Leeds VS Bournemouth
Leeds United come into this game off the back of a brilliant victory over Liverpool at Anfield. The win means they currently sit in 15th place. Bournemouth played really well against Tottenham Hotspur last week, but they still ended up losing. They currently sit 14th, just 1 point ahead of their opponents. These two teams have never played against each other in the Premier League and their last meeting came back in 2015 were Leeds won 1-0. For Leeds, they are ranked 12th in GPG (1.3) and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 5. Can they win two league games in a row for the first time all season? As for Bournemouth, they are ranked 14th in GPG (0.9) and they two have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 5 matches. They are also on a 3-match losing streak.
My Prediction: 2-2
Manchester City VS Fulham
The reigning Premier League Champions take on the reigning Championship Champions. Manchester City got a 1-0 win away to Leicester last weekend before they beat Sevilla 3-1 in the Champions League. They still sit second. Fulham picked up a point in a nil-nil draw at home to Everton and they currently sit 7th. In their last 15 meetings, Manchester City have won 13 times and the other 2 games have ended in draws. City have won the last 12 meetings by an aggregate score of 36-4 and you would have to go back to 2009 for when Fulham last beat City (bonus point if you can correctly guess the score). For City, they still average more than 3 goals a game in the league and they still have an 100% record at home in all competitions. A win would move them top before Arsenal play on Sunday. As for Fulham, they have picked up 8 points in their last 4 games and they are ranked 6th in GPG (1.7). Also, Bernd Leno is ranked 1st in saves per match in the league this season (4.4). This should be a good game.
My Prediction: 4-2
Nottingham Forest VS Brentford
Nottingham Forest really struggled last week and they ended up being thrashed by five goals to nil at the Emirates. They are still bottom of the table. Brentford drew 1 all with Wolves last week and they currently sit 11th in the table. In their last 14 meetings, Brentford have won 8 times compared to Forest’s 4. Ivan Toney has scored in the last 2 games between the two sides, but he is suspended for this one. This will also be the first time that the two sides ever face off in the Premier League. For Notts Forest, they are ranked 19th in GPG and goalkeeper Dean Henderson is ranked 3rd in saves per match in the league (4.1). As for Brentford, they are ranked 3rd in big chances created but are only ranked 9th in goals per game (1.5). So far, Brentford are yet to win an away game in the league this season and David Raya is ranked 2nd in saves per match (4.2) so we may have ourselves a battle of the goalkeepers in this one.
My Prediction: 0-0
Wolves VS Brighton
Wolves picked up a decent point away from home to Brentford last week, but they still sit 19th in the league table. Roberto De Zerbi picked up his first win as Brighton manager last week by thumping Chelsea 4-1. The Seagulls currently sit 8th in the table. In their last 16 games, 50% of them finished in draws with Brighton winning 31% compared to Wolves’ 19%. Brighton won this fixture back in April 3-0. For Wolverhampton Wanderers, they are the worst attacking team in the league (0.5 GPG) and they have only picked up 1 point in their last 3 games. As for Brighton, they are ranked 8th in GPG (1.6) and they have the 7th best away record in the league this season.
My Prediction: 1-3
Everton VS Leicester
This week's Saturday Night Football sees Everton host Leicester City. Everton picked up a point away from home against Fulham last week and they currently sit 12th in the table. Leicester City suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City last week and they currently sit in 18th place. In their last 19 meetings, both teams have won 7 times and there has been 5 draws. The Toffees have picked up 11 points in their last 5 league games against the Foxes. For Everton, they are ranked 15th in GPG (0.8) and they are unbeaten in their last 2 matches. This is a game that they should be winning. As for Leicester, they are ranked 7th in GPG (1.6) which is pretty good, but they are ranked 18th in goals conceded per game (1.9). A win would see them move out of the relegation zone.
My Prediction: 2-0
Chelsea VS Arsenal
Chelsea suffered a bad loss last week away to Brighton (4-1) but they got back to winning ways in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb. They currently sit 6th. Arsenal got a big 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest last week and they beat FC Zurich last night 1-0. They are still top of the table. In their last 33 meetings, Chelsea have won 14 times whilst Arsenal have won 11. Arsenal have beaten Chelsea in both of their last 2 matches at Stamford Bridge including a 4-2 win in April. For Chelsea, they are ranked 10th in GPG (1.4) and 7th in GCPG (1.3). Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 11 home games and this is a must win game for Chelsea if they want to stay in the title fight. As for Arsenal, they are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.5) and they have the best away record in the league (13pts from 6). A win here for Arsenal would really showcase how brilliantly they are doing.
My Prediction: 2-2
Aston Villa VS Manchester United
Unai Emery comes in to manage Aston Villa for the first time after they were thrashed 4-0 by Newcastle. They currently sit 16th, just 1 point above the relegation zone. Manchester United picked up another good win last week against West Ham and last night, they went to San Sebastian and beat Real Sociedad 1-0 in Europa League. They currently sit in 5th place with a game in hand on the two teams above them. In their last 20 competitive meetings, Manchester United have won 75% of their meetings whilst Villa have only beaten United once. That win came early on in the 21/22 season. Also, Bruno Fernandes has a great record against Villa but he is unavailable due to suspension. For Aston Villa, they are ranked 15th in GPG (0.8) and they have picked up 10 points in six home games in the league. As for Manchester United, they are ranked 10th in GPG (1.4) and they are unbeaten in their last 9 matches. United have the 5th best away record in the league.
My Prediction: 2-3
Southampton VS Newcastle
Southampton suffered a 1-0 loss away to Crystal Palace last week and they currently sit 17th in the table. Newcastle come into this game after thrashing Aston Villa 4-0 last week and they still find themselves inside the top four. In their last 18 meetings, Newcastle have won 7 times compared to Southampton’s six. Newcastle won their last meeting at the ST. Mary’s stadium by 2 goals to 1. For Southampton, they are ranked 15th in GPG (0.8) and they have the worst home record in the league. A loss here could see them move into the bottom three. As for Newcastle, they are ranked 5th in GPG (1.8) and they have kept the most clean sheets in the league this season. Newcastle will be hoping for their 4th consecutive win, particularly given the fact that the fans have got to travel over 320 miles to get there.
My Prediction: 0-3
West Ham VS Crystal Palace
West Ham suffered a defeat away to Manchester United last Sunday, but they bounced back last night with a 3-0 over FC FCSB in Romania to complete an 100% record in the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage. They currently sit 13th in the league table. Crystal Palace got back to winning ways last week at home to Southampton (1-0) and they now sit inside the top 10. In their last 20 meetings, there has been a total of 8 draws whilst the Hammers have won 7 times and the Eagles have won 5 times. Their last 2 meetings at this ground have ended in both sides taking home a share of the points. For West Ham, they are ranked 15th in GPG (0.8) and they are unbeaten in their last 7 home games in all competitions. A win here would see them move above their London rivals. As for Crystal Palace, they are ranked 13th in GPG (1.1) and they have actually failed to score in all of their last 3 away matches. Also, they are yet to win an away game in the league this season.
My Prediction: 2-1
Tottenham VS Liverpool
The final game of the weekend is a big one as Tottenham Hotspur host Liverpool. Spurs turned it around at Bournemouth last week and they scored a late goal in Marseille to secure top spot in their Champions League group. They currently sit third in the Premier League table. Liverpool suffered another bad loss at home to Leeds last week, but they sort of bounced back in the week with a 2-0 win over Napoli. They are currently 9th in the table, 10 points behind their opponents (with a game in hand). In the last 27 meetings between the two sides, Liverpool have won 52% of their matches whilst Spurs have only won 19%. Spurs’ last win over Liverpool came all the way back in 2017. For Tottenham, they are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.0) but they haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet in their previous 5 matches. They need to try and win here to keep up with the top 2. As for Liverpool, they are ranked 4th in GPG (1.9) and are ranked 2nd in big chances created. They are still yet to win an away game in the league this season and they need to change that this weekend.
