2024/25 Premier League Roundup: Gameweek 13

West Ham 2-5 Arsenal

A crazy First Half saw Arsenal thump London Rivals West Ham United! After just 10 minutes, Arsenal had the lead as Gabriel scored yet another headed goal! In the 27th minute, it was 2-0 as Leandro Trossard finished off a great team goal before Arsenal were awarded a penalty after Bukayo Saka was brought down! Martin Odegaard stepped up and scored before just 2 minutes later, it was 4-0 to Arsenal as Kai Havertz slotted home nicely! In the 38th minute, West Ham had one back through Aaron Wan-Bissaka before Emerson made it 4-2 just a couple minutes later with a terrific free kick! However, before the end of the First Half, Arsenal were awarded another penalty which Bukayo Saka stepped up and scored from! In the end, it’s a pretty bad for West Ham United! The Hammers stay 14th in the table and they take on Leicester tomorrow night! As for Arsenal, this was a great performance from them! The Gunners rise to second in the league and they host Manchester United in a big game next time out!

 


Wolves 2-4 Bournemouth

A hat-trick of penalties resulted in a strong away win for AFC Bournemouth! After less than a couple of minutes, Bournemouth already had a penalty as Toti brought down Evanilson! Justin Kluivert stepped up and scored to make it 1-0 after 3! Just 2 minutes later, and Wolves were level through a great goal through Jorgen Strand Larsen, but the celebrations didn’t last long as Bournemouth were back in front in the 8th minute thanks to Milos Kerkez! A shocking error from Jose Sa then resulted in another Bournemouth penalty which Kluivert once again stepped up and scored from! In the 69th minute, Wolves had one back as Strand Larsen fired home again, but just 5 minutes later, it was another penalty to the visitors after an abysmal back pass from Craig Dawson! And wouldn’t you know it, Justin Kluivert stepped up and scored to complete an insane hat-trick! In the end, this was an absolutely appalling showing from Wolverhampton Wanderers! Wolves drop back inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th) and their next game is a big one away at Everton! As for AFC Bournemouth, well done to them! The Cherries remain 13th in the table and they host Tottenham next time out!

 


Brentford 4-1 Leicester

Mads Hermansen made a really great save to keep Kevin Schade’s effort out before Leicester had the lead in the 21st minute through Facundo Buonanotte! Jamie Vardy did really well here! Just 4 minutes later though and it was 1-all as Yoane Wissa found the back of the net! Another 4 minutes later and Brentford had the lead as Kevin Schade managed to scramble the ball past the Leicester Keeper! In the 8th minute of additional time at the end of the First Half, it was 3-1 as Schade scored again! And then, in the 59th minute, Kevin Schade completed his hat-trick with a cooly-taken finish! Overall, this is a great win for Brentford! The Bees rise to 8th in the league and their next game is a big one away at Aston Villa! As for Leicester City, they’re really struggling right now! The Foxes remain 16th in the table and they host West Ham next time out!

 


Manchester United 4-0 Everton

After both teams missed chances, Manchester United had the lead in the 34th minute through Marcus Rashford after a fortunate deflection off Jarrad Branthwaite! In the 41st minute, it was 2-0 to Man United as Joshua Zirkzee scored after Everton played themselves into trouble! Just a minute into the Second Half and it was 3-0 as Rashford managed to score again! And in the 64th minute, it was 4-0 to United as Zirkzee added his second after more errors from the visitors! Overall, this is a positive day for Manchester United! United rise to 9th in the league and their next game is a big one away at Arsenal! As for Everton, they were shocking here! The Toffees stay 15th in the table and they host Wolves next time out!

 


Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa

It was another great day for Chelsea as they breezed past Aston Villa! After just 7 minutes, Chelsea had the lead as Nicolas Jackson kept his good run of form going! Ollie Watkins then had a good chance to score which he tamely struck straight at Robert Sanchez before Emiliano Martinez made one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever seen, only for Jackson to fail to capitalise from! In the 36th minute, it was 2-0 to Chelsea as Enzo Fernandez finished really well! And in the 83rd minute, Chelsea wrapped up the 3 points thanks to a terrific goal from Cole Palmer! Overall, it’s a great win for Chelsea! The Blues stay third in the league and they go to Southampton next time out! As for Aston Villa, they’re really struggling right now! Villa drop to 12th in the table and their next game is a must-win at home against Brentford!

 


Liverpool 2-0 Manchester City

Liverpool firmly placed themselves as the favourites for this year’s Premier League Title as Manchester City look all but out of it! Stefan Ortega made a really good save early on to tip Virgil van Dijk’s effort onto the post before Liverpool had the lead after just 12 minutes through Cody Gakpo! Mohamed Salah’s assist was very good! Van Dijk then had another great headed chance which he once again failed to score from before Trent Alexander-Arnold was also close to making it 2-0! In the Second Half, Mohamed Salah was handed a golden opportunity which he somehow blazed over before another Manchester City defensive mess led to Liverpool being awarded a penalty! Mo Salah stepped up and scored to all but secure the win! Man City did get one chance after a mistake from Virgil van Dijk, but Kevin De Bruyne couldn’t beat Caoimhin Kelleher! Overall, it’s another great result for Liverpool! The Reds remain top of the league (by 9 points now) and their next game sees them play away at Newcastle! As for Manchester City, their season’s done! City drop to 5th in the table and they host Nottingham Forest next time out!

 


Tottenham 1-1 Fulham

After a defensive error, Bernd Leno did really well to stop Heung-Min Son from scoring before Fraser Forster pulled out a great save to deny Raul Jimenez! Alex Iwobi then came close for Fulham as he smashed the crossbar before James Maddison hit the post for Tottenham! In the 54th minute, it was Tottenham who had the lead as Brennan Johnson scored again after a great ball in from Timo Werner! In the 67th minute, it was all level as Tom Cairney scored with a great finish! However, in the 83rd minute, Cairney was sent off for what was an absolutely horrendous tackle! In the end, it’s a disappointing point for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs drop to 7th in the league and they go to Bournemouth Thursday Night! As for Fulham, they’ll take this! The Cottagers drop to 10th in the table and they host Brighton next time out!

 


Brighton 1-1 Southampton

Kaoru Mitoma had a decent opportunity handed to him which he narrowly put wide before Georginio Rutter struck the post! In the 29th minute, Brighton did have the lead as Kaoru Mitoma headed home well! Cameron Archer then had a great chance to equalise which he somehow made a complete mess of before Southampton were level in the 59th minute through Flynn Downes! Cameron Archer then thought he’d given Southampton the lead in the 67th minute, but his goal was ruled out for offside! In the end, this is a poor result for Brighton and Hove Albion! The Seagulls do rise to 4th in the table however, and they go to Fulham next time out! As for Southampton, this is a good point for them! The Saints remain bottom of the league and they host Chelsea Wednesday Night!

 


Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle

A late, late goal was enough for Crystal Palace to snatch a point at the expense of Newcastle United! Ismaila Sarr had a good opportunity which was saved well by Nick Pope before Daniel Munoz somehow missed an absolute sitter from just a couple of yards out! 8 minutes into the Second Half and it was Newcastle who took the lead thanks to a Marc Guehi own goal! Sarr then had another good opportunity which was once again saved by Nick Pope before Dan Burn pulled off a terrific goal-line clearance! Jean-Philippe Mateta then had a great chance to score which he blasted over before Crystal Palace finally had their equaliser in the 94th minute as Daniel Munoz got a little bit of redemption! In the end, this is a decent point for Crystal Palace, but they could’ve got more! The Eagles are now out of the Relegation Zone (and up into 17th) and they face Ipswich in a massive game tomorrow night! As for Newcastle United, it’s another frustrating result for them! The Magpies now find themselves 11th in the league and they host Liverpool next time out!

 


Nottingham Forest 1-0 Ipswich

Morgan Gibbs-White and Ryan Yates both had good opportunities to score which they failed to take before Ola Aina pulled out a wonderful goal-line block to deny Ipswich from taking the lead! Early in the Second Half and Nottingham Forest were awarded a penalty after Sammie Szmodics clipped Jota Silva’s leg! Chris Wood stepped up and scored from 12 yards to give Forest the lead after 49! Arijanet Muric then pulled off a terrific save to deny Murillo from doubling the hosts’ advantage before Jack Clarke had a chance to equalise, only to guide his effort straight at Matz Sels! Overall, it’s another positive 3 points for Nottingham Forest! Forest rise to 6th in the league and they go to Manchester City next time out! As for Ipswich Town, it’s another tight loss for them! The Tractor Boys remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th) and they host Crystal Palace in a massive game tomorrow night!
