Women’s WarGames Promo, Andrade VS Shinsuke Nakamura
WWE Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with the Babyface team of this weekend’s Women’s WarGames match cutting a promo about how despite them not getting along very much, they will comfortably dominate this weekend! The Heels then arrived to sow seeds of dissension, particularly surrounding Bayley before a brawl got underway, with Rhea Ripley’s crew standing tall! This was a mess, the delivery of the promos (minus Nia’s) was terrible, what was being said wasn’t very good, and they didn’t give anything to either Candice LeRae or Tiffany Stratton!

We then headed straight into the first match of the night as Andrade clashed with Shinsuke Nakamura! This was a good match I thought, the action was really strong, and some of the offense from both men were particularly good! This was also very much done to put over Shinsuke’s new act, and after smartly using the exposed turnbuckle as a weapon, Nakamura nailed Andrade in the back of the head with a Kinshasa to get the win! After the match, LA Knight ran down, only for Shin to spit black mist into The Megastar’s face! Please let Shinsuke win tonight!

Cody Rhodes VS Carmelo Hayes, Roman Reigns and CM Punk Come Face-to-Face, Lash Legend VS Michin VS Piper Niven: Women’s United States Championship Tournament (Round 1)
Nick Aldis told The Bloodline that they were all banned from ringside for the big Main Event clash between Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu before Tommaso Ciampa told Johnny Gargano that it’s time to start doing things “his Way”! Kevin Owens then cut a brilliant video promo which only amplifies the fact that he’s right to feel the way he does before his Rival Cody Rhodes headed down to the ring to go one-on-one with Carmelo Hayes! This was another good match, Carmelo Hayes is amazing at what he does, and Cody did well to put Hayes over here! It was one of those where Melo could’ve won, but he didn’t lose anything in defeat as he looked great once again! The Undisputed WWE Champion picked up the win with a Cross Rhodes!

The next segment involved a pre-taped sit-down promo segment involving Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and CM Punk! Roman was already annoyed at the fact that Punk was late before The Second City Saint made it crystal clear that he’s doing all of this for Paul, not for Roman! Reigns also made it clear that he doesn’t need or want Punk’s help, but The Wiseman butted in to say that without CM Punk, Solo Sikoa will end them all! Eventually, both men agreed to team with each other, but the big tease leaving this segment is that Paul Heyman now owes Punk a favour! What that might be certainly seemed to bother The Head of the Table! This was all great, Roman is just the best actor there is!
Grade: B+
It was then time for the next match in the Women’s United States Championship Tournament as Lash Legend, Michin, and Piper Niven all went at it! This was a decent match, I rate all three women here, I think they all could (and should) win this belt at some point down the line! I honestly expected Lash to win here, and she looked set to do it following a Lash Extension, but in the end, it was Michin who took advantage to pin Piper and advance to the Semi-Final stage!

Men’s WarGames Advantage Match: Jey Uso VS Jacob Fatu
After a Pretty Deadly video package (Yes Boy) and LA Knight saying he will retain his United States Championship at Survivor Series, it was Main Event time as Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu collided for the right to gift their team the WarGames Advantage! This was a competitive match, both guys put on a good performance, I mean Jacob Fatu is so much fun to watch, but Jey Uso has had a terrific year on his own! Jey actually came pretty close to winning following an Uso Splash, but after a Samoan Drop onto the announce table, it was Fatu who picked up the victory with his awesome Moonsault! Jacob Fatu winning here made total sense, and I’m very excited for this match tomorrow!
