NFL Week 12 Preview and Predictions: Part 1

(7-3) Buffalo Bills @ Detroit Lions (4-6)

In quite unbelievable scenes, the Detroit Lions are on a 3-game winning streak. They went to New York last week to take on the very in-form Giants and they managed to beat them 31-18. The win means they now sit second in the NFC North. As for Buffalo, they picked up a really important victory against the Cleveland Browns (31-23). Incredibly, that game was played in Detroit due to crazy weather in Buffalo meaning the Bills will play in Ford Field for the second time in the space of four days. Buffalo currently sit second in the AFC East. Overall, I am going with the Bills. The Lions are on a good run of form, but I still fully expect Josh Allen and the Bills are good enough to get the job done.

(7-3) New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys (7-3)

A massive game takes place on Thursday as the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants. On paper, Dallas were facing a tough task on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. What did they do, they went and decimated them 40-3. I’m pretty sure that result is the definition of a statement victory. The Cowboys currently sit second in the NFC East. As for New York, they suffered a very disappointing loss at home to the Detroit Lions. If they end up missing out on the playoffs by 1 win, they’ll never, ever forgive themselves. The Giants currently sit third in the NFC East. Overall, I am picking the Cowboys to win this game. It should be an exciting matchup between the two teams, but I rate the Cowboys more than the Giants. A loss for the Giants wouldn’t be great for them but they 100% cannot afford to get thrashed.

(6-4) New England Patriots @ Minnesota Vikings (8-2)

The Minnesota Vikings suffered a pretty shocking 40-3 loss last week at HOME against the Dallas Cowboys. However, the loss won’t hurt them too much when it comes to winning their division. As for New England, they picked up a big win against the New York Jets last week to move them right into playoff contention. The Patriots currently sit third in the AFC East. Overall, I am going to go with the Patriots. They are currently on a 3-game winning streak and I think momentum could be key in such a close game like this one. A great way to end Thanksgiving Football.

(5-5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Cleveland Browns (3-7)

The Cleveland Browns suffered their second successive loss last week away to the Bills in Detroit. The loss means they sit third in the AFC North and the likelihood of them making the playoffs is very slim. As for Tampa Bay, they spent their bye week last week in a positive manor after winning two games in a row. They still sit top of the AFC South too. Overall, I am going with the Bucs. They are the stronger team and also, the Browns will likely improve next week given the fact that Deshaun Watson is returning to the NFL.

(6-4) Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee Titans (7-3)

Another great Week 12 matchup takes place as the 7-3 Tennessee Titans take on the 6-4 Cincinnati Bengals. The Titans come into this game on a 2-game winning streak which includes a road win against the Green Bay Packers (27-17). The Titans currently sit top of the AFC South with a healthy margin to the teams behind. As for Cincinnati, they went to Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers 37-30 meaning they are also on a 2-game winning streak. The Bengals currently sit second in the AFC North and this is an important game in their hopes of making the playoffs. Overall, I am picking the Titans to win this game. Both teams are really good and both teams will believe that they have the quality to make the playoffs, but I think the Titans will just about edge this one.

(1-8-1) Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins (7-3)

Let’s be honest, this is a typical game that Miami could end up losing. The Dolphins sat through their bye week last week feeling very good after 4 successive victories. The Dolphins are also top of the AFC East as well. As for Houston, they suffered their 5th consecutive defeat last week at home to the Washington Commanders. The Texans are currently bottom of the AFC South and the whole of the NFL for that matter. They just want the season to end so they can get a star QB in the draft. Overall, I am going with the Dolphins. It may be a typical game in which the quality team loses but that isn’t going to happen. Why? Because when Tua plays, Tua wins!

(3-8) Chicago Bears @ New York Jets (6-4)

The New York Jets suffered a frustrating 10-3 loss away to the Patriots last week. The loss means they have dropped down to last spot in the AFC East and there is a lot of pressure on the whole team coming into this game. As for Chicago, they went to Atlanta last week and lost 27-24 in a close game. The Bears currently sit bottom of the NFC North after losing 4 successive games. Overall, I am going with the Jets. Both teams sit bottom of their division yet there’s a big gap in quality between the two sides. That’s why the Jets should win, but according to a coin flip, the Jets are going to lose this game. For context, the coin flip has correctly predicted every Jets result so far this season.

(5-6) Atlanta Falcons @ Washington Commanders (6-5)

The Washington Commanders are 100% in the playoff race. The Commanders managed to get the job done in Houston last week (23-10) and even though they are still bottom of the NFC East, they have won 5 times in the last 6 weeks! As for Atlanta, they got an important victory at home to the Chicago Bears (27-24) to keep themselves in the playoff fight too. The Falcons currently sit second in the NFC South. Overall, I am going with the Commanders. This is a massive football game for both teams' seasons, but I feel like Washington are overall the better side. Should be interesting though.
