Women’s Royal Rumble

The 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble starts with Bianca Belair at Number 1 before Becky Lynch comes out at Number 2. The two stars go at it before Indi Hartwell comes out at Number 3, followed by Chelsea Green who obviously wasn’t very impressed with her Number. Number 5 and 6 then saw Katana Chance and Kayden Carter enter the fray before Alba Fyre arrived at Number 7. Plenty of eliminations were attempted and were rather unsuccessful until Number 8, as after Maxxine Dupri entered the match, Bianca Belair dumped out Chelsea Green to the dismay of Miss Chelsea. The game then changed as Nia Jax came out at Number 9 to a chorus of boos! Jax came in and dominated the field before she came face-to-face with the Number 10 entrant, Piper Niven. Nia and Piper were about to go at it before Chance and Carter stupidly jumped onto their much bigger opponents’ backs, resulting in both of them being eliminated whilst Jax also got rid of Maxxine Dupri because of course she did! We then got a really cool three-way stare-down between Jax, Niven, and Indi Hartwell before Indi Wrestling was ultimately dumped out of the match by the Number 11 entrant, NXT’s Lash Legend. Shotzi was then the next woman to enter the fray before Candice LeRae entered at 13. Ivy Nile was then the 14th entrant into the match before the game changed again as Bayley entered at the halfway stage of the Rumble!

Bayley entered the fray and eliminated Alba Fyre before she sent Becky Lynch through the middle rope (meaning Lynch wasn’t eliminated). NXT’s Blair Davenport was then out at 16, and whilst Blair was making her entrance, Bayley was able to eliminate Shotzi. Michin was then out at Number 17 before we got a huge elimination as Lash Legend was able to eliminate Piper Niven in a great moment for the Meta-Four member. The game then changed again as Asuka entered at Number 18 before Kairi Sane quickly followed at Number 19 meaning three members of Damage CTRL were all in the ring. DC then worked together as Asuka dumped out Ivy Nile whilst Kairi eliminated (her old rival) Candice LeRae. Kiana James then entered the fray at 20 before we got a big return at 21 in the form of Liv Morgan! Liv was able to come in and drop Kiana James before she was able to eliminate Blair Davenport. Morgan was then attacked from behind by Lash Legend, but she was helped out by Bianca Belair who was able to chuck out Legend after a pretty good showing. Zelina Vega was then out at Number 22 and she ran wild before Elektra Lopez arrived at Number 23. Lopez went straight after Vega which makes sense given their history, and in the end, it resulted in both women kind of eliminating each other. Natalya then arrived at Number 24 and whilst she was making her entrance, Liv Morgan was able to eliminate Kiana James before Number 25 saw the official Main Roster Call-up/Debut of Tiffany Stratton!

Tiffany Stratton entered the fray and ran wild before she eliminated Michin as Tegan Nox arrived at Number 26. Shayna Baszler then came out at Number 27 before we got a huge elimination as Becky Lynch was able to get rid of Nia Jax. However, Tiffany Stratton then came up from behind and dumped The Man out to not only cause another huge elimination but also to get some revenge for what happened on NXT last September. Zoey Stark then made her way down to the ring at Number 28 before we got a brawl between the teams of Baszler and Stark, and Nox and Natalya. In the end, when Shayna was trying to eliminate Natalya and Tegan was attempting to eliminate Zoey, The Kabuki Warriors came from behind and dumped all four women out of the match. As Damage CTRL celebrated their “triumph”, things got even better for them as at Number 29, out came none other than the returning Dakota Kai! At first, Bayley’s face made you think this wasn’t part of her “Big, Grand, Damage Control plan”, but that was all a ruse as the four Heels went after Belair, Morgan, and Stratton. And finally, the 30th and final entrant of the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble saw the return of a Hall of Famer known as Trish Stratus.

With the match down to its final 8 competitors, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Trish Stratus, and Tiffany Stratton realised they needed to work together in order to eliminate Damage CTRL. So that’s exactly what they did as Morgan was able to eliminate Kairi Sane whilst Asuka was eliminated by Belair. However, their alliance would prove to be very short-term as Stratus “turned” on Bianca and chucked The EST out of the fray in a pretty shocking moment. This meant that the Final 5 in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble were Bayley, Dakota Kai, Liv Morgan, Trish Stratus, and Tiffany Stratton. Liv was definitely the underdog in this scenario, but she showed her Babyface spirit as she went after and eliminated Stratton before she showed her quickness to dodge Trish’s “Chick Kick” before she sent the Hall of Famer over the top rope and down to the floor to leave us to just 3! Damage CTRL went straight after Morgan, but Liv just wouldn’t stay down before she nearly eliminated Dakota as Kai was just about able to hang onto the bottom rope. Meanwhile, Bayley then went to chuck Liv out of the match before Morgan caught The Role Model and attempted to pull her over instead. This then allowed Dakota Kai to toss Bayley’s leg over which in turn took Liv to the ground meaning Dakota Kai is your 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner!

Men’s Royal Rumble

The Men’s Royal Rumble started how it started last year as the Intercontinental Champion Gunther made his way down to the ring at Number 1. However, this time he was followed by Jey Uso who came out to a big pop. Both Gunther and Jey went at each other as soon as the bell rang before Chad Gable arrived at Number 3, followed by Santos Escobar at 4. Ivar was then out at Number 5 before we got a “Colossal” stare-down in the form of Ivar and the Number 6 entrant, Bronson Reed. “The Judgment Day’s” JD McDonagh was then out at Number 7 before Kofi Kingston entered the fray at Number 8. This is also when we got our first elimination of the match as Chad Gable was able to miraculously eliminate Ivar before Gable got eliminated by Reed. Number 9 then saw the arrival of Dominik Mysterio before The Judgment Day’s presence “grew even stronger” in the form of R-Truth! JD McDonagh didn’t seem particularly pleased to see R-Truth which is why he attempted to eliminate him. However, Truth reversed McDonagh’s attempt and ultimately eliminated The Irish Ace himself to the delight of the WWE Universe. Truth then turned around and got a high-five from Dominik Mysterio, only for “Dirty” Dom to chuck Truth out of the contest. Shinsuke Nakamura was then the next entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble match before Tommaso Ciampa arrived at Number 12. The game then started to change as Drew McIntyre came out at 13 and instantly eliminated Kofi Kingston before Number 14 saw the arrival of The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes!

Cody Rhodes entered the ring and started to brawl with Drew McIntyre before Grayson Waller came out at Number 15. Johnny Gargano’s music then hit at Number 16 before Austin Theory arrived at 17. Whilst that was all going on, Jey Uso was able to send Bronson Reed over the top rope with a Superkick for a pretty “big” elimination before Number 18 saw the arrival of Jey’s twin brother, Jimmy Uso! Before Jimmy and Jey could get into it, Gunther interrupted and started chopping Jey before he turned around and gave some back to Jimmy (as well). Number 19 saw the arrival of Carlito and he went straight after Santos Escobar before NXT’s Trick Williams arrived at 20. This is when a couple of eliminations started to occur as Escobar was able to get rid of Carlito whilst Cody Rhodes was able to eliminate Shinsuke Nakamura after Nakamura failed to connect with the Kinshasa. Number 21 then saw the arrival of Finn Balor as Balor and Mysterio started to get into it with DIY. Pete Dunne was then out at Number 22 before Carmelo Hayes arrived at 23. A-Town Down Under then went straight for Hayes only for Trick Williams to chuck out Waller before Melo got rid of Theory. Karrion Kross then arrived at Number 24 and quickly dispatched Trick Willy out of the match whilst Finn Balor was able to eliminate Tommaso Ciampa, only for Balor to be eliminated himself by Johnny Gargano. The game then changed again as, at Number 25, CM Punk arrived!

CM Punk came in and was immediately charged at by Drew McIntyre before he could even lock eyes with Cody Rhodes. Bobby Lashley’s music then hit at 26 as another big name arrived whilst McIntyre just chucked Pete Dunne over the top rope after Dunne tried to interrupt Drew and Punk’s fight. Bobby Lashley was then able to eliminate Johnny Gargano before The Miz arrived at Number 27. This is when we got a couple of big eliminations as despite Jimmy’s best efforts, Jey Uso was able to eliminate his twin brother before Jey turned around only to get dumped out of the match courtesy of a Drew McIntyre Claymore! Straight after both Uso’s were eliminated, Solo Sikoa came out at Number 28 before Karrion Kross was able to pick up a big elimination as he chucked out Lashley. 29 then saw the arrival of “Senor Money in the Bank” Damian Priest before Gunther eliminated The Miz. Cody Rhodes was then able to eliminate Kross before it was time for the always-exciting Number 30 entrant. The crowd waited in huge anticipation only to be disappointed when Jinder Mahal’s music hit. The crowd booed Mahal, but they then went silent after Jinder was attacked from behind with a Steel Chair. The man with the steel chair then took his mask off and his music hit, the man in question being none other than the returning Andrade “Cien” Almas!

With 10 Superstars left “standing” and no more entrants remaining, it became clear that one of Gunther, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Andrade, Dominik Mysterio, Solo Sikoa, Carmelo Hayes, and Santos Escobar would be heading to the Main Event of WrestleMania 40! Andrade and Escobar went straight at each other from the start whilst Solo Sikoa was just waiting for Rhodes. In the end, it was Cody who eliminated Santos Escobar before The American Nightmare was able to get rid of Sikoa after Solo missed with the Samoan Spike. Carmelo Hayes was then the next man eliminated courtesy of Damian Priest before McIntyre would’ve eliminated Priest if it wasn’t for “Dirty” Dom. However, Mysterio was taken care off by CM Punk who eliminated the former NXT North American Champion whilst The Scottish Warrior sent Senor Money in the Bank over the top rope with a Claymore meaning we were down to 5! Cody Rhodes then went on a tear as he dropped both Gunther and McIntyre with Cody Cutter’s before he dropped Punk with a Cross Rhodes. However, before Cody could eliminate Punk from the Royal Rumble, Shinsuke Nakamura reappeared and spat red mist into the eyes of Rhodes, and as CM rolled to the outside (under the bottom rope), Andrade was able to eliminate The American Nightmare in a shocking moment! Almas then smiled only to turn around and get met with a big lariat from Gunther before The Ring General chucked Andrade over the top rope with Almas just about holding onto the rope. However, Andrade would ultimately be eliminated as Drew McIntyre sent him crashing to the floor with a Claymore that was meant for the Intercontinental Champion. This allowed Gunther to come within a whisker of eliminating The Scottish Psychopath, but Drew showcased his incredible athleticism to hold onto the bottom rope before he pulled Gunther over the top rope and out of the Rumble for what he thought was the victory. However, McIntyre then realised that CM Punk was starting to crawl back into the ring which is when Drew went for the Claymore Kick only for Punk to duck before he clotheslined McIntyre out of the ring meaning CM Punk is the Winner of the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble!
