Round 7 played host to Imola as Qualifying took place for the first European Race of the Season!
Q1
In Qualifying 1; Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, Kevin Magnussen, Fernando Alonso, and Logan Sargeant were the five slowest drivers! Valtteri Bottas was unlucky to narrowly miss out on a Q2 appearance whilst teammate Zhou Guanyu followed as Kick Sauber’s struggles continued! Kevin Magnussen was held up on his final run meaning he will start just 18th whilst Fernando Alonso had a shocking day in his Aston Martin! Logan Sargeant eventually ended up last after failing to get a valid lap time on the board! Max Verstappen topped Q1 for Red Bull, but Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc wasn’t too far behind in second!
Q2
In Qualifying 2; Sergio Perez, Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll, Alex Albon, and Pierre Gasly all failed to make it into the Top 10 shootout. Sergio Perez had an absolute shocker to get knocked out in Q2 for Red Bull whilst Esteban Ocon did a good job to end up P12. Lance Stroll will start 13th after a very disappointing day for Aston Martin whilst Alex Albon will start P14. Pierre Gasly was the slowest man in Q2 despite looking on it in the first part of Qualifying. Max Verstappen once again topped Charles Leclerc in this session!
Q3
In Qualifying 3; a 1:14.746 was enough for Max Verstappen to take his 8th-straight Pole Position! This is why I never doubt Max because he is truly undeniable! Oscar Piastri pulled out a fantastic lap to take second place whilst McLaren teammate Lando Norris is in just behind in third. Ferrari “will start” 4th and 5th with Charles Leclerc heading Carlos Sainz whilst George Russell did a really good job to get his Mercedes into P6 (and only 1 thousandth behind Carlos). Yuki Tsunoda pulled out another mega performance to take 7th for Visa Cash App RB, ahead of the other Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton whilst the second VCARB of Daniel Ricciardo will start P9. Nico Hulkenberg was the slowest man in Q3, but it’s another strong effort from the Haas driver!
