Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes VS Kevin Owens
WWE Bash in Berlin kicked off with a World Title Match as Cody Rhodes put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Kevin Owens. In-ring-wise, this was probably the best match of the night as both guys went at it whilst also telling a good story! The contest was pretty even, with both guys hitting their big moves, but something had to give and that came when Cody’s knee buckled. However, Kevin Owens just couldn’t pull the trigger, and he showed it again when he refused to hit his trademark apron Powerbomb! This ultimately cost KO dearly as Rhodes was able to reverse a Swanton Bomb into a Cross Rhodes to score the victory and retain his Undisputed WWE Championship! I get the feeling that this won’t be the last match in this story.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn VS Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
The next match saw the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line as Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn defended against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. This match was fine, Alba and Isla worked on Bianca for most of the proceedings before Jade Cargill got her usual hot tag spot! Fyre and Dawn came close to winning following their Tag Team finisher, but in the end, Belair and Cargill hit their own Tag Team finisher to score the win and win back the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles! I just don’t get this, the whole reign of The Unholy Union has been pointless, and that’s through no fault of their own.

CM Punk VS Drew McIntyre: Strap Match
The second match in the story of CM Punk and Drew McIntyre was contested in a Strap Match! This meant that the only way to win was to tap all 4 corners in succession, without letting your opponent break your momentum. To be fair to Drew and Punk, their offense in this was strong, it was very hard-hitting, and you could still tell that they despise each other. However, the stipulation itself was very stupid, and it just didn’t work at all for me. In the end, it was Punk who prevailed following 4 GTS’, but yeah, this just wasn’t very good in my opinion.

The Judgment Day VS The Terror Twins
It was then time for some Mixed Tag Team action as Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio teamed up to take on the pairing of Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. This was my favourite thing on the show because the crowd absolutely ate it all up. Whether that was going mad in favour of Damian and Rhea, or going mad against Liv and Dom! It was a lot of fun, and Wade Barrett also added a lot on commentary. The loudest pop probably came when Rhea tried to choke out Dominik, but that was eventually thwarted by the appearance of the rest of The Judgment Day. This allowed Morgan to drop Ripley with an amazing Sunset-flip Powerbomb into the barricade before Finn Balor took out Damian Priest with a sling blade. “Dirty” Dom then headed to the top rope to hit a Frog Splash, but that could only earn him a 2 count before Priest wiped out Mysterio on the announce table. This was what ultimately led to the finish as Rhea Ripley was able to drop Liv Morgan with a Riptide meaning The Terror Twins ended up victorious!
Grade: B
World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther VS Randy Orton
And in the Main Event of WWE Bash in Berlin, Randy Orton looked to capture the World Heavyweight Championship off of the local hero, The Ring General, Gunther! This match got an awful lot of time, and the crowd were beyond loud for it! There were times where Randy Orton would get booed by the crowd, but that only made the spectacle better, especially when he’s facing someone like Gunther. The Ring General is amazing at everything he does, and he sold his hand throughout this. However, the one downside I had to this match is it felt a little too slow at times, particually when they headed outside of the ring. There were also no real believable near-falls which is always a shame, but I liked the ending as Gunther was eventually able to lock in a sleeper hold and force The Viper to pass out! After the match, both Gunther and Orton shook hands in a nice moment for the German crowd!
