(6-8) Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets (7-7)
The New York Jets suffered another disappointing defeat, this time against the Detroit Lions (20-17). As it stands, the Jets sit bottom of the AFC East and if the season ended today, the Jets would miss out on the playoffs. As for Jacksonville, they picked up a critical victory over the Dallas Cowboys (40-34) to keep themselves in the fight for the AFC South. As it stands, the Jags sit second in the AFC South and if the season ended today, they would finish just 1 game off of the playoffs. Overall, I am picking the Jags to win this game. Jacksonville are on a two-game winning streak and they are climbing their way into a playoff fight whilst the Jets are on a 3 match-losing streak and falling away from their playoff dreams.
(11-3) Buffalo Bills @ Chicago Bears (3-11)
The Chicago Bears suffered their 7th successive loss last week but they did a decent job against the best team in the NFL. As it stands, the Bears sit bottom of the NFC North and if the season ended today, they would finish with the second-worst record in the league. As for Buffalo, they made it 5 wins from 5 after they picked up a victory over the Miami Dolphins (32-29) that all but secures themselves as the AFC East winners. As it stands, the Bills sit top of the AFC East and if the season ended today, Buffalo would take the number 1 seed in the AFC. Overall, I am going with the Bills. Just like normal, I could see this game being quite close but the Bills will have enough in the end.
(5-9) New Orleans Saints @ Cleveland Browns (6-8)
The Cleveland Browns can be happy with the fact that they were able to pick up the victory against the Baltimore Ravens last week but it won’t make much difference to them playing post-season football. As it stands, the Browns sit third in the AFC North and if the season ended today, they would end up finishing as the 12th-best team in the AFC. As for New Orleans, they managed to pick up a win over the New Orleans Saints which quite ridiculously, keeps them in the playoff race. As it stands, the Saints sit third in the NFC South and if the season ended today, they would miss out on the playoffs by just 1 game. Overall, I am going to go with the Browns. In my opinion, the Browns are the better team. However, the Saints are the only team with something to fight for which is quite interesting.
(1-12-1) Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans (7-7)
The Tennessee Titans have now lost 4 games in a row and they are getting seriously close to losing their spot in the playoffs. As it stands, the Titans still sit top of the AFC South and if the season ended today, they would get in as the number 4 seed. As for Houston, they put on a great show against the Kansas City Chiefs but they still ended up stretching their losing streak to 9 games. As it stands, the Texans sit bottom of the AFC South and if the season ended today, they would take the number 1 pick in the draft. Overall, the Titans are winning this game. Both teams can’t win a game right now and I’ll be honest, if the Titans lose to the Texans, they don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
(7-7) Seattle Seahawks @ Kansas City Chiefs (11-3)
The Kansas City Chiefs sealed the AFC West last week after getting over the line in Houston (30-24). As it stands, they sit top of the AFC West and if the season ended today, Kansas would be playing in the Wildcard round as the number 2 seed. As for Seattle, they suffered a 21-13 defeat over the San Francisco 49ers. As it stands, the Seahawks sit second in the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would just miss out on a spot in the playoffs. Overall, I am picking the Chiefs to win this game. In their last 5 games, the Chiefs are 4-1 whilst the Seahawks are 1-4. This shows that the Chiefs are consistently good at winning games whilst the Seahawks’ great season is starting to crumble.
(8-5-1) New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings (11-3)
The Minnesota Vikings are a crazy football team! They were losing 33-0 to the Indianapolis Colts at halftime before they came out as 39-36 winners (a new NFL record for the biggest comeback). As it stands, the Vikings have sealed the NFC North and if the season ended today, they would take the number 2 seed. As for New York, they picked up the biggest win of their season by going to Washington and defeating the Commanders 20-12. As it stands, the Giants sit third in the NFC East and if the season ended today, they would take the number 6 seed. Overall, I am going to pick the Vikings. This game is a close one to call, both teams can win this game and both teams can lose this game. However, I think the Vikings have enough to get the job done.
(10-4) Cincinnati Bengals @ New England Patriots (7-7)
The New England Patriots suffered a killer loss last week to the Las Vegas Raiders that has hindered their playoff hopes. As it stands, the Patriots sit third in the AFC East and if the season ended today, they would miss out on the playoffs. As for Cincinnati, they picked up a victory in Tampa Bay last week that extends their winning run to 6 games. As it stands, the Bengals sit top of the AFC North and if the season ended today, they would take the number 3 seed. Overall, I am going to pick the Bengals to win this game. If Cincinnati play at their best, I don’t think anyone can beat them to be honest. Despite that, New England need to win this game if they want to keep themselves in the playoff fight.
(7-7) Detroit Lions @ Carolina Panthers (5-9)
The Carolina Panthers missed a big opportunity last week in their defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers at home (24-16). As it stands, the Panthers sit second in the NFC South and if the season ended today, they would miss out on the playoffs. As for Detroit, they made it 6 wins from 7 after pulling off a great win in New York against the Jets (20-17). As it stands, the Lions sit second in the NFC North and if the season ended today, they would just miss out on the playoffs. Overall, I am picking the Lions to win this game. They are on a roll right now and Carolina can’t seem to pick up a big win. Who had Detroit to make the playoffs at the start of the season?
