NFL Playoffs: Conference Championship Preview and Predictions

(13-4) San Francisco 49ers (2) @ (1) Philadelphia Eagles (14-3)

The NFC comes down to two teams as the Philadelphia Eagles host the San Francisco 49ers for a spot in the Super Bowl. The Philadelphia Eagles proved why they are the number 1 seed last week when they absolutely destroyed the New York Giants 38-7. Philly are coming into this game off the back of two consecutive wins and they will expect to win this game. The Eagles are 3-4 in the NFC Championship game. As for San Francisco, they were pushed by Dallas, but they picked up a 19-12 victory over the Cowboys in their final home game of the season. The Niners come into this game off the back of 12 straight victories and they will feel like it’s their destiny to make it back to the Super Bowl. The 49ers are 7-10 in the NFC Championship game. Overall, I’m picking the Eagles to win the NFC. There are countless amounts of reasons why both of these teams can/would win this game, but I have to go with the Eagles because of their amazing season. It’s gonna be very close though.

(12-4) Cincinnati Bengals (3) @ (1) Kansas City Chiefs (14-3)

In a rematch from last year, the Kansas City Chiefs host the Cincinnati Bengals for the right to be called the AFC Champions. The Kansas City Chiefs did enough to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round last week (27-20) to keep up Patrick Mahomes’ 100% record in the Divisional round. Kansas are coming into this game off the back of 6 straight wins and they are about to enter their 5th consecutive AFC Championship game. The Chiefs are 2-3 in the AFC Championship game. As for Cincinnati, they went to snowy Buffalo and they breezed through the Bills 27-10 to make it to this stage for the second consecutive season. The Bengals come into this game off the back of 10 straight wins and they are looking for their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. The Bengals are 3-0 in the AFC Championship game. Overall, I am going to say that the Chiefs are heading to Super Bowl 57. Cincinnati have looked amazing recently and during that ten-game winning streak, they actually knocked off the Chiefs. However, it’s Kansas City. Like the NFC Championship game, either of these teams can win this game, but I just can’t see Patrick Mahomes losing a second consecutive AFC Championship game at home to Joe Burrow.
