NFL Week 7 Preview and Predictions: Part 1

Teams on a Bye Week

Minnesota Vikings: 5-1

Philadelphia Eagles: 6-0

Los Angeles Rams: 3-3

Buffalo Bills: 5-1

(2-4) New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals (2-4)

Arizona suffered their second loss in a row as they came out on the losing side against the Seattle Seahawks (19-9). The Cardinals find themselves bottom of the NFC West, but they are still only one win away from top spot due to fellow NFC West teams struggling for consistency. As for New Orleans, they couldn’t keep in the winning column for very long as they suffered a frustrating loss at home to the Cincinnati Bengals (30-26). The Saints are currently third in the NFC South but just like Arizona, they are still right in the fight for the division title due to others struggles. Overall, I am picking the Arizona Cardinals to win this football game. A loss for either of these teams on Thursday Night Football would really put them in a bad way.

(3-3) Atlanta Falcons @ Cincinnati Bengals (3-3)

The Cincinatti Bengals pulled out a big win last week away from home against the New Orleans Saints. The Bengals are really starting to find their form on offense and they currently sit second in the AFC North. As for Atlanta, they played really well in Week 6 and beat the San Francisco 49ers 28-14 as a result of it. Like the Bengals, the Falcons are second in their division (NFC South) and level with the team in first. Let’s see just how long the Falcons can keep it up. Overall, I am confident that the Cincinnati Bengals will get the W. I could see Joe Burrow going on a good run and that will carry the Bengals to a lot of wins.

(1-4) Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys (4-2)

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles that could really hurt their chances for winning the division. They are also now third in the NFC East, but I would still rather be a Cowboys fan than nearly every other team in the NFL if I based it on records. As for Detroit, they come into Week 7 off the back of a bye week. The Lions currently sit bottom of the NFC North. Overall, I am picking the Cowboys to win. This “should” be a comfortable afternoon for Dallas.

(3-2-1) Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans (3-2)

The Tennessee Titans had a bye week last week. Before that, they were on a 3-game winning streak. They also currently still sit top of the AFC South. As for Indianapolis, they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars last week to continue their winning run. They are sitting second in the AFC South. Overall, I am going with the Tennessee Titans. When the Titans are on form, they are such a hard team to beat. Also, this feels like a massive game for Indianapolis. A loss could really hurt them.

(3-3) Green Bay Packers @ Washington Commanders (2-4)

The Washington Commanders pulled out an important win last time out to keep their season slightly alive. They still sit comfortably bottom of the NFC East, but they can try to build off last week's win. As for Green Bay, they just don’t look right at the moment. Last week, they suffered their second “home” loss in a row against a team from New York and if this continues, I can’t see Aaron Rodgers staying around for too much longer. The Packers currently sit third in the NFC North. Overall, I am going with the Green Bay Packers. On paper, they are the much stronger side. Also, it’s a must win game for both teams which creates a bit of intrigue.

(3-3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers (1-5)

The Carolina Panthers are an awful football team. They were beaten by the Los Angeles Rams last week (24-10) and they just look like they have no clue how to win games. The Panthers sit bottom of the NFC South. As for Tampa Bay, they suffered an incredibly disappointing defeat at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers (20-18). They are still top of the NFC South but that doesn’t change the fact that they have been really disappointing. Overall, I am going with the Bucs. The loss last week means a win for Carolina isn’t impossible but surely Tom Brady won’t allow another terrible slip-up.

(5-1) New York Giants @ Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4)

The Jacksonville Jaguars have completely dropped off. After looking pretty good through 3 weeks, they now find themselves coming into week 7 on the back of a 3-game losing streak. The Jags sit third in the AFC South. As for New York, they continue to shock the world. They managed to beat the Baltimore Ravens last week to give themselves their 3rd successive victory. They currently sit second in the NFC East. Overall, I believe that the Giants are going to win this game. Given how well they have done, it would be a setback if they lost this game.
