My ABB FIA Formula E Season 11 Predictions

With my ABB FIA Formula E Season 11 Preview now out, it’s time to make my Predictions for the upcoming season! We all know how these usually go, but hey, maybe this will finally be the year where I get some things right (but most likely not)?!

Credit: FIA Formula E

P22: David Beckmann

Credit: FIA Formula E

David Beckmann is finally getting his shot in ABB FIA Formula E! The 24-year-old German racing driver is driving for Kiro Race Co this season and his highest-ever Championship finish was 4th in the 2015 Italian F4 Championship! Whilst Beckmann is a Rookie, he drive twice for Andretti in 2023 (around Jakarta), and he’s also been Andretti’s and Porsche’s Reserve Driver over the past few years! Unfortunately, I don’t rate David very highly, and given the team he’s at, this year could be a real struggle for the Rookie!

P21: Lucas di Grassi

Credit: FIA Formula E

For the second-straight year, I expect Lucas di Grassi to be towards the rear of the Formula E Grid! The 40-year-old Brazilian racing driver is driving for Lola Yamaha ABT this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the Formula E Title in Season 3 (2017)! When it comes to Formula E, di Grassi has competed in every season, winning 13 E-Prix’s as well as a Drivers’ Championship! However, Lucas is coming off the back of two pretty poor seasons, and I just can’t see things turning around for him!

P20: Dan Ticktum

Credit: FIA Formula E

Despite the team changing their name once again, Dan Ticktum isn’t going anywhere! The 25-year-old British racing driver is driving for Kiro Race Co this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he finished second in the 2018 FIA Formula 3 European Championship (behind Mick Schumacher)! When it comes to Formula E, Ticktum has been around for 3 seasons now, scoring 41 points, and having a highest Championship finish of P17 (Season 9)! I think Dan Ticktum will 100% beat his teammate this year, but I expect Kiro to be pretty poor, and there’s not much Dan can do with that!

P19: Edoardo Mortara

Credit: FIA Formula E

I’m worried that Season 11 could be Edoardo Mortara’s final year in the series! The 37-year-old Swiss-Italian-French racing driver is driving for Mahindra Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2010 Formula 3 Euro Series! When it comes to Formula E, Mortara has driven in 7 seasons, winning 6 Races whilst his highest Championship finish was second back in 2021! I like Edo Mortara, but I think Mahindra are going to really struggle again this year, and that’s why I have Edo down so low!

P18: Nyck de Vries

Credit: FIA Formula E

My concerns with Mahindra mean I have Nyck de Vries to finish P18 for the second straight year! The 29-year-old Dutch racing driver is driving for Mahindra Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finishes have come when he won the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Titles in 2014, the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship, and he was also the inaugural Formula E World Champion back in 2021! When it comes to Formula E, de Vries has raced for 4 seasons, winning 4 E-Prix’s and a Championship Title! Unfortunately for Nyck, the last few years have been a bit rough, and given the team he’s at, I can’t see it getting much better!

P17: Zane Maloney

Credit: FIA Formula E

After a positive Junior Formula Career, Zane Maloney arrives on the Formula E scene! The 21-year-old Barbadian racing driver is driving for Lola Yamaha ABT this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2019 F4 British Championship! Zane also enters Formula E as a runner-up in FIA Formula 3 (2022) whilst he’s currently 4th in the Formula 2 Standings! I rate Maloney highly, but his car not so much! However, Zane beating his teammate in his Rookie year would be a really positive result!

P16: Norman Nato

Credit: Nissan

After a difficult year with Andretti, Norman Nato returns to Nissan! The 32-year-old French racing driver is driving for Nissan Formula E Team this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he finished second in the F4 Eurocup 1.6 (2010) and Formula Renault 2.0 Alps (2012) Championships! When it comes to Formula E, Nato has competed in 4 seasons, with the 1 win to his name (Berlin 2021) whilst his highest Championship finish was P10 in Season 9! Norman had a really bad year last year, so I could see this year being better because of the fact he’s moved back to Nissan, but I honestly don’t think it will change much!

P15: Sam Bird

Credit: FIA Formula E

It’s very important for Sam Bird that he is NEOM McLaren’s main man in 2025! The 37-year-old British racing driver is driving for NEOM McLaren this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the World Endurance Championship back in 2015! When it comes to Formula E, Bird has raced in every season, winning 12 E-Prix’s whilst his highest Championship finish was third in 2018 (Season 4)! It does kind of feel like Sam Bird has dropped off in the past couple of years, and even though he should be McLaren’s Number 1 this year, I actually think he might lose out to his Rookie teammate!

P14: Taylor Barnard

Credit: McLaren

After impressing in cameo appearances in Season 10, Taylor Barnard is ready for the main stage! The 20-year-old British racing driver is driving for NEOM McLaren this season and his highest-ever Championship finishes were second in ADAC Formula 4 (2022) as well as the 2023 and 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Championships! Barnard also featured in three E-Prix’s earlier in the year, finishing in the points on two of those occasions! I’ve been a big believer in Taylor Barnard for a while, to be the closest to Andrea Kimi Antonelli in certain Championships is impressive, as has been his ability to win in both F2 and F3 with the worst team! If it wasn’t for the team he’s with now, I would’ve put Taylor a lot higher up!

P13: Jake Hughes

Credit: e-Formula.news

After two years with McLaren, Jake Hughes is moving over to Maserati! The 30-year-old British racing driver is driving for Maserati MSG Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship! When it comes to Formula E, Hughes has completed 2 full seasons, scoring 1 Podium (Shanghai 2024) with his highest Championship finish being P12 in 2023! What I quite like about Jake Hughes is he scored the same amount of points in both of his seasons with NEOM McLaren, but I honestly expect him to score more this year as he’s in theory gone to a better team!

P12: Nico Muller

Credit: FIA Formula E

After a really strong end to Season 10, Nico Muller is rewarded with a big move up to Andretti! The 32-year-old Swiss racing driver is driving for Andretti Formula E this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2009 Swiss Formula Renault 2.0 Title! When it comes to Formula E, Muller has appeared in 4 seasons, scoring 1 Podium (Valencia 2022) whilst his highest Championship finish was 12th last season! Given Nico has gone from ABT to Andretti, he should be a lot higher in the Standings this year. However, his teammate has a bit of a reputation for being a “teammate-killer”, so that’s why I’ve ultimately put Muller in the same place as he finished last year!

P11: Sebastien Buemi

Credit: OMP Racing

I expect Sebastien Buemi to finish 11th for the second straight year! The 36-year-old Swiss racing driver is driving for Envision Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the World Endurance Championship on 5 separate occasions whilst his also a former Formula E Champion (back in Season 2)! When it comes to Formula E, Buemi has competed in every season since the beginning, winning 13 E-Prix’s and a Championship Title back in 2016! I feel like Sebastien Buemi is a really hard driver to predict, but I do think he’ll be beaten by his teammate again hence why he’s down in P11!

P10: Robin Frijns

Credit: Envision Racing

Whilst it will be tight, I think Robin Frijns will once again be Envision’s top scorer this season! The 33-year-old Dutch racing driver is driving for Envision Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finishes include Titles in Formula Renault, Eurocup Formula Renault, Blancpain GT Series, and the World Endurance Championship! When it comes to Formula E, Frijns has competed in 8 seasons, winning 2 Races, and his highest Championship finish was 4th in 2019 (Season 5)! Robin Frijns has always been a driver who delivers for Envision, and I think Robin can have another decent season, I mean beating your teammate is always a positive!

P9: Oliver Rowland

Credit: Nissan

After a brilliant 2024, can Oliver Rowland keep up his momentum throughout Season 11? The 32-year-old British racing driver is driving for Nissan Formula E Team this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2015 Formula Renault 3.5 Series! When it comes to Formula E, Rowland has raced properly since 2019, winning 3-Prix’s, and his highest Championship finish was 4th last year! I thought Oliver Rowland was absolutely brilliant last year, he smashed all expectations out of the water, but whether he can do it again is another story. However, don’t count out the boy from Barnsley!

P8: Stoffel Vandoorne

Credit: X

It’s a new era for Stoffel Vandoorne as the former Champion heads to Maserati MSG! The 32-year-old Belgium racing driver is driving for Maserati MSG Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finishes have come when he won the 2010 F4 Eurocup 1.6 Championship, the 2014 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Title, the 2015 GP2 Series, and Season 8 of ABB FIA Formula E! When it comes to Formula E, Vandoorne has competed in 6 seasons, winning 3 Races, and he brilliantly won the World Championship back in 2022! I rate Stoffel Vandoorne, I think he’s very good, but he didn’t have the most amazing two years with DS Penske, hence why I haven’t been able to put him any higher (I do expect Stoffel to go better with Maserati though)!

P7: Maximilian Gunther

Credit: FIA Formula E

In what was kind of a straight swap with Stoffel Vandoorne, Maximilian Gunther has left Maserati MSG to sign with DS Penske! The 27-year-old German racing driver is driving for DS Penske this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he finished second in the 2011 Formula BMW Talent Cup, the 2013 and 2014 ADAC Formel Masters, and the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship (ahead of George Russell and behind a certain Lance Stroll)! When it comes to Formula E, Gunther has competed in 6 seasons, winning 5 Races, and his highest Championship finish was 7th in 2023! Whilst 7th doesn’t sound like the most amazing, best Championship finish, I really like Max Gunther, I think he’s very quick, and he had two good years at Maserati! Moving to DS Penske is an entirely new challenge of course, but I think Gunther can handle it!

P6: Antonio Felix da Costa

Credit: FIA

Antonio Felix da Costa is hoping his form in the second half of Season 10 translates to the entirety of Season 11! The 33-year-old Portuguese racing driver is driving for TAG Heuer Porsche this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he the 2009 Formula Renault 2.0 NEC Title, Season 6 of ABB FIA Formula E (2020), and the 2022 World Endurance Championship! When it comes to Formula E, da Costa has raced in every season, winning 12 E-Prix’s, and a Championship Title in 2020! Antonio Felix da Costa is a great driver, and that’s why I have him ahead of some drivers that I rate highly. However, besides Antonio’s Championship-winning year, he hasn’t finished higher than 6th in the Standings, hence why I have him to finish 6th!

P5: Pascal Wehrlein

Credit: Total Motorsport

Pascal Wehrlein enters Season 11 looking to make it back-to-back Championships! The 30-year-old German racing driver is driving for TAG Heuer Porsche this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2011 ADAC Formel Masters, the 2015 DTM Title, and Season 10 of ABB FIA Formula E! When it comes to Formula E, Wehrlein has raced in 6 seasons, winning 7 Races, and a World Championship to boot! Pascal Wehrlein is so good, he’s fully deserving of being the reigning Champion, and the fact he’s scored points in 29 of the 32 E-Prix’s in the Gen3 Era is absolutely insane! However, there’s a curse when it comes to a Champions following season in Formula E, and given how it’s gone for previous Champions, I can’t put Pascal any higher (but I still think he’ll beat his teammate)!

P4: Jean-Eric Vergne

Credit: FIA Formula E

The wily-old fox that is Jean-Eric Vergne is back for yet another year in Formula E! The 34-year-old French racing driver is driving for DS Penske this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2010 British Formula 3 International Series as well as Season 4 and 5 of Formula E! When it comes to Formula E, Vergne has competed in every season, winning 11 Races, and he’s also the only ever 2-time FE Champion! I rate Jean-Eric Vergne so highly, he’s so consistent, he finished in the points in 14 of the 16 Races last season, and I think Vergne’s pretty much always a shoe in for a Top 5 Championship finish! I can’t see him winning the Title, but JEV will still have another great year!

P3: Mitch Evans

Credit: FIA Formula E

For yet another year, I think Mitch Evans is just going to miss out on the Formula E Title! The 30-year-old New Zealand racing driver is driving for Jaguar TCS Racing this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won both the 2010 and 2011 Toyota Racing Series as well as the 2012 GP3 Series Title! When it comes to Formula E, Evans has competed in the series for 8 years, winning 12 Races and his highest Championship finish was second in both 2022 (Season 8) and 2024 (Season 10)! Mitch is amazing, he’s so good, and he deserves to win this World Championship! Unfortunately for him, I think he’ll just miss out again!

P2: Jake Dennis

Credit: FIA Formula E

After a difficult year as the reigning World Champion, Jake Dennis is back to reclaim his crown! The 29-year-old British racing driver is driving for Andretti Formula E this season and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2012 Formula Renault 2.0 NEC Title before he was crowned as Formula E’s Season 9 Champion! When it comes to Formula E, Dennis has been here for 4 seasons, winning 6 Races and one World Championship (2023)! Last year was a difficult year for Jake Dennis, but that’s just how it goes for reigning FE Champions! There’s a risk putting Jake this high given what’s happened to recent FE Champs, but honestly, I was so close to putting Dennis to win this whole thing again cause that’s just how good he is!

P1: Nick Cassidy

Credit: FIA Formula E

For the second straight year, I have Nick Cassidy to be crowned as ABB FIA Formula E World Champion! The 30-year-old New Zealand racing driver is driving for Jaguar TCS Racing in 2024 and his highest-ever Championship finish came when he won the 2012 and 2013 Toyota Racing Series, the 2015 Japanese Formula E Championship, the 2017 Super GT Title, and the 2018 Japanese Super Formula Championship! When it comes to Formula E, Cassidy has appeared in 4 seasons, winning 7 E-Prix’s, and his highest Championship finish was P2 in 2023 (Season 9)! Nick Cassidy arguably could’ve won the Formula E Title the last two seasons, and he certainly should’ve won it in Season 10! This time, however, I think Nick will finally achieve his goal!
