2024 NFL Playoffs: Divisional Round Preview and Predictions

(10-7) Houston Texans (4) @ (1) Baltimore Ravens (13-4)

The Divisional Round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs sees the Number 1 seed in the AFC Baltimore host the Number 4 seed Houston as The Ravens and The Texans collide at M&T Bank Stadium! The Baltimore Ravens are entering this week off the back of a Bye and they’ll be looking to pick up their first Playoff victory since 2021 this weekend. As for Houston, they absolutely smashed the Cleveland Browns last weekend and they’re entering this game off the back of 3-straight wins. It’s also worth mentioning that The Texans have never won a Divisional Round game! In terms of my Prediction, I think The Ravens will win this game. As much as the C. J. Stroud and Houston Texans story has been amazing to witness, I don’t think they’re quite good enough to defeat a well-oiled machine in the form of The Baltimore Ravens.

(9-8) Green Bay Packers (7) @ (1) San Francisco 49ers (12-5)

On Saturday Night Football, the San Francisco 49ers welcome the Green Bay Packers to Levi Stadium for what should be a really intriguing game. The San Francisco 49ers had a “week off” last week thanks to being the Number 1 seed in the NFC and they’re aiming to extend their 6-game winning streak in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs. An interesting fact worth mentioning is if you ignore The 49ers loss to The Rams in Week 18 (when they played their second team), all four of their losses this season have come against teams from either the AFC or the NFC North! As for Green Bay, they pulled out the result of the weekend to destroy The Cowboys in Dallas and they’re entering this weekend off the back of 4-straight victories. It is worth mentioning however that The Packers are 0-4 in their last 4 Post-Season meetings with The Niners (their last win coming back in 2002). In terms of my Prediction, I’m just about going to say The 49ers. The reason for this is because San Francisco have an unbelievable record at this stage of the season, but Green Bay showed last week that you cannot count them out one bit.

(9-8) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4) @ (3) Detroit Lions (12-5)

After waiting 30 years for a home Playoff game, Detroit gets two as The Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an exciting NFC clash! The Detroit Lions just about edged past the Los Angeles Rams in Super Wild Card Weekend (23-24) and they’re looking to make it back to the NFC Championship game for the first time since 1992! As for Tampa Bay, they stuffed the Philadelphia Eagles in a terrific display last weekend and it’s worth mentioning that the last two times The Bucs have won in the Divisional Round, they’ve gone on to win the Super Bowl! In terms of my Prediction, I think The Lions will win this one. As there are always usually surprises in the Playoffs, I can totally see The Buccaneers winning this game and that’s why I nearly went with them. However, it just feels like it’s destiny for Detroit to return to the NFC Championship.

(11-6) Kansas City Chiefs (3) @ (2) Buffalo Bills (11-6)

And in the final game of the Divisional Round of the Playoffs, the Number 2-seeded Buffalo Bills host the Number 3-seeded Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium. The Buffalo Bills were able to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend and they’re entering this weekend off the back of 6-straight victories. However, The Bills have lost at this stage in each of the last two seasons. As for Kansas City, they managed to cruise past the Miami Dolphins last time out and they’re currently on a 3-game winning streak. It’s also worth mentioning that Patrick Mahomes is 5-0 in the Divisional Round and he hasn’t thrown a single interception! In terms of my Prediction, I think The Chiefs will win this game. Even though the momentum is behind The Buffalo Bills right now and Kansas City haven’t been playing as well as they have in previous seasons, it’s still The Chiefs, it’s still Patrick Mahomes, and it’s ultimately still Buffalo! It will be intriguing to see how Mahomes copes in his first Playoff road game though!
