Note: Unfortunately, my writing decided to delete itself just as I was finishing up and I simply don’t have the time or patience to write it up again, so here’s a bitesize version of what occurred on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.
Liv Morgan Starts the Show – Liv said some things about Dominik Mysterio before Finn Balor broke it all up. This was fine.
Grade: C+
Ludwig Kaiser VS Sheamus – This was a really good match between two talented competitors and it was nice to see Ludwig getting to showcase his technical wizardry. In the end, Kaiser snuck the win via roll-up.
Grade: B
Dragon Lee VS Finn Balor – Another good match between two talented athletes, it was also nice to see Dragon Lee back doing his thing, and the ending was smooth as Balor picked up the win with Coup de Grace.
Grade: B-
Sami Zayn Promo – Sami Zayn cut an in-ring promo on Chad Gable before the Alpha Academy (minus Chad Gable) arrived to deliver a message. Chad ultimately arrived and attacked Zayn, before Otis stood up for Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa, only to ultimately take out Sami after a misunderstanding. This was another superb segment involving the Alpha Academy.
Grade: A-
Bron Breakker VS Ricochet – Fun match, very fast-paced, and Breakker picked up the win with the Spear. After the match, Ilja Dragunov ran down to make the save, setting up a match between Dragunov and Bron for next week.
Grade: B-
Kiana James VS Natalya – Kiana James made her Main Roster in-ring debut in a match that the crowd sadly didn’t care about. However, at least KJ managed to pick up the win after dropping Natalya with the 401K!
Grade: C+
Braun Strowman VS Carlito – A literal squash match that was more about the aftermath as Liv Morgan arrived to save Dominik Mysterio before JD McDonagh wrecked Strowman with a steel chair to end the segment.
Grade: C+
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill VS Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark – After a quick promo segment, we got a match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships which Belair and Cargill dominated before the match ended via DQ after Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn arrived to take out the Champions!
Grade: C+
The Authors of Pain VS The New Day – This was a very short match in which Karrion Kross distracted Kofi Kingston before AOP hit their new Tag Team finisher onto Xavier Woods to score the win. I was glad that they won!
Grade: C+
Damian Priest VS Rey Mysterio – And in the Main Event, Damian Priest and Rey Mysterio had a very competitive bout which ultimately ended with Priest getting the victory with the South of Heaven. After the match, Drew McIntyre attacked the Champion before he got too distracted which allowed Priest to slam Drew through the announce table to end the show. It’s not often you see McIntyre get lifted like this so easily!
