NFL Week 14 Preview and Predictions: Part 2

(11-1) Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants (7-4-1)

The New York Giants participated in a tie last week with fellow NFC East side the Washington Commanders (20-20). As it stands, the Giants sit third in the NFC East and if the season ended today, they would still make it into the playoffs as the number 6 seed. As for Philadelphia, they were meant to be challenged by the Tennessee Titans but in fact, they blew them away in a 35-10 win. As it stands, the Eagles sit top of the NFC East and if the season ended today, they would take the number 1 seed and advance straight through to the Divisional Round. Overall, I am picking the Eagles. The Giants are really starting to drop off a bit whilst the Eagles look like they might be getting even better which is quite scary.

(8-4) Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers (5-7)

The Pittsburgh Steelers made it 2 wins in a row as they went to Atlanta and beat the Falcons 19-16. As it stands, the Steelers still sit bottom of the AFC North and if the season ended today, they would finish a couple games short of making the playoffs. As for Baltimore, they managed to just about get over the line against the Denver Broncos in a 10-9 victory. As it stands, the Ravens sit top of the AFC North and if the season ended today, they would take the number 3 seed. Overall, I am going to pick the Steelers to win this one. Why, three reasons. The first reason is that Lamar Jackson looks to be injured and he is a massive of the Ravens team. Second reason is because I’ve predicted the Steelers to win the last 2 weeks and they have. Third reason is because it’s Baltimore.

(9-3) Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos (3-9)

The Denver Broncos suffered a ridiculous 10-9 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens last week which now means they are on a 4 game losing streak. As it stands, the Broncos sit bottom of the AFC West and if the season ended today, the would finish as the second worst team in the AFC. As for Kansas, their winning run was ended by the Cincinnati Bengals last week (24-27). As it stands, they still sit comfortably top of the AFC West and if the season ended today, they would take the number 2 seed. Overall, I am going with the Chiefs. I think this is one of the easiest games I will ever have to predict. That’s something I never expected to say at the start of the year.

(6-6) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ San Francisco 49ers (8-4)

The San Francisco 49ers picked up a huge victory last week over the Miami Dolphins (33-17). It also means that they are the only team who have won all 5 of their previous games. However, Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a season ending injury (broken foot) which has pretty much ruined all hope that the Niners had. As it stands, they sit top of the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would take the Number 3 seed. As for Tampa Bay, they picked up a crucial win over the New Orleans Saints to put them in pole position in the race to win the NFC South. As it stands, the Bucs sit top of the NFC South and if the season ended today, they would take the number 4 seed. Overall, I am going with the 49ers. I think this game will be close and their is definetly more pressure on this Niners team now that Jimmy G is out. It’s going to be up to the defense to stop Tom Brady and I think they are good enough to do that.

(4-8) Carolina Panthers @ Seattle Seahawks (7-5)

Geno Smith’s late touchdown winner against the Los Angeles Rams was one of the biggest moments in Seattle’s season. As it stands, the Seahawks sit second in the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would sneak into the playoffs as the number 7 seed. As for Carolina, they come into this game off the back of their bye week which saw Baker Mayfield get his leavers notice. As it stands, the Panthers sit third in the NFC South and if the season ended today, they would finish a long way off the playoffs. Overall, I am going with the Seahawks. I expect Seattle to build on last weeks result and also, they are more than good enough to get the victory. Also, Carolina are 0-5 on the road. Yikes!

(8-4) Miami Dolphins @ Los Angeles Chargers (6-6)

The Los Angeles Chargers suffered another frustrating loss last week, this time against the Las Vegas Raiders (20-27). As it stands, the Chargers sit second in the AFC West and if the season ended today, they would disappointingly miss out on the playoffs. As for Miami, they suffered their first loss of the season last week with Tua Tagovailoa as starting QB in a poor display against the San Francisco 49ers. As it stands, the Dolphins sit second in the AFC East and if the season ended today, the Dolphins would end up only taking the number 6 seed. Overall, I am going with the Dolphins. Last weeks performance was a reminder that as good as Tua has been, he still isn’t in the category of elite Quarterbacks yet. However, the Dolphins are a stronger team than the Chargers who are just inconsistent. I had them to win the Super Bowl this year, that ain’t happening.

(6-6) New England Patriots @ Arizona Cardinals (4-8)

The Arizona Cardinals spent their bye week trying to work out why their season has gone so wrong. As it stands, the Cardinals sit third in the NFC West and if the season ended today, they would be a dismal 3 wins away from the playoffs. As for New England, they suffered a 24-10 defeat at home to the Buffalo Bills that raised question as to whether or not the Patriots are good enough to be in the playoffs. As it stands, the Patriots sit bottom of the AFC East and if the season ended today, they would finish 1 place outside the playoffs. Overall, I am backing the Patriots to win this one. Arizona are 1-6 at home this season and even thought the Pats are struggling a bit, they aren’t struggling as much as the Cardinals. A loss here would almost end the Patriots hopes of making the playoffs.
