Heavyweight Championship! Before that though, Chad Gable made his way down to the ring to go one-on-one with Dragon Lee! This was a fun match, it was very hard-hitting, but it felt like both guys were trying to prove a bit of a point. Some of the bumps Dragon Lee took were also insane, and we all know how brilliant Master Gable is! On the outside, Zelina Vega tried to get involved, but she was choked out by Ivy Nile which is when Rey Mysterio arrived, and his interference ultimately opened the door for Lee to steal the victory!

World Heavyweight Championship Number 1 Contender’s Match: Damian Priest VS Seth “Freakin” Rollins VS Dominik Mysterio VS Sheamus

Credit: Spazio Wrestling

After Gunther said that both him and Ludwig Kaiser need to do better, it was Main Event time as Damian Priest, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sheamus, and Dominik Mysterio clashed for the right to face The Ring General for the World Heavyweight Championship! This was a pretty decent match, everyone in here is very talented, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Damian Priest were probably the two best competitors in this match, but I thought they all did well. Interestingly, Bronson Reed arrived and absolutely destroyed Seth Rollins with a TSUNAMI through the announce table, but he also wrecked both Priest and Sheamus and delivered Tsunami’s to them too! Funnily enough, this opened the door up for Dominik Mysterio to hit a Frog Splash which I thought was for the win, but Damian managed to break it up in what was a really good near-fall! Mysterio then tried to hit another Frog Splash onto Priest, but The Punisher caught “Dirty” Dom and delivered a great South of Heaven to score the win and set up a rematch between himself and Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship!
