Giulia and Bayley VS Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade

NXT’s Women’s Division took center stage in Atlanta as this week’s edition of NXT kicked off with Giulia and Bayley teaming up to take on the duo of Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade! I thought this was a good Tag Team match, Roxanne and Cora work really well together, and you could just see how experienced Giulia and Bayley are! Both teams had different moments where they were in control, but towards the end, Bayley was able to take out Perez on the outside before The Role Model nailed Jade with an elbow drop to get the win! I was a little surprised Giulia didn’t get the pin here, but this was for a reason!

The Grayson Waller Effect (Featuring Oba Femi), Trick Williams VS Wes Lee

Eddy Thorpe had a video promo where he said he will win Championships in NXT down the line before it time for an NXT Edition of The Grayson Waller Effect as A-Town Down Under welcomed their guest, Oba Femi! Austin Theory and Grayson Waller were at NXT to see what all the hype was about and whether Oba really is as good as they say he is because there’s been multiple times where a star in NXT hasn’t made it in “the big leagues”! This just annoyed Femi who was clearly interested in wiping both men out, but what I liked about this segment was how much the crowd reacted to Theory given he was in his hometown! Towards the end of the segment, Oba Femi made a challenge for his NXT Championship which Waller cut Theory off from accepting, but this brought Ava out to say that’s not how it works, only for Trick Williams to storm past and start a brawl with A-Town Down Under! The segment then ended with Femi dropping Trick with a devastating-looking Fall from Grace, and yeah, this was a decent segment!

Izzi Dame made it clear that she and Tony D’Angelo are even now, but this didn’t sit right with Ridge Holland which is when Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo came to the defense of Izzi! It was then time for the next match of the night as Trick Williams had to get back up and take on Wes Lee. The action here was fine, there was nothing wrong with it, but I just didn’t like that this match was happening. Trick Williams VS Wes Lee should Main Event an NXT PLE for a Title, so the fact that this was the second match of the card and didn’t really mean anything just annoyed me. Trick is seemingly another example of an NXT Superstar that’s staying on the brand longer than he should, and in the end, Williams’ anger got the best of him as he was disqualified following shoving a referee over!

NXT Women’s North American Championship: Fallon Henley VS Shotzi, Ethan Page VS Cedric Alexander

Ava wasn’t very happy with Oba Femi so she told the NXT Champion that he will be defending his NXT Championship in a Triple Threat Match against both Austin Theory and Grayson Waller at NXT Vengeance Day! Ava then went to find Trick Williams and told him that he can team up with Oba to take on A-Town Down Under next week before it was time for Fallon Henley to put her NXT Women’s North American Championship on the line against Shotzi! Early in the match, Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley brawled to the back with Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx which meant this became a straight singles match. Fallon was smart, she delivered a nasty move to the braced knee of Shotzi before The Pro targeted that body part for the rest of the match. However, Shotzi was able to rally back and come pretty close to winning following a tough-looking senton, but in the end, Henley was able to get over the line and retain her North American Championship! After the match, Fallon wasn’t able to celebrate her victory for long as Stephanie Vaquer came out to set herself up as Henley’s next challenger!

Karmen Petrovic went to thank Kelani Jordan, but Lani told her that she’s too self-centred before Ava told Roxanne Perez that at NXT Vengeance Day, there will be a Triple Threat match for the NXT Women’s Championship involving her, Giulia, and Bayley! Roxanne was pretty happy about this, but the same could not be said for Cora Jade! Ethan Page music then hit as All Ego was ready to go one-on-one with Cedric Alexander! Just like the previous match, this was all about the Heel targeting the Babyface’s weakness as Ethan continued to work on the injured hand of Cedric! Alexander did a decent job of fighting back, using his quickness to get ahead at times, but in the end, Page was too strong as he picked up the win following a neckbreaker! After the match, Page went to continue to harm Alexander before Je’Von Evans arrived and made the save, wiping All Ego out of the ring!

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Bianca Belair and Naomi VS Meta-Four

After Fatal Influence cut a promo on Stephanie Vaquer and Josh Briggs gifted Yoshiki Inamura a jacket, it was Main Event time as Bianca Belair and Naomi put their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line against Meta-Four! Whilst the crowd started this match quite mixed, the longer it went on, the more they got behind Meta-Four. Lash Legend was impressive as always, out-powering Bianca and out-wrestling Naomi! Jakara also continued her decent run of performances, and The Meta-Girls nearly got the win following their Tag Team finisher (the pinfall got broken up)! Towards the end of the match, Jakara got so close to winning her and Lash Gold with a roll-up, but in the end, it was Belair and Naomi who got the win to the displeasure of the NXT Universe! One day Meta-Four will win these Titles, one day!
