Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Nathan Frazer VS Ethan Page VS Wes Lee VS Je’Von Evans VS ?
NXT Deadline 2024 kicked off with the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge as Wes Lee and Je’Von Evans kicked off the match with a fun little battle! Wes actually managed to take the lead by pinning Je’Von just as Nathan Frazer arrived before we got some high-flying action between 3 great performers! Ethan Page was then out next, but it didn’t start particularly well for the former NXT Champion as he got rolled up by Nathan Frazer almost immediately! However, as soon as he left the penalty box, Page pinned Frazer to get himself on the scoreboard! At the 15-minute mark, the mystery final competitor was revealed to be Oba Femi who came and cleaned house, getting an early pinfall on Je’Von Evans! Amazingly, after Evans pinned Lee, it was all square with about 5 minutes to go, but we then got the best part of the match as after Ethan Page pinned Oba Femi, Je’Von pinned Page meaning All Ego had to enter the penalty box with The Ruler of NXT! As expected, Oba destroyed Ethan in the box before he came out and delivered a double chokeslam to pin Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer to get 2 falls which was enough for Femi to be crowned as this year’s Men’s Iron Survivor! This was good fun, Oba Femi and Ethan Page were particularly great, and this caps off what has been a terrific year for Mr. Femi!

Lola Vice VS Jaida Parker: NXT Underground
It was then time to head Underground as Jaida Parker clashed with Lola Vice! This was fine, if you’ve been reading for a while you’ll know that I’m not a fan of these kinds of matches, but this was actually one of the better ones! Jaida Parker looked good here, she was actually in control for more than I expected, but despite all of that, it was Lola Vice who picked up the win after knocking Miss Parker out!

NXT Tag Team Championships: Axiom and Nathan Frazer VS No Quarter Catch Crew
It was then time for the first Championship match of the night as Axiom and Nathan Frazer put their NXT Tag Team Titles on the line against the No Quarter Catch Crew! This was the best match of the night in my opinion, and we shouldn’t really be surprised given FRAXIOM’s track record! There was also a lot of story involved here as Frazer was battered from his earlier Iron Survivor Challenge match meaning Axiom had to do a lot of the heavy lifting for the Champions! Also, No Quarter Catch Crew stepped up here, I thought this was both Myles Borne and Tavion Heights’ best performances of their career, and they came so close to winning after their Tag Team finisher! However, despite everything, Axiom managed to nick a roll-up victory to fully prove why FRAXIOM are the Best Tag Team in the World!

NXT Championship: Trick Williams VS Ridge Holland
The penultimate match of the show saw Trick Williams go one-on-one with Ridge Holland with the NXT Championship on the line! I thought this was the weakest match of the show, it simply wasn’t exciting enough for me, I just don’t find Ridge Holland an exciting talent to watch. I mean, it wasn’t terrible, there was a great bit where Trick somehow managed to get his neck trapped between the ropes, but other than that, this was kind of missable! In the end, Trick Willy was able to get the win with a Trick Shot, and I will look forward to the next NXT Championship match at New Year’s Evil!

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Giulia VS Stephanie Vaquer VS Sol Ruca VS Zaria VS Wren Sinclair
And in the Main Event of NXT Deadline 2024, Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Sol Ruca, Zaria, and Wren Sinclair all fought for the right to be known as the latest Women’s Iron Survivor! The match started with Giulia and Wren Sinclair, and it was a very technical affair before Sol Ruca came out at Number 3! Just before Zaria entered the fray, Giulia was able to get the first score on the board by pinning Wren Sinclair before Sinclair re-entered the penalty box almost immediately after getting her Sol Snatched by Sol Ruca! Stephanie Vaquer was the final competitor to enter the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge as Zaria pinned Giulia before Stephanie rolled up Wren! With less than a minute to go, Sinclair re-entered the match and rolled up Ruca to tie everyone up at 1-fall each, but then, with just 9 seconds to go, Giulia nailed Zaria with a knee to pick up the win and be crowned as the 2024 Women’s Iron Survivor! Whilst this wasn’t as good as the men’s, it was still good, I thought Wren Sinclair and Sol Ruca were the stars of the match, and yeah, congrats to Giulia!
