LA Knight VS Santos Escobar
After Solo Sikoa told Nick Aldis that Jacob Fatu would be replacing the injured Tonga Loa in tonight’s Gauntlet Match, Friday Night SmackDown properly kicked off with LA Knight going one-on-one with Santos Escobar. This was a totally fine match, the action was solid enough, and it was all just here to give LA Knight some momentum heading into Summerslam. Elektra Lopez did get involved multiple times, but it never really led to anything as Knight scored the win via a BFT! After the match, however, Logan Paul attacked Knight, and with the help of The Emperor of Lucha Libre, the United States Champion was able to nail The Megastar with a Frog Splash to send a message to his latest challenger!

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill Speak, WWE Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match, A-Town Down Under Appear
Naomi cut a promo on how she’s going to teach Blair Davenport a lesson before Logan Paul teased a homecoming surprise for him next week! Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill then headed down to the ring as they wanted to call out Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn over not receiving a rematch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Eventually, Fyre and Dawn attacked the “Babyfaces” from behind, but it was Belair and Cargill who ultimately stood tall in pretty easy fashion. This really didn’t do anything at all!

After Nia Jax promised Tiffany Stratton a brand new MITB Briefcase (please let it be pink), it was time for a Gauntlet Match to determine DIY’s next challengers for the WWE Tag Team Championships. The match started off with Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin beating Legado Del Fantasma before The Street Profits arrived to have a decent little match which they ultimately won. Pretty Deadly were then out next as they worked on the knee of Montez Ford, but The Profits were still able to ultimately progress before Dawkins went on to roll-up Luke Gallows to eliminate The O.C.! This meant the last two teams were The Street Profits and The Bloodline, and despite a valiant effort from Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, it was Jacob Fatu who once again made the difference before he scored the win with a superbly-timed Moonsault! They’re winning next week!

A-Town Down Under were out next as they called out boxer Terence Crawford for an apology. Crawford then arrived and laughed this off before Grayson Waller told Austin Theory to knock him out. Theory didn’t seem particually interested in this, but he then got floored by Crawford to give the crowd something to cheer about. Fair enough!

Bayley and Michin VS Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton
After Cody Rhodes challenged Solo Sikoa to a Face-to-Face confrontation for next week and Andrade and Carmelo Hayes set up another match, it was Main Event time as Bayley and Michin teamed up to take on the duo of Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. The action started before the bell in this one as Nia and Tiffany took out Michin during her entrance meaning Bayley particually had a 2-on-1 handicap match to contend with. The WWE Women’s Champion did well, she got a decent amount of offense in, but she was never going to be a match for both The Queen of the Ring and Miss Money in the Bank! However, Michin did get back up onto the apron and got a few moves in of her own, but in the end, Jax floored The Role Model with the Annihilator to pin the Women’s Champion in what was actually a surprising moment! The show then closed with a Bloodline promo where Solo Sikoa accepted Cody Rhodes’ challenge before he told Roman Reigns to “come find him if he has a problem”!
