NXT Women’s North American Championship: Fallon Henley VS Stephanie Vaquer

NXT Vengeance Day 2025 kicked off in style as Fallon Henley put her NXT Women’s North American Championship on the line against Stephanie Vaquer! This was a strong start to the show, Stephanie Vaquer is so damn talented, like she’s already a Superstar, and Fallon Henley is also pretty good! Both women had different periods of the match where they were in control, Fallon was definitely helped in that respect by interference from Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx, and the ref was also very dumb! In the end, though, Vaquer was able to take out all 3 members of Fatal Influence before she nailed Henley with both an SVD and a Spiral Tap to get the win meaning The Dark Angel is now the new NXT Women’s North American Champion! Overall, this was a great way to start the show!

NXT Tag Team Championships: Axiom and Nathan Frazer VS Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura

It was then time for more Gold to be on the line as Axiom and Nathan Frazer defended their NXT Tag Team Championships against the duo of Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura! Firstly, this was the match of the night in my opinion, it was absolutely terrific, probably up there with FRAXIOM-Chase University from last year’s NXT Heatwave in terms of the best Tag Team matches in recent memory! Axiom and Frazer are incredible, I praise them every time they enter the squared circle, but a lot of praise also needs to be handed out to the challengers! Josh Briggs is great, I’ve rated him for a while now, and he once again put on a Match of the Year contender in NXT! Also, Yoshiki Inamura was amazing here, I was so damn impressed to the point where NXT should just sign him straight up because he’s that damn talented! Ultimately, after Spanish Fly’s, Poison Rana’s, and a high-low combination, FRAXIOM were able to get the win and retain their NXT Tag Team Titles before all four men were attacked by a new group (which included Dion Lennox)!
Grade: A
Eddy Thorpe VS Trick Williams: Strap Match

Rivals were tied together in the next match as Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe faced off in a Strap Match! This was brutal at times, it was very hard-hitting, and there were also some unique manoeuvres when it came to how the leather strap was used. The crowd absolutely hated Eddy Thorpe throughout this contest whilst simultaneously chanting Trick Willy’s name, but despite all of that, Thorpe had the advantage for the most part before he pinned Trick following a knee strike to pick up the biggest win of his career to date! This result actually didn’t surprise me, but it was certainly a shock for the NXT Universe in attendance!
Grade: B-
Ethan Page VS Je’Von Evans

After only just being medically cleared, Je’Von Evans entered Vengeance Day looking for revenge as he went one-on-one with Ethan Page! Je’Von used his quickness throughout the contest, taking multiple risks with crazy dives that included an amazing cutter onto the ring apron (which actually busted Ethan open)! However, Page is a proper bad guy so after trapping Evans’ leg between the steel steps, All Ego continued to work on that area of the body in order to slow down Je’Von’s aerial threat! However, The Young O.G. wasn’t going to stay down as he fired back with some more high-flying offense, but in the end, Evans got whacked right in his injured jaw by Ethan Page before The Egomaniac delivered his neckbreaker to get the win! Once again, the crowd weren’t happy!
Grade: B-
NXT Championship: Oba Femi VS Austin Theory VS Grayson Waller

It was then time for the NXT Championship to be defended as Oba Femi had to take on both members of A-Town Down Under in a Triple Threat Match! The crowd were well behind Oba here, partly because they didn’t like the Heels, but it’s worth saying that they weren’t fully against Austin Theory! The storyline heading into the match was whether Austin Theory and Grayson Waller would work together or ultimately cost each other, and for the most part, they did work together to take out the bigger threat! However, after Theory nailed Femi with A-Town Down, Waller pulled the referee out of the ring to deny his Tag Team partner the NXT Championship before Grayson “accidentally” nailed Austin with the rolling Stunner, allowing Oba Femi to floor The Arrogant Aussie with a Fall From Grace to get the win! I thought all of this was well done, I didn’t have a problem with any of it, and after the match, that group from earlier in the night reappeared to take out The Ruler!

NXT Women’s Championship: Giulia VS Bayley VS Roxanne Perez VS Cora Jade

And in the Main Event of NXT Vengeance Day 2025, Giulia, Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade all went at it with the NXT Women’s Championship on the line! Whilst I thought the match didn’t start off on the strongest footing, it got a lot better as it went along, and it ultimately was a very good Main Event! Giulia is amazing, Bayley is a Superstar, and Roxanne Perez is the future, and they all did great work here! However, the person who impressed me the most was actually Cora Jade as Cora was everywhere in this match, getting plenty of offense in before The Generation of Jade finally would’ve started had it not been for Roxanne breaking up the pin! Unlike in the last match, Roxanne and Cora were more than happy to go at each other here in order to leave Washington, DC as the NXT Women’s Champion, but that ultimately cost them both as after Perez dropped Bayley with not 1, but 2 Pop Rox’s and Cora then floored Roxanne with Jaded, Giulia was able to nail both women with Arrivederci Knees before The Beautiful Madness delivered her finisher to The Prodigy to get the win and retain her NXT Women’s Title! After the match, Stephanie Vaquer came down so we could end the show with both Champions in the ring, but that wasn’t actually the case as Jordynne Grace made her presence known as NXT’s Women’s Division continues to get better and better!
