My 2025 Formula 1 Season Predictions

Linus O'Howell

It’s now time for one of my favourite articles of the year as I make Predictions for the upcoming 2025 Formula 1 Season! As always with these, I will start with 10 Starter Predictions which are kind of just for fun before I will move on to ordering both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championship orders! Now, I have a good track record of cursing people in these articles, so don’t worry too much if I don’t have your favourites winning! Also, whilst this article is coming out after Pre-Season Testing, I made all of these Predictions before Testing, mainly because I find that to be an awful lot more fun! So, if you see certain teams and drivers that maybe had a good Test low down (or vice versa), that is why! Anyway, without further ado, it’s time to make some Predictions!

10 Starter Predictions

My first Starter Prediction is there will be 7 different Race winners in 2025! There were 7 different winners last year so I don’t think they’ll be more, but I will say that I feel I’m taking a little bit of a risk here (because I originally thought 6)!

My second Starter Prediction is 6 different teams will end up on the Podium this year! I’ve gone higher than last year’s total of 5 because I’d like to think the field will be closer this year (it really needs to be), and there’s certain drivers I fancy to score Podiums from the midfield!

My third Starter Prediction is there will be 4 different Sprint Winners in 2025! Given there’s only 6 Sprints all year, this amount is kind of high, but I also think the short format will favour different drivers more!

My fourth Starter Prediction is Andrea Kimi Antonelli will win a Sprint Race this year! I said the Sprint Format will favour certain drivers, and I very much think Kimi Antonelli is one of them, hence why I think he’ll win a Sprint this year! We’ll have to wait and see how he does in the main Grand Prix’s, but I think Antonelli’s pace will shine through in a shorter distance!

My fifth Starter Prediction is not every driver will score points, but every team will! Knowing me, I’m bound to get one part of this right, but I think it’s a fair Prediction to make that not every driver will score points this year, I mean it happened last year! In terms of the Constructors’, I’d like to think that if Kick Sauber could score points last year and Williams could score a point in 2019, then no team should be going pointless this year!

My sixth Starter Prediction is 23 different drivers will start a Race this year! Honestly, I think it’s too easy to predict that at least 1 other driver will compete properly this season, so I’m going a bit bolder and will say that 3 different drivers who aren’t currently on the Grid make an appearance in a Grand Prix this season! Also, just as a quick side note, I won’t be including them in my Championship list down below because it doesn’t make much sense to.

My seventh Starter Prediction is Alex Albon will suffer the most DNF’s this season! Firstly, Alex Albon did retire more than anyone in 2024 so that is part of the reason I’ve gone for this, and I just have a feeling about it for some reason! However, I will say that I had Pierre Gasly in this position last year, and he “didn’t” damage his car once!

My eighth Starter Prediction is there will be teammate tension towards the front of the field. With the Championship fight being so hard to predict this year, I can see tension between the top drivers, and given some teams have two World Class drivers, I only see tension becoming harder to handle!

My ninth Starter Prediction is Lando Norris will have more Pole Positions than anyone in 2025! Lando is a very, very quick racing driver, particularly over 1 lap, and I think the combination of him and McLaren on a Saturday will be very hard to stop!

And finally, my tenth Starter Prediction is there won’t be any home winners in 2025! This is my super Bold Prediction for the season because Lewis Hamilton won at Silverstone last year, Charles Leclerc won at Monza, Ferrari won in Monza (they’re the only team I’m counting in this), and you’ve also got the likes of Max Verstappen in Zandvoort, Oscar Piastri in Australia, and of course George Russell and Lando Norris at Silverstone (this year)! Honestly, I just find this Prediction to be a lot of fun, hence why I’m going with it!

Drivers’ Championship

P20: Jack Doohan

Credit: BBC
Credit: BBC

Unfortunately, I’m not sure that Jack Doohan is going to last his full Rookie Season! Jack’s achievements so far include finishing second in both the 2019/20 F3 Asian and 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championships, and third in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship! Last year, Doohan spent the year as Alpine’s Reserve Driver, but he did make his Formula 1 debut in the Season Finale in Abu Dhabi! Jack Doohan is a talented racing driver, he’s proven that, and I think he fully merits a place in Formula 1! However, there’s so much noise surrounding Jack’s seat before the season has even begun, and despite his talents, I can’t see Alpine keeping him all year, hence why I have to put him last of the current drivers!

P19: Isack Hadjar

Credit: Sports Rush
Credit: Sports Rush

Isack Hadjar is looking to prove his worth in his Rookie year! Isack’s achievements so far include finishing third in both the 2020 French F4 and 2022 Formula Regional Championships, and he also finished second in last year’s FIA Formula 2 Season! Last year, Hadjar had a great year, winning 4 Races, but a start line error in the Season Finale cost him a shot at the Title! I very much think of Isack Hadjar as a diamond in the rough, he has an awful lot of potential and speed, but he needs to be able to open up that potential in a successful manner! Unfortunately, for Isack, I’m not convinced it will happen this year, and my lack of faith in Racing Bulls also doesn’t help the young Frenchman’s course!

P18: Gabriel Bortoleto

Credit: PlanetF1
Credit: PlanetF1

Gabriel Bortoleto is hoping to learn a lot in his first year in Formula 1! Gabriel’s achievements so far include winning the FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2 Championships back-to-back, a feat that puts him in some pretty great company (alongside Piastri, Russell, and Leclerc)! Last year, Bortoleto’s consistency shone through as he took the Formula 2 crown! I think it’s fair to say that Gabriel Bortoleto is the best Rookie coming into this season, certainly based on the last couple of years, and I think he can really push his Kick Sauber teammate! Whilst I have Gabby to come out just short of that goal, I expect him to impress!

P17: Nico Hulkenberg

Credit: Motorsport Week
Credit: Motorsport Week

Nico Hulkenberg is going to be in for a fight at his new team! Nico’s achievements so far include winning the 2005 Formula BMW ADAC Championship, the 2006/07 A1 Grand Prix Title, winning the 2008 Formula 3 Euro Series (after finishing third the previous year), and the 2009 GP2 Series Title! Last year, Hulkenberg did a terrific job for Haas, guiding them to a 7th place finish in the Constructors’, but the enticing offer of Audi meant he still moved away! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, The Hulk has achieved 1 Pole Position in 227 Races, and his highest Championship finish was 7th in 2018! Nico Hulkenberg is entering 2025 after a great 2024 campaign, but the problem for him is the fact that Kick Sauber will probably be pretty slow again! I do think that Nico will do well enough to finish ahead of his Rookie teammate, but it’s not going to be easy!

P16: Yuki Tsunoda

Credit: Motorcycle Sports
Credit: Motorcycle Sports

Yuki Tsunoda is entering what could very well be his last year at Racing Bulls! Yuki’s achievements so far include winning the 2018 F4 Japanese Championship and finishing third in the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship! Last year, Tsunoda had his best season in F1 to date, out-performing both of his teammates on his way to 12th in the Standings! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Tsunoda has competed in 4 full seasons, scoring 91 points, and his highest Championship finish was 12th last year! Yuki Tsunoda proved just how talented he is last year, and that’s the reason why I have him to beat yet another teammate! However, I don’t have faith in Racing Bulls’ performance, and I very much see this being Yuki’s last year with the team!

P15: Alex Albon

Credit: MAXF1
Credit: MAXF1

There’s a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Alex Albon heading into 2025! Alex’s achievements so far include finishing third in the 2014 Formula Renault Eurocup 2.0 Championship (won by Nyck de Vries), second in the 2016 GP3 Series (won by Charles Leclerc), and third in the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship (behind George Russell and Lando Norris)! Last year, Albon’s performances weren’t quite at the same level as in 2023, but he was still Williams’ main man! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Albon has achieved 2 Podiums in 104 Races, and his highest Championship finish was 7th in 2020! Alex Albon has been strong since he returned to the Grid in 2022, but it’s also been hard to get a proper read on his ability due to the fact that his (main) teammates have been pretty weak! However, that’s not the case this year, and Alex will need to step up his game in order to prove that he should continue with Williams for the foreseeable future!

P14: Lance Stroll

Credit: Aston Martin F1 Team
Credit: Aston Martin F1 Team

Lance Stroll enters 2025 with potentially more pressure on his shoulders than usual! Lance’s achievements so far include winning the 2014 Italian F4 Championship, the 2015 Toyota Racing Series, and the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship (by 187 points)! Last year, Stroll had probably his hardest year in the sport, failing to score any points following the Summer Break! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Stroll has achieved 1 Pole Position and 3 Podiums in 8 seasons, and his highest Championship finish was P10 in 2023! It’s well known that Lance Stroll’s position on the Formula 1 Grid has been largely secure due to his Dad owning Aston Martin, and that’s kind of meant that there was no pressure on Stroll when it comes to keeping his seat. However, with 2026 being a brand-new era for Aston, Lance has to step up his game this year to ensure that others don’t push him out for good!

P13: Carlos Sainz

Credit: PlanetF1
Credit: PlanetF1

After a great stint with Ferrari, Carlos Sainz is ready for his new chapter at Williams! Carlos’ achievements so far include finishing second in the 2011 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, and winning both the 2011 Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and the 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 Series Titles! Last year, Sainz was terrific for Ferrari, consistently bagging big points finishes as he took 2 wins, but unfortunately for him, Lewis Hamilton’s arrival put an end to the Spaniard’s time in red! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Sainz has achieved 4 Race Wins, 6 Pole Positions, 27 Podiums, and his highest Championship finish was 5th in 2021, 2022, and 2024! Carlos Sainz is simply too good to be at the team that finished 9th in the Constructors’ last year, and that’s why I can definitely see him dragging Williams slightly up the order. It will definitely be weird to not watch Carlos fight for Podiums and Wins, but I still think he’ll do pretty well!

P12: Fernando Alonso

Credit: Autosport
Credit: Autosport

2025 will serve as a bit of a waiting game for Fernando Alonso! Fernando’s achievements so far include winning the 1999 Euro Open by Nissan Title, the 2018 and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 2018/19 World Endurance Championship, and of course the 2005 and 2006 Formula 1 World Championships! Last year, Alonso did his best to drag Aston Martin to 5th in the Constructors’, but it ultimately wasn’t his strongest year! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Alonso has achieved 2 World Championships, 32 Race Wins, 22 Pole Positions, and 106 Podiums! I’ve kind of alluded to this already in my Season Preview, but I’m not convinced that Fernando Alonso is going to be particularly motivated this year given both he and Aston Martin are focusing heavily on winning in 2026, and I just think they’ll be a drop in performance this year!

P11: Oliver Bearman

Credit: TopGear
Credit: TopGear

Oliver Bearman is ready to finally become a fully-fledged Formula 1 driver! Oliver’s achievements so far include winning the 2021 ADAC Formula 4 and Italian F4 Championships, and finishing third in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship! Last year, Bearman didn’t have the best of showings in Formula 2, finishing just 12th in the Standings, but his 3 substitute appearances in Formula 1 last year (particularly in Saudi and Azerbaijan) were enough for him to get promoted to the big leagues! Oliver Bearman is talented, he’s really talented, and he’s incredibly quick too! I mean, Ollie has shown it multiple times whenever he gets the opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car, and I think he’ll run his new teammate pretty close!

P10: Esteban Ocon

Credit: Sports Rush
Credit: Sports Rush

Esteban Ocon enters 2025 a lot more rejuvenated after his move to Haas! Esteban’s achievements so far include finishing third in the 2013 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Series, winning the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship (ahead of Max Verstappen), and winning the 2015 GP3 Series! Last year, Ocon struggled in his final year with Alpine, a lack of car performance and an overall fallout not helping his cause, but he was still able to take a terrific Podium in Sao Paulo! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Ocon has achieved 1 Race Win and 4 Podiums in 156 Races, and his highest Championship finish was 8th in both 2017 and 2022! Esteban Ocon is a driver that never gets the credit or praise that he deserves, he has pace, he has strong race craft, and he’s shown in the past to be very consistent! I also see Esteban being much happier with Haas, definitely more appreciated, and that will result in Estie Bestie pushing through and edging out his Rookie teammate!

P9: Pierre Gasly

Credit: Autosport
Credit: Autosport

I very much see Pierre Gasly ending the year as the “Best of the Rest”! Pierre’s achievements so far include finishing third in the 2011 French F4 Championship, winning the 2013 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, finishing second in the 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 Series (behind Carlos Sainz), winning the 2016 GP2 Series, and finishing second in Super Formula (in 2017)! Last year, despite struggling in the early phase of the year, Gasly came alive in the final part of the year, with a Podium in Sao Paulo being the highlight (although Qualifying 3rd in Vegas was also pretty special)! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Gasly has achieved 1 Race Win and 5 Podiums in 153 Grand Prix’s, and his highest Championship finish was 7th in 2019! Pierre Gasly massively shot up my Driver Rankings at the end of last year, and as long as Alpine’s strong pace continues, there’s no reason why Pierre won’t continue to shine, especially with this team now fully his own!

P8: Liam Lawson

Credit: PlanetF1
Credit: PlanetF1

Liam Lawson moves up to Red Bull with an awful lot of work to do! Liam’s achievements so far include winning the 2016/17 NZ F1600 Championship Series, finishing second in the 2017 Australian Formula 4, the 2018 ADAC Formula 4, and the 2019 Euroformula Open Championships, winning the 2019 Toyota Racing Series, and finishing second in DTM (2021), third in FIA Formula 2 (2022), and second in Super Formula (2023)! Last year, Lawson came in to Visa Cash App RB as a replacement for Daniel Ricciardo for the final 6 rounds of the year, and whilst the results were mixed, he wasn’t too far away from his more experienced teammate Yuki Tsunoda! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Lawson has driven in 11 Races, scoring 6 points, and they’ve all been from 9th place finishes! The crazy thing about Liam Lawson is not only is he yet to do half a season in total Races, but he’s not even done more than 6 Race Weekends in a row which isn’t a lot! There’s also the problem of being the second Red Bull driver, like that’s been an issue since Daniel Ricciardo left, and I think the problems that RBR are facing is only going to hurt Liam even more!

P7: Andrea Kimi Antonelli

Credit: F1 Oversteer
Credit: F1 Oversteer

Andrea Kimi Antonelli enters Formula 1 with all the hype in the world! Kimi’s achievements so far include winning both the 2022 Italian F4 and ADAC Formula 4 Championships as well as the 2023 Formula Regional Middle East and Formula Regional European Championships! Last year, Antonelli did well in his first and only year in Formula 2, winning a couple of Races whilst also beating his talented Prema teammate Oliver Bearman! Whilst he may only be 18, there is an awful lot of hype and expectations surrounding Andrea Kimi Antonelli, he is expected to perform, he is being touted as the “next Max Verstappen”, and that’s a lot of pressure for a kid to be under (trust me)! Whilst it will take him some time to get used to the challenges of Formula 1, I think Kimi Antonelli will impress this year, especially in the second part of the season!

P6: Lewis Hamilton

Credit: BBC
Credit: BBC

Lewis Hamilton enters Ferrari looking for immediate success! Lewis’ achievements so far include winning the 2003 Formula Renault UK Championship, the 2005 Formula 3 Euro Series, the 2006 GP2 Series, and of course the small matter of 7 Formula 1 World Championships! Last year, Hamilton struggled in his final year with Mercedes, particularly over 1 lap, but he was still able to bag 2 wins including a special one at Silverstone! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Hamilton has achieved 7 World Championships, 105 Race Wins, 104 Pole Positions, and 202 Podiums! Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari is mindbogglingly special, it’s one of the biggest transfers in sporting history, but now the question is whether or not Lewis can deliver! See, if we get the best version of Hamilton with a strong Ferrari package, he’ll be tough to stop, but for now, I think it’s going to take some time for the 7-time World Champion to bed in!

P5: Oscar Piastri

Credit: Autosport
Credit: Autosport

Oscar Piastri is hoping Year 3 brings his first real opportunity at fighting for the Drivers’ World Championship! Oscar’s achievements so far include finishing second in the 2017 F4 British Championship, and winning the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup, the 2020 FIA Formula 3, and the 2021 FIA Formula 2 Championships! Last year, Piastri proved just how talented he is, taking his Maiden Grand Prix victory whilst also giving McLaren (and teammate Lando Norris) something to think about! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Piastri has achieved 2 Race Wins and 10 Podiums, and his highest Championship finish was 4th last year! If I’m being honest, Oscar Piastri is only 5th in my list because of how highly I rate the drivers above him, I mean P5 feels harsh for a guy that’s only going to get better, and I’m not ruling out Oscar winning this Championship entirely! However, for now, I can’t go any higher than P5!

P4: George Russell

Credit: GPblog
Credit: GPblog

George Russell enters 2025 after his best season to date! George’s achievements so far include winning the 2014 BRDC Formula 4 Championship, finishing third in the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, and winning both the 2017 GP3 Series and 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championships! Last year, Russell had his best year in Formula 1 to date, winning multiple Races whilst also out-performing his World Championship-winning teammate! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Russell has achieved 3 Race Wins, 5 Pole Positions, 15 Podiums, and his highest Championship finish was P4 in 2022! I really think George Russell has a shot at winning this year’s World Championship, he’s got the talent, the grit, and most importantly of all, a Champions mentality! However, it’s really hard to trust Mercedes to deliver a consistently capable Race-winning car given their run the last couple of years, and that’s why I’ve “only” put George 4th!

P3: Charles Leclerc

Credit: Sports Rush
Credit: Sports Rush

Charles Leclerc will fully believe that 2025 is his year! Charles’ achievements so far include finishing second in the 2014 Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Championship, and winning both the 2016 GP3 Series and the 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championships! Last year, Leclerc had his best season to date, showing incredible consistency throughout as he took home 3 victories (with 2 of them being particularly special)! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Leclerc has achieved 8 Race Wins, 26 Pole Positions, 43 Podiums, and his highest Championship finish was second in 2022! I’ve seen a lot of people back Charles Leclerc to win the World Drivers’ Championship this year, and they’re more than valid to do so! Charles is so talented, he has everything to be a World Champion, and he’s another guy that I could’ve easily put to win it! However, the only thing (and it’s a small thing) that’s holding me back is what Ferrari will be able to deliver, but like I said, Leclerc can easily win this!

P2: Lando Norris

Credit: Sky Sports
Credit: Sky Sports

Lando Norris enters 2025 with one goal in mind; become a World Champion! Lando’s achievements so far include finishing third in the 2014 Ginetta Junior Championship, winning the 2015 MSA Formula Championship, winning the 2016 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, and Toyota Racing Series Titles, winning the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, and finishing second in FIA Formula 2 (2018)! Last year, Norris stepped up his game in a year where he took his Maiden Grand Prix victory, and his win in the Season Finale ultimately helped return McLaren to Constructors’ Championship glory! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Norris has achieved 4 Race Wins, 9 Pole Positions, 26 Podiums, and his highest Championship finish was second last year! Despite what some people might say, Lando Norris did really well last year, he proved himself to be a Race-winning level talent, he helped his team win a Championship, and he also showed that he knows how to win comfortably once he gets out in front! Lando is also the favourite to win the Drivers’ World Championship this year, and I’d say the driver-car combo merits that! However, I still have questions as to whether Norris can handle the race craft side of the pressure, and that’s the main reason why I haven’t put him in P1!

P1: Max Verstappen

Credit: Feature First
Credit: Feature First

If no one else is going to say it, I will back Max Verstappen to win his 5th World Championship! Max’s achievements so far include finishing third in the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, and of course winning 4-straight Formula 1 World Drivers' Championships (between 2021 and 2024)! Last year, Red Bull’s drop off in performance meant that Verstappen was challenged a lot more than in previous years, but his talent continued to shine through, with a special win in Sao Paulo being the key moment in sealing his 4th-straight Title! Over the course of his Formula 1 career, Verstappen has achieved 4 World Championships, 63 Race Wins, 40 Pole Positions, and 112 Podiums! Max Verstappen is the best racing driver in the world, I don’t think that’s even debatable, but there are rightly many questions surrounding Red Bull’s performance heading into 2025! Honestly, this is easily the least confident I’ve been about Max retaining his Title since 2022, I probably even feel more confident about some of the drivers I haven’t picked to win it winning it this year than Verstappen! Ultimately, though, I will not vote against Max, he’s far too good to do that!

Constructors’ Championship

P10: Kick Sauber

Credit: F1
Credit: F1

Is there really much need to explain this one? Last year, Kick Sauber sucked, they scored just 4 points all season (and that was all in 1 Race), and they were simply just slow! You also then have to just look at their recent track record, and minus 2022 (where they did well and finished 6th), Sauber haven’t finished higher than 8th since 2013! Sauber have a good lineup, the battle between Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto should be exciting, but that’s about it!

P9: Racing Bulls

Credit: RaceFans
Credit: RaceFans

I really don’t have much confidence in Racing Bulls this year! Last year, Visa Cash App RB started the season well, but their lack of a consistent second driver ultimately resulted in them finishing 8th in the Constructors’! The one thing that did have me questioning this pick was that AlphaTauri’s best-ever season was in 2021, the final year before a big regulation change, and it’s fair to think that VCARB don’t need to focus on next year’s regulations like a lot of the other teams around them will. However, Racing Bulls have the weakest driver lineup in my opinion, and I ultimately think they will struggle!

P8: Williams

Credit: Williams F1
Credit: Williams F1

I’m aware that putting Williams 8th might come as a bit of a surprise! Last year, Williams had a difficult time, they struggled for pace, and they had more crash damage than any other team! Since 2018, Williams have really struggled, they haven’t scored more than 30 points in any of those seasons, and whilst I can see them doing that, I still think they’ll struggle. Now, Williams have a very strong driver lineup, and if you went of Testing, Williams definitely looked better than 8th fastest! However, you know by now that I wrote these Predictions out before Testing, and that’s why I’m keeping them here!

P7: Aston Martin

Credit: Motorsport Week
Credit: Motorsport Week

2025 may well be a long year ahead for anyone connected to Aston Martin! Last year, Aston Martin’s pace completely dropped off, with their decent start to the year meaning they comfortably came home in 5th, despite scoring just 19 points after the Summer Break! In their 4 years of being Aston Martin, they’ve either finished 5th or 7th in the Standings, and it’s also worth mentioning that Racing Point finished 7th in both 2018 and 2019! Honestly, like I’ve already said, I don’t think Aston Martin care about this year at all, and I really think it’s going to be an incredibly long and poor year for them!

P6: Alpine

Credit: PlanetF1
Credit: PlanetF1

Whilst I’ve put them 6th, I can easily see Alpine finishing “Best of the Rest”! Last year, Alpine were pretty horrendous for the most part, but a terrific end to the season, including a double Podium at Sao Paulo, resulted in them still finishing as expected (in 6th)! Alpine are pretty consistent, they’ve finished in the Top 6 in every season since 2017, and I’d be stunned if they didn’t finish in that region again this year. However, there are a lot of questions surrounding their second driver seat to the point where it can’t be ignored (unfortunately), and that’s why I have them to just miss out on P5 in the Standings!

P5: Haas

Credit: Pit Debrief
Credit: Pit Debrief

I’m going all in with Haas this year! Last year, Haas had their best year in the sport since 2018, scoring consistent points on their way to 7th in the Standings! In my opinion, Haas’ lineup this year is stronger than last year’s, both Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman will push each other forward, and Ayao Komatsu is the perfect Team Principal for a small team like Haas! In their 10th season in the sport, I think Haas will achieve their first-ever Podium!

P4: Mercedes

Credit: Sky Sports
Credit: Sky Sports

Whilst it will be close, I think Mercedes will remain as the 4th-best team on the Grid! Last year, Mercedes were comfortably 4th, with a lack of consistency ultimately costing them as they still managed to win 4 Races! It’s worth mentioning that last year was Mercedes’ weakest since 2012, and it’s a new era for them with Andrea Kimi Antonelli debuting in place of Lewis Hamilton! Because of that, I don’t think it would be fully realistic to expect Merc to finish higher than last year, but they’ll be close to third!

P3: Red Bull Racing

Credit: F1
Credit: F1

Whilst I may have Max Verstappen to win the Drivers’ Championship, I don’t expect Red Bull Racing to win the Constructors' Championship! Last year, Red Bull started the season so well, but their pace completely dropped off, and that combined with Sergio Perez’s struggles resulted in the team dropping to third in the Constructors’! Whilst Checo is no longer with the team, there is no guarantees that Liam Lawson will perform any better, and there certainly aren't any guarantees that Red Bull’s performance will be any good either! However, with Max Verstappen leading the team, I think RBR will have just enough to end up third!

P2: Ferrari

Credit: F1
Credit: F1

I get the feeling that P2 in the Constructors’ is simply not good enough for Ferrari! Last year, Ferrari had a strong year, winning 5 Races as both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz impressed, but a 3-4 round blip following Monaco ultimately cost the team a Championship Title! It’s crazy to think that Ferrari haven’t won a Constructors’ Championship since 2008, but with Lewis Hamilton’s arrival in Maranello, expectations are incredibly high for the Scuderia! However, I’m not convinced that Ferrari are going to have the fastest car, and the fact that they didn’t win despite Carlos Sainz’s great performances is ultimately what has me thinking that Ferrari will miss out once again!

P1: McLaren

Credit: Motorsport Week
Credit: Motorsport Week

For me, McLaren are the clear favourites to retain their Constructors’ World Championship! Last year, McLaren’s pace came alive following Miami, as the team went on a long Podium run that resulted in them winning multiple Races and securing the Championship in Abu Dhabi! Now, it’s not been since the early 1990’s that McLaren have won back-to-back Constructors’ World Championships, but I’d be really surprised if they didn’t do that this year! Firstly, I expect the car to be really strong, but you also look at the driver lineup, and both Lando and Oscar should only continue to improve! Now we just have to wait and see if I’m right!
