One of the most exciting Qualifying Sessions of the Season was anyone’s to play for at a Tifosi-filed Monza!
Q1
In Qualifying 1; Yuki Tsunoda, Lance Stroll, Franco Colapinto, Valtteri Bottas, and Zhou Guanyu were the five slowest drivers! Yuki Tsunoda will be very disappointed with a Q1 exit in his upgraded Visa Cash App RB whilst Lance Stroll suffered a surprise elimination after his final lap was ruined by a Yellow Flag from Kevin Magnussen. Franco Colapinto made a mistake in his debut F1 Qualifying Session as he ended up 18th whilst Valtteri Bottas headed Zhou Guanyu as both Kick Sauber’s also got shafted by the Yellow Flag! Lando Norris topped Q1 for McLaren by over a tenth and a half to the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc.
Q2
In Qualifying 2; Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Kevin Magnussen, Pierre Gasly, and Esteban Ocon all failed to make it into the Top 10 shootout! Fernando Alonso was unlucky to miss out on a Q3 appearance by just 1 hundredth of a second whilst Daniel Ricciardo did a good job to get his VCARB into P12! Kevin Magnussen ended up 13th for Haas whilst Pierre Gasly beat Alpine teammate Esteban Ocon to P14! It was Lewis Hamilton who topped Q2 for Mercedes, just ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen!
Q3
In Qualifying 3, a 1:19.327 was enough for Lando Norris to take a key Pole Position! Whilst he didn’t seem happy about it, Lando is clearly confident in his McLaren, and he’s definetly the favourite to win again tomorrow! Oscar Piastri completed a great 1-2 for McLaren whilst George Russell did a superb job to get P3 for Mercedes! Ferrari will start 4th and 5th after Charles Leclerc pipped Carlos Sainz by just 6 thousandths (of a second) whilst Lewis Hamilton will be disappointed with P6 given he’s less than a tenth off the Front Row! Max Verstappen will start 7th ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez as Red Bull’s struggles continue whilst Alex Albon did great to get 9th for Williams, ahead of Nico Hulkenberg’s Haas!
