The Bloodline Start the Show, Jimmy Uso VS Karl Anderson
The Bloodline made their way down to the ring at the start of Friday Night SmackDown as they basked in the glory of their beatdown on AJ Styles and John Cena last week. Paul Heyman then announced that John Cena was having some “travel issues” before Jimmy Uso acted like he was Roman Reigns (which Paul didn’t like). Karl Anderson then arrived out of nowhere and attacked the Heels before Solo told Jimmy to handle it. This then led into a match between Uso and Anderson and I was surprised by just how short this contest actually was. Jimmy controlled the action for the most part before he put Anderson away with the Uso Splash in about 3-to-4 minutes. After the match, Karl tried to fight back against Jim Uso before Solo Sikoa laid him out with the Samoan Spike. Michin also showed up and slapped Jimmy (Uso sold it well).

The Grayson Waller Effect (Featuring Bobby Lashley), Austin Theory VS Cameron Grimes, Rey Mysterio VS Santos Escobar: United States Championship, Bayley VS Charlotte Flair
Santos Escobar said whilst he respects Rey Mysterio, he will give him the fight of his life tonight before we saw Jimmy Uso just shove a random guy in the back. It was then time for The Grayson Waller Effect as The Arrogant Aussie welcomed his latest guest, (The All Mighty) Bobby Lashley. Bobby said he’s no longer working with The Street Profits before Waller gave Lashley the idea of having A-Town Down Under as his latest recruits. The All Mighty quickly turned this down before The Street Profits arrived to try and right the wrong they made last week. Bobby told Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins that they needed to do something to impress him before Austin Theory arrived and starred down with his former rival (Lashley). This then led into a match for Austin Theory as he was about to take on Cameron Grimes (a guy we haven’t seen for ages). Whilst this match was also short (I think even shorter than the first one), it was actually pretty decent as both guys brought it. That’s not really much of a surprise because Austin Theory is really good whilst Cameron Grimes is massively underrated. In the end, though, it was Theory who picked up the victory after delivering the A-Town Down as his buddy Grayson Waller cheered on at ringside. Austin Theory then spotted NXT’s Dragon Lee at ringside and the two got into a bit of an altercation.
Grade: C+ (for both)
Rey Mysterio said basically exactly the same as what Santos Escobar had said earlier tonight in a backstage promo with Kayla Braxton before we saw Jimmy Uso beating up Ashante “Thee” Adonis of Hit Row. Solo Sikoa then put Adonis through the table with a Spinning Solo and the best part about all of this was at the end, Uso said the words “he definitely won’t be John Cena’s partner now”. I don’t think he would’ve been Cena’s partner anyway if I’m being totally honest. It was then time for the United States Championship to be on the line as Rey Mysterio took on Santos Escobar in a battle between two LWO members. Zelina Vega watched on from ringside and she definitely had the best “seat” for what was a really good match. Santos Escobar is a terrific Professional Wrestler, but he doesn’t always get to show. Last night was one of those nights where he was able to show it as Santos outshone Mysterio in this match. However, Rey Mysterio is Rey Mysterio and he always finds a way even when he’s taken most of the punishment in the match. That’s exactly what happened here as Rey reversed Escobar’s attempt at the Phantom Driver into a roll-up to get the victory and retain his Title. After the match, The Street Profits attacked Rey and Santos from behind before Bobby Lashley arrived and killed Joaquin Wilde (Cruz Del Toro was also beaten up as well). Dragon Lee watched on in anger as he was blocked by security guards and all of this was interesting. Also, I should probably mention that Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa were continuing to beat people up backstage whilst this match was going on (it was an odd bit of timing).

Rey Mysterio challenged Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits to a match at Fastlane before we got an awesome video for Pretty Deadly. Whilst I think the best of Kit Wilson and Elton Prince, The Brawling Brutes didn’t seem to feel the same way as they watched the video on a TV backstage. It’s a little shame that WWE didn’t mention that Butch is on NXT No Mercy tonight, but there you go. It was then time for old rivals to go at it as Charlotte Flair took on “the leader” of Damage CTRL, Bayley. This match was alright, but it wasn’t nearly as good as it could’ve been given the two women involved. However, it was never meant to be and it ended with Charlotte Flair hitting Bayley with a Spear to pick up the victory. After the match, The Role Model along with Dakota Kai and the WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky surrounded the ring before Asuka arrived and started talking Japanese. Bayley interpreted this as her wanting a match for the WWE Women’s Championship which is why she accepted a Triple Threat match at Fastlane (including Charlotte) on Iyo Sky’s behalf. Iyo rightly wasn’t at all happy.

John Cena calls out The Bloodline
After arriving in his car earlier in the show, John Cena made his way down to the ring and cut straight to the chase as he said that he’s happy to face The Bloodline on his own at Fastlane if he can’t find a Tag Team partner. Jimmy Uso’s music then hit as Jimmy and Solo Sikoa made their way down to the ring before a brawl started. Sikoa and Uso once again “Beat Up John Cena” before LA Knight’s music hit and The Megastar made his return to TV. The Babyfaces then took out the Heels before LA Knight signed the contract, signaling that he’s going to be Cena’s partner at Fastlane. Whilst this was a relatively short segment, it achieved what it needed to do in getting LA Knight to team up with one of the biggest stars in WWE history whilst also putting him right into the thick of “The Bloodline Saga.” We just need Roman Reigns back now to make it as special as possible.
