Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying Match: Nathan Frazer VS Eddy Thorpe

Credit: Tuttowrestling

NXT kicked off this week with Nathan Frazer and Eddy Thorpe colliding in a Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying Match! This was a good start to the show, Nathan Frazer continues to be one of my favourite in-ring wrestlers to watch, and Eddy Thorpe has certainly improved! There were also plenty of shenanigans going on around ringside as the NXT Tag Team Division caused a big brawl before Frazer took advantage to beat Thorpe courtesy of a Phoenix Splash!

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying Match: Jaida Parker VS Stephanie Vaquer, Tony D’Angelo VS Brooks Jensen, Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Karmen Petrovic VS Dion Lennox and Brinley Reece

We got a great video showcasing highlights of Chase University before Giulia and Kelani Jordan made their own cases for why they’re going to qualify for the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge! Speaking of Qualifying matches, the next match came on the Women’s side as Jaida Parker took on Stephanie Vaquer! This was a decent little match, I really rate Stephanie Vaquer, and Jaida Parker has really broken out this year! I fully expected Stephanie to win here, but interestingly, whilst Vaquer did get the W, it was very much helped by Lola Vice who arrived to distract Miss Parker!

Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox were warming up backstage before Roxanne Perez’s vacation was cut short by Sol Ruca! Tony D’Angelo was then out next as The Don went one-on-one with Brooks Jensen! This was a fine match, I rate Brooks Jensen, I think he’s underrated, and we know what Tony D’Angelo can do by now! In the end, it was the NXT North American Champion who picked up the win with his trademark Spinebuster before Shawn Spears stood tall after the match after Brooks delivered a chop-block to D’Angelo!

Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Karmen Petrovic were also getting ready in the back before Lexis King talked about his recent change in character. The NXT Tag Team Division were then still brawling backstage before Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Karmen Petrovic teamed up to take on the duo of Dion Lennox and Brinley Reece! Dion was very much in control of Ashante here, which was interesting, but Brinley Reece found herself distracted by Adonis long enough for Karmen to floor Reece with a kick to score the win!

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying Match: Zaria VS Wren Sinclair, Fatal Influence Promo

Ridge Holland said he’s about to become the Number 1 Contender for the NXT Championship before Zaria took on Wren Sinclair in another Women’s Iron Survivor Qualifier! I really like Wren Sinclair, but she had literally a negative percent chance of winning this match! Whilst Wren managed to get a bit of offense in, it only took a Spear followed by an F5 for Zaria to book her ticket to NXT Deadline!

Tony D’Angelo was very annoyed with Ava backstage, as was Eddy Thorpe, before Fatal Influence came out to cut a promo about why they’re so great. Fallon Henley said that she’s a fighting Champion which is why she’ll defend her NXT Women’s North American Championship in an Open Challenge next week! The call was originally answered by Meta-Four, but Nikkita Lyons arrived to say that she wants an opportunity at winning Gold! This is when a brawl broke out which ultimately resulted in Tatum Paxley sneaking in from behind to drop Henley with her finisher!

NXT Championship Number 1 Contender’s Match: Andre Chase VS Ridge Holland

Credit: Wrestling Headlines

After Nikkita Lyons threw friction into the “relationship” between Ashante “Thee” Adonis and Karmen Petrovic, Ethan Page said he’s going to win the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, and Axiom told Nathan Frazer that he’s going to be All Ego’s opponent in a Qualifying Match next week, it was Main Event time as Andre Chase collided with Ridge Holland in what was about more than just becoming the Number 1 Contender to the NXT Championship! See, the other stipulation involved was that if Ridge Holland beat Andre Chase, Chase University as we know it would end! So what took place was a pretty exciting and dramatic clash, which included a ref bump thanks to Duke Hudson before Ridge sent Duke crashing through the Podium/Platform area! Riley Osbourne then did a dive which accidentally took out Thea Hail before Holland dropped Osbourne onto the exposed floor! All of this fired up Mr. Chase who went on a rampage, but it wasn’t quite enough as in the end, a second Redeemer from Holland to Chase was enough for Ridge to book his ticket to NXT Deadline whilst also putting an end to Chase University! This was sad!
