For one final time in 2024, all 20 drivers went as fast as they possibly could to qualify as high as possible for tomorrow’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!
Q1
In Qualifying 1; Alex Albon, Zhou Guanyu, Lewis Hamilton, Franco Colapinto, and Jack Doohan were the five slowest drivers! Alex Albon will be gutted to have missed out on Q2 by less than 3 hundredths of a second whilst Zhou Guanyu could only manage P17 in his final Qualifying in Formula 1! Lewis Hamilton’s final Qualifying lap for Mercedes turned into a bit of a disaster as he got a bollard stuck under his car whilst Franco Colapinto was 19th, ahead of Jack Doohan who was slowest on debut! It was Charles Leclerc who topped Q1 for Ferrari, amazingly ahead of the Kick Sauber of Valtteri Bottas!
Q2
In Qualifying 2; Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc, and Kevin Magnussen all failed to make it into the Top 10 shootout! Visa Cash App RB will be satisfied with their days work as Yuki Tsunoda headed Liam Lawson whilst Lance Stroll will start P13 after an okay session! It was not an okay session though for Charles Leclerc whose costly lap time deletion means he will start all but last tomorrow whilst Kevin Magnussen also missed a good opportunity in his final Qualifying in the sport! Ferrari were once again fastest in Q2, this time with Carlos Sainz just narrowly ahead of Max Verstappen’s Red Bull!
Q3
In Qualifying 3, a 1:22.595 was enough for Lando Norris to take the final Pole Position of 2024! Lando did a great job here, and he’ll be very difficult to stop tomorrow! Oscar Piastri completed a perfect day for McLaren to edge out Carlos Sainz for second whilst Nico Hulkenberg did a sensational job to take P4 in his final Qualifying for Haas! Max Verstappen will start from 5th after a tricky final session, ahead of Pierre Gasly who did a brilliant job for Alpine whilst George Russell could only manage 7th! Fernando Alonso deserves a lot of praise for putting his Aston Martin up in P8, one place higher than Valtteri Bottas who did an incredible job in his final F1 Qualifying Session whilst Sergio Perez rounded out the Top 10!
