It was mixed conditions which meant we were in for an exciting Qualifying around the iconic Silverstone Circuit!
Q1
In Qualifying 1; Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen, Esteban Ocon, Sergio Perez, and Pierre Gasly were the five slowest drivers. Valtteri Bottas will be disappointed to have finally been outqualified by his Kick Sauber teammate whilst Kevin Magnussen had a disappointing outing. Esteban Ocon did not have a good time and was out as a result whilst Sergio Perez managed to beach his car at Copse Corner in another difficult moment for the Mexican. Pierre Gasly ended up slowest, but that was only because he didn’t get any competitive laps in. It was a Mercedes 1-2 in Q1 with Lewis Hamilton some 6 tenths ahead of teammate George Russell!
Q2
In Qualifying 2; Charles Leclerc, Logan Sargeant, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu, and Daniel Ricciardo all failed to make it into the Top 10 shootout. Charles Leclerc is having a really tough time right now and that showed again here whilst Logan Sargeant can be pleased with a P12 for Williams. Yuki Tsunoda wasn’t too far away in P13 whilst Zhou Guanyu managed to beat Daniel Ricciardo to a 7th-Row start after both men were a long way behind the rest! Lando Norris topped Q2 for McLaren with George Russell coming in in second again!
Q3
In Qualifying 3, a 1:25.819 was enough for George Russell to take another superb Pole Position (at home too)! George is absolutely flying right now, and he merits all the praise in the world! Lewis Hamilton completed a great 1-2 for Mercedes whilst Lando Norris had to settle for third! Max Verstappen could only manage 4th after dealing with some damage whilst Oscar Piastri will start behind in 5th. Nico Hulkenberg had another special day to get 6th for Haas, ahead of the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, whilst Lance Stroll will line up P8 for Aston Martin. Alex Albon will then start 9th after a great day in his Williams whilst Fernando Alonso rounded out the Top 10.
