European Football Preview: Semi-Finals, Leg 2

UEFA Champions League:

Inter Milan VS A.C. Milan (2-0 on aggregate)

It’s advantage Inter in the second consecutive Champions League Semi-Final at the San Siro. Inter Milan are coming into this game off the back of a 4-2 win at home to Sassuolo and they currently sit third in Serie A. A.C. Milan come into this game after a 2-0 loss away to Spezia and they currently sit 5th in Serie A. Overall, Inter Milan will expect to win again and make it to the Champions League Final since the last time they won it back in 2010. However, that doesn’t mean that A.C. Milan won’t give it a good go as they look to make their first European final since the 2006/07 Champions League final (which they won).

My Prediction: 1-1 (Inter win 3-1 on aggregate)

Manchester City VS Real Madrid (1-1 on aggregate)

Manchester City host Real Madrid in a massive Champions League tie at the Etihad. Man City are coming into this game off the back of a 3-0 away win against Everton and they currently sit top of the Premier League. Real Madrid come into this game off the back of a 1-0 win at home to Getafe and they currently sit second in LaLiga. Overall, Manchester City are looking for a performance that would get them to their second-ever Champions League Final whilst Real Madrid are looking for another special European night to once again return to the Champions League Final.

My Prediction: 4-3 (City win 5-4 on aggregate)

UEFA Europa League:

Bayer Leverkusen VS Roma (0-1 on aggregate)

Bayer Leverkusen need a super second leg to make it to their first European final in over 20 years. Bayer Leverkusen play VfB Stuttgart today and they currently sit 7th in the Bundesliga. A.S. Roma play away to Bologna today and they currently sit 6th in Serie A. Overall, Bayer Leverkusen will hope that they can make their first European final since the 2001/02 Champions League Final whilst Roma are looking to make it keep Leverkusen at bay to make it back-to-back European finals after their Europa Conference League victory last year.

My Prediction: 1-1 (Roma win 2-1 on aggregate)

Sevilla VS Juventus (1-1 on aggregate)

Sevilla host Juventus in a big European tie. Sevilla play away to Real Valladolid today and they currently sit 12th in LaLiga. Juventus are hosting Cremonese today and they currently sit second in Serie A. Overall, Sevilla are looking to continue their record of always winning the Europa League once they reach the Quarter-Final stage whilst Juventus will need a special performance if they are looking to make it back to a European Final.

My Prediction: 2-0 (Sevilla win 3-1 on aggregate)

UEFA Europa Conference League:

AZ Alkmaar VS West Ham (1-2 on aggregate)

AZ Alkmaar host West Ham United in the biggest game of both clubs’ seasons. AZ Alkmaar host FC Emmen tonight and they currently sit 4th in the Eredivisie. West Ham United come into this game off the back of a 2-0 loss away to Brentford and they currently sit 15th in the Premier League. Overall, AZ Alkmaar are looking to pull out a brilliant second-leg performance to make it into their second-ever European Final whilst West Ham United are looking to hold AZ off to seal a brilliant appearance in the UEFA Europa Conference League Final.

My Prediction: 3-1 (AZ win 4-3 on aggregate)

FC Basel VS Fiorentina (2-1 on aggregate)

FC Basel are 90 minutes away from history as they welcome Fiorentina for the second leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League Semi-Final tie. Basel play St. Gallen today and they currently sit 6th in the Swiss Super League. Fiorentina come into this game off the back of a 2-0 win over Udinese and they currently sit 8th in Serie A. Overall, FC Basel are looking to hold on to make it into their first-ever European Final whilst Fiorentina will need to turn it around in Basel if they are going to make it into their first European final since the 1990 UEFA Cup Final.

My Prediction: 1-0 (Basel win 3-1 on aggregate)
