NFL Week 16 Preview and Predictions: Part 2

(5-9) Atlanta Falcons @ Baltimore Ravens (9-5)

The Baltimore Ravens have conceded first place in the AFC North after they suffered a poor loss against the Cleveland Browns (3-13). As it stands, the Ravens sit second in the AFC North and if the season ended today, Baltimore would be playing as the number 5 seed. As for Atlanta, they suffered a defeat to the New Orleans Saints which has now made their playoff dreams look like a very tough ask. As it stands, the Falcons sit bottom of the NFC South and if the season ended today, the Falcons would finish as the 13th-best team in the NFC yet they are only one win off of the playoffs. Overall, I am going with Baltimore. This is the perfect game for Baltimore to bounce back in. Even if they miss out on the AFC North title, winning games before the playoffs start is vitally important.

(7-6-1) Washington Commanders @ San Francisco 49ers (10-4)

The San Francisco 49ers were able to secure the NFC West title after they beat the Seahawks in Seattle (21-13). As it stands, the Niners are top of the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would take the number 3 seed into the playoffs. As for Washington, they suffered a killer loss against division rivals the New York Giants (20-12). As it stands, the Commanders sit bottom of the NFC East and if the season ended today, they would still make the playoffs but only as the number 7 seed. Overall, I am picking the 49ers to win this game. San Francisco are 7-0 in their last 7 games and they don’t look like they are going to be stopped right now. Another loss for Washington really will put them in a tricky spot.

(13-1) Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys (10-4)

The Dallas Cowboys’ hopes for winning the NFC East were all but ended last week after they suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars (34-40). As it stands, the Cowboys sit second in the NFC East and if the season ended today, the Cowboys would be on the road as the number 5 seed. As for Philadelphia, they made it 13 wins from 14 with a tough-fought win over the Chicago Bears (25-20). As it stands, the Eagles sit top of the NFC East and if the season ended today, they would take the number 1 seed. Overall, I’m actually going to go with the Cowboys. Even though they lost to the Jags, they are still a pretty good team. Also, Philly are going to be without Jalen Hurts for this game and he really is their MVP.

(6-8) Las Vegas Raiders @ Pittsburgh Steelers (6-8)

The Pittsburgh Steelers kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a good win on the road in Carolina. (24-16). As it stands, the Steelers sit bottom of the AFC North and if the season ended today, they would finish as the 4th worst team in the AFC. As for Las Vegas, they pulled out a big win over the New England Patriots (24-30) to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. As it stands, the Raiders sit third in the AFC West and if the season ended today, LV would finish 2 games off of the playoffs. Overall, I am picking Las Vegas. Both teams have really improved after a pretty dreadful first half of the season but I doubt it’s enough for either team to make the playoffs. I’m going with the Raiders due to the fact that I rate them more.

(6-8) Green Bay Packers @ Miami Dolphins (8-6)

Last week, the Miami Dolphins suffered their third consecutive defeat, this time to the Buffalo Bills (29-32). As it stands, the Dolphins sit second in the AFC East and if the season ended today, they would only get in as the number 7 seed which is actually quite disappointing. As for Green Bay, they picked up a 24-12 victory over the Los Angeles Rams to keep their season alive. As it stands, the Packers sit third in the NFC North and if the season ended today, Green Bay would miss out on the playoffs. Overall, I’m picking Green Bay to win this game. The Packers have the momentum whilst the Dolphins only seem to know how to lose at the moment. A win for Green Bay keeps their playoff hopes alive too whilst a loss for the Dolphins puts them in serious threat of not even playing in the postseason.

(4-10) Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Rams (4-10)

When the schedule was originally released, this game was expected to be a massive battle between two teams trying to win their divisions. Now, it’s just a game between two of the worst teams in football. The LA Rams went back into the losing column last week after a poor display against the Green Bay Packers. As it stands, the Rams sit bottom of the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would finish as the runners-up in the battle for the worst team in the NFC. As for Denver, they actually managed to pick up a win last week, beating the Arizona Cardinals 24-15. As it stands, the Broncos sit bottom of the AFC West and if the season ended today, they would finish as the runners-up in the battle for the worst team in the AFC. Overall, I am going with the Broncos. To be honest, I don’t actually have a reason for this pick, it’s just what I’m going with.

(6-8) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Arizona Cardinals (4-10)

Last week's defeat to the Denver Broncos means the Arizona Cardinals have lost all of their last 4 games. As it stands, the Cardinals sit third in the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would finish as the third-worst team in the NFC. As for Tampa, they are holding onto the NFC South by the tip of their tongue. As it stands, the Bucs sit top of the NFC South and if the season ended today, they would take the number 4 seed. Overall, I am picking the Bucs to come out victorious. It’s been a pretty bad year for both teams but at least Tampa Bay can say that they are in a playoff fight. Even though not officially, a win here could be enough to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host a playoff game in January.

(8-6) Los Angeles Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts (4-9-1)

The Indianapolis Colts are becoming a joke. They’ve been rubbish for most of the season and it got worse last week as they managed to let a 33-0 lead slip against the Minnesota Vikings. As it stands, the Colts sit third in the AFC South and if the season ended today, they would finish as the third-worst team in the AFC. As for LA, they picked up a good win over the Tennessee Titans that puts them in a great position in the AFC Wildcard race. As it stands, the Chargers sit second in the AFC West and if the season ended today, they would take the number 6 seed. Overall, I am picking the Chargers. Justin Herbert and the Chargers are playing good stuff at the moment whilst the Colts are not. A big win incoming on Monday Night Football.
