Aston Villa pulled out one of their best performances of the season to thrash Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX! Aston Villa really should’ve been awarded a penalty after Jacob Ramsay was brought down by Jack Hinshelwood, but somehow, the referee didn’t give it! Yasin Ayari was then unlucky as his free kick effort came back out off the post before Aston Villa had the lead in the 51st minute through a counter-attack goal by Marcus Rashford! Just 4 minutes later, and Brighton thought they were back on level terms through Simon Adingra, but the goal was ruled out for a handball against Kaoru Mitoma! In the 78th minute, Villa had their second as Marco Asensio finished well before Donyell Malen fired home a third in the 100th minute! In the end, it’s a pretty poor day for Brighton and Hove Albion! The Seagulls drop to 8th in the table and they head to Rivals Crystal Palace next time out! As for Aston Villa, this is a great win for them! Villa rise to 7th in the league and their next game is a big one at home against Nottingham Forest!

In the Second Half, Raul Jimenez forced David Raya into a decent save before, in the 73rd minute, Arsenal had their second as Bukayo Saka scored on his return! Rodrigo Muniz then missed a sitter as he headed wide from just a few yards out, but in the 94th minute, Muniz was able to score thanks to another deflection to at least get one back for Fulham! In additional time at the end of the First Half, Newcastle were able to take the lead as Alexander Isak tapped home from close range after a slip by Bryan Mbeumo! Why was Mbeumo at centre-back here?! In the Second Half, Brentford were awarded a penalty after Nick Pope wiped out Yoane Wissa, and it was Bryan Mbeumo who stepped up and scored to level the game up at 1-1! Ethan Pinnock then came close to giving Brentford the lead as his headed effort struck the post before, in the 74th minute, Newcastle were back in front as Sandro Tonali thrashed the ball home! Overall, this was a good win for Newcastle United! The Magpies remain 6th in the league and they head to Leicester Monday Night! As for Brentford, their strong away run comes to an end! A late equaliser for Crystal Palace denied Southampton a first home win since November! Jean-Philippe Mateta nearly fired Crystal Palace in front inside 90 seconds, but his effort came flying back off the crossbar before Southampton had the lead inside 20 minutes through Paul Onuachu! Onuachu’s header is good, but I do think Dean Henderson should be saving this! Aaron Ramsdale then made a decent save to deny Mateta an equalising goal before Eberechi Eze had a great opportunity which he poorly curled wide! And then, in the 92nd minute, Crystal Palace had an equalising goal as Matheus Franca managed to head the ball home to break home fans’ hearts! In the end, Southampton were so close here!
