Baltimore Ravens @ Kansas City Chiefs
The 2024 NFL Season kicks off in a massive way with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens! The Kansas City Chiefs enter the new campaign as back-to-back Super Bowl Champions as they go in search of a record-breaking third-straight Vince Lombardi Trophy! As for Baltimore, last year went so well for them up until the AFC Championship game, and they’ll be looking for their revenge in this one. Overall, I’m going to back The Chiefs to start the new season with a W! Baltimore are a strong team, there’s no doubting that, but it would feel crazy to go against Kansas City so early in the new season!
Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles host the Green Bay Packers in an exciting matchup in Brazil! The Philadelphia Eagles underdelivered last year as they got stuffed in the Wild Card Round, but they’ll certainly be hoping for more this time around. As for Green Bay, they had a strong 2023 campaign which saw them narrowly lose in the Divisional Round to The 49ers. Overall, I think Philadelphia will just about win this game! I could really go with either team here, I think it’s going to be a close one, but I will back Philly just cause that feels right!
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons didn’t have the best of seasons last year, and they enter this one hoping to get back to a positive record! As for Pittsburgh, they did well to make another Playoff appearance, and they’ll be hoping for a positive year with Russell Wilson at Quarterback. Overall, I expect The Falcons to start their season off with a victory! In a battle of the new Quarterbacks, I think Kirk Cousins will prove more of a difference than Russell Wilson.
Arizona Cardinals @ Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills once again lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Playoffs last year as they hope that this is finally their year! As for Arizona, they had a pretty terrible 2023 campaign, and they need to do much better this time around! Overall, I fully expect Buffalo to win this game! To be honest, I think The Bills could stuff The Cardinals here!
Tennessee Titans @ Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears did okay last year, and they’ll be hoping for more with their Number 1 Draft Pick! As for Tennessee, they had a difficult 2023 Season, and they’ll be hoping to pick up some more victories this time around! Overall, I think The Bears will win this game. I’m not convinced by The Titans at all whilst Chicago at least have some positives going for them!
New England Patriots @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals had a pretty disappointing campaign last year as they missed the Playoffs entirely, and they can’t really afford to do that again this time around! As for New England, they were the worst team in the AFC last year so you’d think it can’t get any worse for them! Overall, this is 100% going to be a Cincinnati W! The Bengals are so superior to The Patriots that this feels a little unfair!
Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts did well last year all things considered, and Anthony Richardson is now back to lead the offense into battle! As for Houston, they did superbly well to win the AFC South last year, and now they’ll be hoping to do that for years to come! Overall, I think The Texans will get the job done here. It will be close, The Colts could pull something off here given they’re a bit of an unknown, but that’s actually the reason why I’ve backed Houston in the first place!
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins start their 2024 campaign off with a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars! The Miami Dolphins threw away their 2023 campaign as they got thrashed by Kansas City in the Wild Card Round, and they very much need to do better this time around! As for Jacksonville, they didn’t even make the Playoffs after a disappointing end to the season for themselves! Overall, I will back The Dolphins to win this game. Miami are simply the better team heading into the new season, it’s as simple as that!
Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints were unlucky to miss out on a Playoff spot last season, but they’ll enter this year hoping to win their Division. As for Carolina, they only won 2 games last year so you have to think that this year will be better! Overall, I fully expect a New Orleans victory here! The Saints are far superior to The Panthers so I’d be stunned if Carolina walked out of this game as the victors!
Minnesota Vikings @ New York Giants
The New York Giants had a mediocre (at best) 2023 Season and it’s unclear whether they’re going to do any better this time around! As for Minnesota, they’re also entering this year off the back of a mediocre year, but I wouldn’t say that expectations are particually high for them this time around! Overall, I’m actually going to back The Giants to win this game! I don’t think either team is very good so I’m simply backing the home team!
Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers had a shocking campaign last time out so there’s an awful lot of pressure on them to sort things out! As for Las Vegas, they actually did alright last year even if they weren’t ever exactly in Playoff contention. Overall, I think The Chargers will just about do enough to win this game! Either team could win this game, but I think Justin Herbert will just about do enough for LA!
Denver Broncos @ Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks just missed out on a Playoff spot last year which means they’ll be hoping to go at least one step further this time around! As for Denver, they didn’t do too bad last year and they’ll be hoping to have another decent campaign! Overall, I think Seattle will win this game. I think this will be a close one, but I expect Mike Macdonald to start his new job off with a victory!
Dallas Cowboys @ Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns did well last year up until getting smashed in the Playoffs, and they can’t allow that to happen again this year! As for Dallas, they too had a pretty similar story which once again cannot afford to keep being repeated! Overall, I think The Cowboys will have enough to win this Football game! With a superb performance, Cleveland can definetly win this game. However, I think Dallas will have just enough!
Washington Commanders @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did pretty well last year to make it to the Divisional Round of the Playoffs, and they’ll be aiming for more of the same this season! As for Washington, they finished bottom of their Division so things can only go up from here (you’d hope)! In the end, I do think this is a game that The Buccaneers will win! I just think Tampa Bay have more good things going for them than Washington!
Los Angeles Rams @ Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions host the Los Angeles Rams in the opening Sunday Night Football of the new season! The Detroit Lions had a superb 2023 campaign which was ultimately ended with a 3-point loss in the NFC Championship game! As for Los Angeles, they also had a positive year last year, even though they narrowly lost to their latest opponents in Wild Card Weekend. Overall, I do expect Detroit to win this game! The Lions are a strong side, and it’s going to be very difficult for The Rams to go there and beat them!
New York Jets @ San Francisco 49ers
The final Week 1 matchup is a big one as the San Francisco 49ers host the New York Jets live on Monday Night Football! The San Francisco 49ers had such a strong season last year, but another Super Bowl loss has left them hungry for more! As for New York, a horrible injury to Aaron Rodgers in last year’s opener resulted in them going on to have a pretty poor campaign. Overall, I expect The 49ers to win this game! It could be a close one, but San Francisco rarely lose at home!
