Premier League Preview: Gameweek 37

Tottenham VS Brentford


Both Tottenham and Brentford need to win this game if they’re going to qualify for Europe. Tottenham lost 2-1 away to Aston Villa in their last game and they currently sit 7th with two games to go. Brentford beat West Ham United 2-0 last time out and they currently find themselves in 9th place with two games left to play. In their previous 4 meetings, Spurs have won twice whilst the other two games finished as a draw. You actually have to go all the way back to 1948 for the last time that Brentford beat Tottenham Hotspur. For Tottenham, no European Football would be disastrous for them. Spurs are ranked 6th in GPG (1.8) and they also have the 6th best home record in the league. As for Brentford, they have to win this game if they want any chance of qualifying for Europe. The Bees are ranked 7th in GPG (1.5) and nobody has a higher save percentage in the league this season than David Raya (76.4%).

Bournemouth VS Manchester United


Manchester United need just 2 wins from their remaining 3 games to qualify for the Champions League. AFC Bournemouth lost 2-0 away to Crystal Palace last time out and they currently sit 14th in the table with 2 games to go. Manchester United won 2-0 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers and they sit 4th with 3 games still to play. In their previous 11 meetings, Bournemouth have won twice whilst United have won 8 times. For Bournemouth, they should go out there and enjoy this game. The Cherries are ranked 14th in GPG (1.0) and they have the 5th worst home record in the league this season. As for Manchester United, two more wins and they are back in the UEFA Champions League. United are ranked 8th in GPG (1.5) and they haven’t won any of their last 5 away games.

Fulham VS Crystal Palace


Fulham picked up a 2-0 win away to Southampton in their last game and they currently sit 10th with 2 games to go. Crystal Palace won 2-0 at home to Bournemouth last time out and they currently sit 12th in the table with 2 games left to play. In their previous 9 meetings, both teams have won 3 times and there have also been 3 draws. For Fulham, they’ll really want to win their final home game of the season. The Cottagers are ranked 9th in GPG (1.4) and they have the 11th-best home record in the league this season. As for Crystal Palace, they are definitely aiming to finish above London rivals Chelsea in the league table come next weekend. The Eagles are ranked 14th in GPG (1.0) and they have the 13th-best away record in the league.

Liverpool VS Aston Villa


Liverpool host Aston Villa in a big game for both sides. Liverpool thrashed Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium on Monday and they currently find themselves in 5th place with 2 games to go. Aston Villa picked up a really good 2-1 win at home to Tottenham and they currently sit 8th in the table with just 2 games left. In their previous 22 meetings, Liverpool have won 14 times whilst Villa have won 6 times. For Liverpool, they have to keep winning to keep the pressure on Newcastle and Manchester United. The Reds are ranked 3rd in GPG (1.9) and they are currently on a 7-game winning streak. As for Aston Villa, a win here would be huge for their chances of finishing in a European place. Wolves VS Everton


Everton go to Wolverhampton looking for a result that could secure their Premier League safety. Everton were thrashed 3-0 at home by Manchester City and they currently sit 17th, just a point above the relegation zone with 2 games to go. Nottingham Forest VS Arsenal


Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in a massive game for both clubs. Nottingham Forest picked up a good point away from home against Chelsea last weekend (2-2) and they currently sit 16th in the table, 3 points above the relegation zone with 2 games left. Arsenal were thrashed 3-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion in their last game and they currently sit second, 4 points off leaders Manchester City with just 2 games left to play. In their previous 5 meetings, Notts Forest have won twice whilst Arsenal have won three times. For Nottingham Forest, a win in this game would all but secure their spot in the Premier League for next season. Forest are ranked 16th in GPG (1.0) and they have the 12th-best home record in the league. As for Arsenal, all they can do now is just make sure they win their remaining games. The Gunners are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.3) and they have the best away record in the league this season.

West Ham VS Leeds


Leeds go to West Ham needing a result in their fight for Premier League survival. West Ham United lost 2-0 away to Brentford in their last league game before they won 1-0 in Alkmaar last night to make it to the UEFA Europa Conference League Final. West Ham are currently 15th in the league and they have 2 games left to play. Leeds United picked up a decent point in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle in their last game and they currently sit 18th in the table, 1 point from safety with 2 games to go. In their previous 8 meetings, West Ham have won 4 times whilst Leeds have won just once. For West Ham United, they need to build themselves some momentum heading into the Europa Conference League Final. The Hammers are ranked 13th in GPG (1.1) and they have the 14th-best home record in the league. As for Leeds United, they could see themselves relegated if things don’t go their way this weekend. Brighton VS Southampton


Brighton and Hove Albion brilliantly beat Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates last weekend before they were thrashed 4-1 at Newcastle last night. Brighton currently sit 6th in the table with 3 games to go. Southampton’s relegation was confirmed last weekend after a 2-0 loss at home to Fulham and they currently find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table with just 2 games left to play. In their previous 17 meetings, Brighton have won just 3 times whilst Southampton have won 7 times. For Brighton and Hove Albion, they need just two more wins to secure a spot in the Europa League for next season. The Seagulls are ranked 4th in GPG (1.9) and they have the 9th-best home record in the league this season. As for Southampton, they need to at least try and end their run in the Premier League in a positive manner. Manchester City VS Chelsea


Manchester City go to the Etihad looking for a win that would seal their third consecutive Premier League trophy. Man City won 3-0 away to Everton in their last league game before they thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 at home to secure their spot in the Champions League Final. City are currently 4 points clear at the top of the Premier League with 3 league games still to go. Chelsea drew 2-2 at home to Nottingham Forest in their last game and they currently sit 11th with 3 games left to play. In their previous 37 meetings, Manchester City gave won 21 times compared to Chelsea’s 12. Man City have won each of their last 5 meetings without conceding a goal. For Manchester City, they’ll want to lift the title in front of their home fans. City are ranked 1st in GPG (2.6) and they are currently on a 23-game unbeaten run (19W,4D). Newcastle drew 2-2 away to Leeds last weekend before they thrashed Brighton 4-1 at home last night. Newcastle currently sit third with 2 games left to play. Leicester were comfortably beaten 3-0 at home by Liverpool last time out and they currently sit 19th in the table, 2 points away from safety with just 2 games remaining. In their previous 18 meetings, Newcastle have won 7 times whilst Leicester have won 10 times. For Newcastle United, a win here and they will be playing Champions League football next season. The Magpies are ranked 4th in GPG (1.9) and they have the 5th best home record in the league this season. As for Leicester City, they have to win this game. The Foxes are ranked 10th in GPG (1.4), but they haven’t won any of their last 7 away games (2D,5L).
