Throughout the 2024 NFL Regular Season, I have been making Predictions for every single game, and in this article, I will go through how all of that shaped out to give us the Standings of what could’ve been had I got every single Prediction right! Also, it’s interesting to see which teams I had too much faith in, and which teams I didn’t rate enough!
AFC East
In the AFC East, I predicted the Buffalo Bills to win their Division with a record of 13-4! This is actually bang on what happened in real life, so this is an amazing start! In second place, I had the Miami Dolphins to finish with an 11-6 record! Miami did finish second, but only with a record of 8-9 so I definitely overestimated them! I then had the New York Jets to finish third with a 5-12 record! This also happened bang-on, so that’s pretty good! And finally, I had the New England Patriots to finish bottom of the AFC East (also) with a record of 5-12! The reason New England are below New York is because of their H2H record! Anyway, The Patriots did finish bottom of their Division, but with a record of 4-13 (I was close though)! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Buffalo Bills as the Number 3 seed (9-3 VS AFC) and the Miami Dolphins as the Number 6 seed! What actually happened was The Bills took the Number 2 seed whilst The Dolphins didn’t make the Playoffs at all!
AFC North
In the AFC North, I predicted the Cincinnati Bengals to win their Division with a 13-4 record! I was well off with this one as Cincinnati finished third with just a 9-8 record! In second place, I had the Pittsburgh Steelers with a record of 9-8! Pittsburgh did end up second in real life, but with a slightly better 10-7 record! I then had the Baltimore Ravens to finish third with an 8-9 record! I massively underestimated Baltimore because they ended up winning the AFC North with a record of 12-5! And finally, I had the Cleveland Browns to finish bottom of the AFC North with a record of 2-12! I nearly got this spot on, with Cleveland winning just 1 more game to finish 3-14! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Cincinnati Bengals to take the Number 4 seed (8-4 VS AFC) and the Pittsburgh Steelers to take the Number 7 seed! What actually happened was The Bengals didn’t make the Playoffs, The Steelers took the Number 6 seed, and The Ravens were the Number 3 seed!
AFC South
In the AFC South, I predicted the Houston Texans to win their Division with a massive 14-3 record! Houston did win their Division rather comfortably, but only with a 10-7 record! In second place, I had the Indianapolis Colts with a record of 8-9! This is actually spot on so well done me! I then had the Tennessee Titans to finish third with just a 2-15 record! This was wrong in both aspects with Tennessee winning 1 more game whilst also finishing 1 place lower! And finally, I had the Jacksonville Jaguars to finish bottom of the AFC South with a record of 2-15! Jacksonville did do better than this, but finishing third with a record of 4-13 isn’t good either! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Houston Texans as the Number 2 seed! What actually happened is The Texans took the Number 4 seed!
AFC West
In the AFC West, I predicted the Kansas City Chiefs to win their Division with a massive 16-1 record! I was so close with this one as Kansas City won their Division, but “only” with a 15-2 record! In second place, I had the Los Angeles Chargers with a record of 14-3! The Chargers did come home second, but with a weaker record of 11-6! I then had the Denver Broncos to finish third with a 7-10 record! The Broncos actually had a flipped record (10-7), but they did finish third! And finally, I had the Las Vegas Raiders to finish bottom of the AFC West with a record of 4-13! This happened spot on, so I’m pretty pleased with that! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Kansas Chiefs as the Number 1 seed and the Los Angeles Chargers as the Number 5 seed! To be fair, both of those things happened, but The Broncos did also get in as the Number 7 seed!
NFC East
In the NFC East, I predicted the Philadelphia Eagles to win their Division with a great 14-3 record! This is exactly what happened so this is a good start! In second place, I had the Washington Commanders with a record of 13-4! I was nearly spot on here, but The Commanders ended up with a 12-5 record! I then had the Dallas Cowboys to finish third with a 7-10 record! This also happened so I’m doing very well so far in this Division! And finally, I had the New York Giants to finish bottom of the NFC East with an abysmal record of 1-16! Whilst New York were pretty poor, they at least got 3 wins! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Philadelphia Eagles as the Number 2 seed and the Washington Commanders as the Number 5 seed! I was again spot on with The Eagles, but The Commanders took the Number 6 seed instead!
NFC North
In the NFC North, I predicted the Detroit Lions to win their Division with a massive 16-1 record! Detroit did win the NFC North, but with a slightly weaker 15-2 record! In second place, I had the Minnesota Vikings with a record of 12-5! Minnesota actually did better than this as they ended up with a record of 14-3! I then had the Green Bay Packers to finish third with a 9-8 record! Green Bay did finish third, but with a better record of 11-6! And finally, I had the Chicago Bears to finish bottom of the NFC North with a record of 5-12! This happened exactly so that’s pretty nice! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Detroit Lions as the Number 1 seed and the Minnesota Vikings as the Number 6 seed! The Lions did take the Number 1 seed, but The Vikings took the 5th seed whilst The Packers got in at Number 7!
NFC South
In the NFC South, I predicted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win their Division with a great 13-4 record! Tampa Bay did win their Division, but with just the 10 wins! In second place, I had the Atlanta Falcons with a record of 9-8! I was close here, but Atlanta ended up going 8-9! I then had the New Orleans Saints to finish third with a 6-11 record! In fact, this was completely wrong as New Orleans finished bottom of their Division with a 5-12 record! And finally, I had the Carolina Panthers to finish bottom of the NFC South with a record of 3-14! The Panthers actually did better than I anticipated, winning 5 games on their way to third in the Division! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to take the Number 3 seed! What actually happened was The Bucs took the Number 4 seed!
NFC West
In the NFC West, I predicted the Seattle Seahawks to win their Division with a 10-7 record! For the third-straight year, I’ve predicted Seattle’s record correctly, but they actually finished second in real life! In second place, I had the San Francisco 49ers with a record of 9-8! San Francisco did a lot worse than this, finishing bottom of their Division with just the 6 wins! I then had the Arizona Cardinals to finish third, also with a 9-8 record! Arizona did finish third, but with 1 less win! And finally, I had the Los Angeles Rams to finish bottom of the NFC West with a poor record of 3-14! This is definitely my worst Prediction as LA actually won the Division with a record of 10-7! In terms of the Playoffs, I had the Seattle Seahawks to take the Number 4 seed and the San Francisco 49ers to take the Number 7 seed (Strength of Victory)! What actually happened is neither The Seahawks nor The 49ers made the Playoffs whilst The Rams took the Number 3 seed!
