In just three days time, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will collide in Las Vegas in the biggest sporting event of the year, Super Bowl LVIII! Now, let’s start with the reigning Champions!

The Kansas City Chiefs are about to enter their 4th Super Bowl in just 6 years! Kansas City struggled ever so slightly in the Regular Season as they ended up losing 6 games. However, The Chiefs still won the AFC West and took the Number 3 seed into the Playoffs as a result. During the Playoffs, The Chiefs managed to beat the Miami Dolphins 26-7 on Super Wild Card Weekend and The Bills 27-24 (in Buffalo) in the Divisional Round before they went to Baltimore and beat The Ravens 17-10 to win the AFC Championship and a book a return ticket straight back to the Super Bowl! KC are coming into this weekend off the back of 5 straight wins and they have a 3-2 record when it comes to playing in the big game. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the Kansas City Chiefs are 2-3 against NFC teams this season.

The San Francisco 49ers are looking to get revenge for what happened at Super Bowl 54 in Miami. San Francisco played very well in the Regular Season, finishing 12-5 which was ultimately enough for them to not only win the NFC West, but also for them to take the Number 1 seed in the NFC. During the Playoffs, The 49ers came from behind to just about edge out the Green Bay Packers 24-21 in the Divisional Round before they managed to edge out the Detroit Lions 34-31 in the NFC Championship game. The Niners are entering this weekend off the back of 2 straight wins and they have a 5-2 record when it comes to playing in the big game (they have lost their last two Super Bowl’s though). Finally, it’s worth mentioning the San Francisco 49ers are 2-3 against AFC teams this season.

My Super Bowl 58 Prediction

The San Francisco 49ers have earned their way back to the Super Bowl whilst the Kansas City Chiefs have proven time and time again that they are as good as they say they are. The 49ers haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1995 whilst The Chiefs have won 2 in the last 4 years. Patrick Mahomes feels like a veteran Quarterback now, certainly when it comes to playing in big games whilst Brock Purdy is only in his second season after being picked last in the 2022 NFL Draft. It’s also worth mentioning that Mahomes’ six seasons as starting Quarterback at KC has resulted in an AFC Championship defeat, a Super Bowl win, a Super Bowl defeat, an AFC Championship defeat, a Super Bowl win, and now he’s back in the Super Bowl. In the end, this is a really close one to call, but I’m going to say that the San Francisco 49ers will just about edge it and win Super Bowl LVIII!
