NXT kicked off this week with Bayley looking to teach Cora Jade a lesson! This match was fine, it was smooth sailing in the sense that nothing bad happened, and I thought it flowed well. Cora is definitely getting better in my opinion whilst Bayley is one of the GOAT’s for a reason! Interestingly, Bayley’s old theme hit as Roxanne Perez came out in a cosplay outfit to distract The Role Model, and this actually allowed Cora Jade to deliver not 1, but 2 Jaded’s to get the win! After the match, Ava confirmed that Saturday’s NXT Women’s Championship Match will now be a Fatal 4-Way, and to say that Roxanne was annoyed would be an understatement!

A-Town Down Under Interrupt Oba Femi, Hank and Tank VS Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura VS No Quarter Catch Crew
Nikkita Lyons claimed that Sol Ruca is holding Zaria back which annoyed the Australian Powerhouse before Oba Femi came down to the ring to talk about how his NXT Championship defense on Saturday is more of a Handicap Match than a Triple Threat! However, Oba also knows that both Austin Theory and Grayson Waller’s egos are too big and that eventually, they’ll just screw each other over which is why The Ruler’s not worried at all! This brought out A-Town Down Under who said they expected more out of Femi before both Theory and Waller took verbal shots at each other about why they deserve the NXT Championship more! However, this was all just a ruse for A-Town Down Under to lay out the NXT Champ before both men held up the belt! There were actually some good moments in this segment, but the feud in itself is very filler!

Eddy Thorpe cut a video promo about being overlooked before he challenged Trick Williams to a Strap Match! Je’Von Evans was then given the all-clear to compete at NXT Vengeance Day, but with the risks of reinjury high, Ava made Je’Von sign a clause that basically makes his match with Ethan Page “Unsanctioned”! It was then time for a Triple Threat Tag Team Match as Hank and Tank, No Quarter Catch Crew, and Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura clashed as Axiom and Nathan Frazer watched on! I thought this was a fun match, I always enjoy watching Hank and Tank, and the NQCC are really good! Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura also worked well together here which is a positive sign, and this match really was about them as Briggs and Inamura were able to get the win following a nice combo of moves! After the match, FRAXIOM agreed that Briggs and Inamura deserve a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships which is why the two teams will face off at NXT Vengeance Day!

NXT Heritage Cup: Lexis King VS JDC, Nikkita Lyons VS Zaria

After Tony D’Angelo hyped up Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and the rest of The D’Angelo Family, Lexis King was ready to put his NXT Heritage Cup on the line against TNA Wrestler JDC! With Lexis King now as Champion, the traditional rules have gone, and this is simply just a singles match. On the one hand, that’s not a bad thing as it can potentially make the Cup feel more important, but there’s also an argument to be made that its uniqueness has now gone! The crowd were definitely behind JDC here, and the former Fashion Police nearly got the win following his trademark leg drop! However, in the end, after some dirty tactics from Lexis, The King was able to drop JDC with the Coronation to get the win and retain his NXT Heritage Cup!

Neither Bayley nor Roxanne Perez were happy with Ava’s decision to add Cora Jade into the upcoming NXT Women’s Championship Match, but Cora told Roxanne that she was going to prove her right when it comes to “finally” winning a Championship! Kelani Jordan then demanded another shot at the NXT Women’s North American Championship, but Jaida Parker walked in to say the same before Ashante “Thee” Adonis interrupted all of this to tell Fallon Henley that Karmen Petrovic deserves the opportunity! Nikkita Lyons was then out next as The Lyoness of NXT was ready to go one-on-one with Zaria! This match was just here, it really didn’t mean much, and it was over relatively quickly too. It was simply all about getting Zaria another win on her resume, and that it’s quite clear that Nikkita Lyons’ stock has significantly dropped from where it once was! Ultimately, Zaria would get the win with a Z5, and that’s honestly all she wrote!

Ethan Page made it crystal clear that he will put an end to Je’Von Evans for good on Saturday before Trick Williams accepted Eddy Thorpe’s challenge for a Strap Match at Vengeance Day! Ricky Starks then made a surprising debut as Starks came through the crowd to a positive reaction! I’m very interested to see what Ricky can do in NXT! Stephanie Vaquer then hinted that she potentially wants more than just the NXT Women’s North American Championship before Mr. Chase continued to look depressed!
NXT North American Championship Steel Cage Match: Tony D’Angelo VS Ridge Holland
![Credit: Wrestling Noticias](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/51195f_9d8af6eeeb8d40fdb78c221d44b6acce~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_980,h_551,al_c,q_90,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/51195f_9d8af6eeeb8d40fdb78c221d44b6acce~mv2.png)
It was then Main Event time as Tony D’Angelo and Ridge Holland clashed inside of a Steel Cage with the NXT North American Championship on the line! This was a decent match, nothing to write home about, but I will say that a couple of the bumps into the Steel Cage looked pretty nasty! I also went into this match expecting Ridge Holland to win which is why I brought a near-fall following Ridge hitting Tony in the back of the head with a crowbar (which was introduced by both Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Izzi Dame) before The Don was able to bounce back and hit the Spinebuster to get the win! After the match, Holland brawled to the back with Stacks and Luca Crusifino before Shawn Spears and his crew arrived! This is when Izzi Dame “turned” on Tony D, hitting him in the back with a crowbar before Spears, Brooks, and Vance beat the heck out of the North American Champion! I’m glad Izzi’s with Shawn Spears, I think they can do a lot of good things going forward!
