How I Would Book: The 2023 King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments

Queen of the Ring

Two first-round matches take place on the 8th of May edition of Monday Night Raw as Bianca Belair takes on Dakota Kai whilst Bayley faces Nikki Cross. Bianca Belair picks up the victory despite the interference by Iyo Sky whilst Bayley picks up the win because of said interference. On Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair beats Tegan Nox whilst Zoey Stark defeats Zelina Vega (the woman who won this tournament last time). The final first-round matches on the Raw side take place Monday night as Piper Niven faces Candice LeRae whilst Becky Lynch takes on Carmella. Niven looks comfortable as she picks up the win whilst the Man advances her way into the Quarter Finals. The next SmackDown sees Raquel Rodriguez beat Shayna Baszler before she gets beaten down by Ronda Rousey. In the final first-round match, Liv Morgan knocks off Shotzi. A week before the King and Queen of the Ring show, Bianca Belair takes on Bayley whilst Piper Niven faces Becky Lynch. After a really good battle, Bianca Belair gets the victory whilst Becky Lynch overcomes Piper Niven’s size advantage to set up an exciting clash for Saturday Night. The night before the Premium Live Event, Charlotte Flair takes on Zoey Stark whilst Raquel Rodriguez, still banged up from last week’s attack, takes on the ever-unhinged Liv Morgan. Charlotte Flair beats Zoey Stark to advance to the Semi-Final stage whilst, in the other quarter-final contest, Liv Morgan beats Raquel Rodriguez after Rousey hit Raquel with Brass Knuckles (behind the referee’s back).

In Saudi Arabia, Bianca Belair takes on Becky Lynch in the first of two Semi-Finals. The end of the match sees Bianca Belair stand tall to advance to the final. In “SmackDown’s final”, the already nicknamed “Queen” Charlotte Flair goes one on one with Liv Morgan and it’s Morgan who pulls out the unlikely victory to set up a surprise final (of sorts). In the final, Liv Morgan beats Bianca Belair to win the Queen of the Ring Tournament.

“All Hail Queen Liv!”

King of the Ring

On May 8th, Seth “Freakin” Rollins takes on Baron Corbin whilst Johnny Gargano takes on Mansoor in two first-round matches in the King of the Ring tournament. Seth Rollins picks up the victory over Corbin whilst Johnny Gargano beats Mansoor to advance through to the next round. On SmackDown, Drew McIntyre is able to beat Sheamus in a hard-hitting affair whilst Damian Priest beats Santos Escobar to make it through to the Quarter Final stage. The final first-round matches on the Raw side of the tournament sees Montez Ford face The Miz whilst Chad Gable takes on Mustafa Ali. Ford picks up the victory with his awesome Frog Splash whilst Ali picks up the surprise victory with a roll-up. The next SmackDown sees Finn Balor beat the most recent King of the Ring winner (Xavier Woods) whilst Karrion Kross suffers a surprise defeat at the hands of Cameron Grimes. In the final Raw before the King and Queen of the Ring PLE, Seth “Freakin” Rollins takes on Johnny Gargano whilst Montez Ford faces Mustafa Ali. Seth Rollins is able to beat Johnny Wrestling in an awesome contest whilst Montez picks up the victory over Ali to set up a really exciting Semi-Final clash. The night before the Premium Live Event sees Drew McIntyre take on Damian Priest whilst Finn Balor clashes with Cameron Grimes. Drew McIntyre is able to fight off the numbers game to pick up the victory whilst the Prince continues his run to upgrade his title.

In Saudi Arabia, Seth “Freakin” Rollins takes on Montez Ford in a clash of two over babyfaces. In what can only be described as an upset, Ford sneaks a victory over Seth Rollins to advance to the final. In the other Semi-Final bout, Finn Balor picks up the win over Drew McIntyre after repeated interference by the Judgment Day. In the final, Montez Ford beats Finn Balor to win the King of the Ring Tournament.

“All Hail King Tez!”
