Fulham 1-4 Wolves
A terrific display from Matheus Cunha helped Wolverhampton Wanderers thump Fulham at Craven Cottage! Raul Jimenez had an absolute sitter to score against his former club which he somehow smashed onto the crossbar before Fulham had the lead in the 20th minute through Alex Iwobi! This is a great goal from Iwobi! In the 31st minute, Wolves were level as Matheus Cunha finished off well after a terrific ball from Mario Lemina! 8 minutes into the Second Half, and Wolves had the lead as Joao Gomes finished calmly! Harry Wilson then came close to equalising as his long-range effort hit the crossbar before, in the 87th minute, it was 3-1 to the visitors as Matheus Cunha scored with a terrific effort! Oh, and Wolves weren’t done there as Goncalo Guedes made it 4-1 in the 95th minute! In the end, it’s an absolute shocker of a day for Fulham! The Cottagers drop to 9th in the league and they go to Tottenham on Sunday! As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, what a sensational win this was for them! Wolves rise out of the Relegation Zone (and into 17th) and they host Bournemouth next time out!
Southampton 2-3 Liverpool
A late penalty was enough for Liverpool to get over the line in Southampton! After 30 minutes, it was Liverpool who had the lead as Dominik Szoboszlai finished well after a horrendous bit of play from Southampton! What on earth were they doing?! Southampton were then awarded a penalty which was very close to being outside the box, and despite Caoimhin Kelleher making the initial save, Adam Armstrong was there to finish off the rebound! 11 minutes into the Second Half, and Southampton had the lead as Mateus Fernandes finished well! However, just 9 minutes later, it was 2-2 as Mohamed Salah scored after a terrible bit of Goalkeeping by Alex McCarthy! And then, after a handball by Yukinari Sugawara, it was Mo Salah who stepped up and scored from 12 yards to pick up a really important win for the visitors! In the end, Southampton will be kicking themselves once again! The Saints remain bottom of the league and they go to Brighton next time out! As for Liverpool, they got away with one here, but fair play to them for it! The Reds remain at the summit and their upcoming week is a big one with home games against Real Madrid and Manchester City!
Manchester City 0-4 Tottenham
One of the crazier results in Premier League history took place Saturday Night as Tottenham Hotspur smashed 4 past Manchester City at the Etihad! Erling Haaland had a couple of decent chances early on which he failed to convert with before Tottenham had the lead in the 13th minute through James Maddison! This literally came out of nowhere! Just 7 minutes later, and a terrible pass from Josko Gvardiol led to Maddison scoring again to double Spurs’ lead! It was then 3-0 in the 52nd minute as Pedro Porro fired home against his former club! Erling Haaland was then unlucky as his curling effort went off the crossbar and out before Ederson made a good save to stop Dejan Kulusevski from scoring another! However, in the 93rd minute, Tottenham did have their 4th as Brennan Johnson tapped home after a pathetic bit of defending from Kyle Walker! In the end, Manchester City are an absolute mess right now! City remain second in the league and they host Feyenoord tonight before a must-win game at Liverpool on Sunday! As for Tottenham Hotspur, they’ll remember this win for a very long time! Spurs rise to 6th in the table and they have home games against Roma and Fulham this week!
Aston Villa 2-2 Crystal Palace
Just 4 minutes in, and Crystal Palace had the lead thanks to a terrific solo run by Ismaila Sarr! In the 36th minute, it was 1-1 as Ollie Watkins showed a calm head to go around the Goalkeeper and finish off nicely! Leon Bailey then smashed the crossbar before Aston Villa were awarded a penalty after Bailey was fouled inside the box by Will Hughes! It was Youri Tielemans who stepped up, but he saw his penalty saved by Dean Henderson! And amazingly, just a minute later, Justin Devenny scored to send Palace into the break ahead! In the 77th minute, the game was all square again as Ross Barkley headed home superbly before Emiliano Martinez made a great save to tip the ball onto the post! In the end, it’s another disappointing result for Aston Villa! Villa rise to 8th in the league and they have two massive games this week at home to Juventus and away at Chelsea! As for Crystal Palace, this is a good point for them all things considered! The Eagles remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th) and they host Newcastle next time out!
Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest
Arsenal thought they’d taken the lead early on, but that was ruled out for offside before Arsenal did then properly have the lead in the 15th minute through Bukayo Saka! Matz Sels then made a good save to deny Saka a second before Thomas Partey made it 2-0 early in the Second Half with a great strike! And in the 86th minute, Arsenal had their third as young 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri finished well! Overall, this is a much better performance and result from Arsenal! The Gunners remain 4th in the league and they go to Sporting in the Champions League tonight followed by West Ham on Saturday! As for Nottingham Forest, they didn’t really do anything here! Forest drop to 7th in the table and they host Ipswich next time out!
Leicester 1-2 Chelsea
It only took 15 minutes for Chelsea to take the lead as Nicolas Jackson scored with a nice finish! Noni Madueke then had a goal ruled out for offside before Kasey McAteer came close to giving Leicester an equaliser! Wilfred Ndidi then had a really good chance for Leicester which he made a mess of before Madueke had another good chance which he also put wide! In the Second Half, Madueke made a great defensive block to stop teammate Cole Palmer from making it 2-0 (yes, you read that right) before Chelsea finally had their second in the 75th minute through Enzo Fernandez! Leicester were then asking for a penalty which I’m honestly surprised they didn’t get before they did eventually get one after Bobby Decordova-Reid was taken down! It was Jordan Ayew who stepped up and scored, but it ultimately didn’t change the result! In the end, it’s a loss for Leicester City which has seen the end of Steve Cooper in charge! The Foxes drop to 16th in the table and they go to Brentford next time out! As for Chelsea, it’s another win for them! The Blues remain third in the league and they have an exciting away match at FC Heidenheim Thursday Night followed by a home match against Aston Villa!
Bournemouth 1-2 Brighton
Despite Kepa Arrizabalaga making the initial save, Joao Pedro was there to tap home on the rebound to give Brighton the lead after just 4 minutes! 4 minutes into the Second Half, and it was 2-0 to Brighton as Kaoru Mitoma finished well after a terrific pass from Joao Pedro! Evanilson then had a really good chance which he pulled wide before Brighton were down to 10 men as Carlos Baleba was shown a second Yellow card! This was a very harsh decision in my opinion! In the 93rd minute, Bournemouth did have one back through David Brooks before Antoine Semenyo smashed the crossbar with the very last kick of the game! In the end, it’s a disappointing loss for AFC Bournemouth given their recent form! The Cherries drop to 13th in the table and they go to Wolves next time out! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, this is a great win for them! The Seagulls rise to 5th in the league and their next game sees them host Southampton Friday Night!
Newcastle 0-2 West Ham
A brilliant performance from West Ham United saw them win at Newcastle United on Monday Night Football! After just 10 minutes, West Ham had the lead as Tomas Soucek headed home well! Anthony Gordon was then gifted an opportunity to make it 1-1, but his effort was saved by Lukasz Fabianski before Alexander Isak had a great chance which he surprisingly put wide! In the 53rd minute, it was 2-0 to West Ham as Aaron Wan-Bissaka found the back of the net from a tight angle! Newcastle should’ve then had a penalty after Konstantinos Mavropanos got a hold of Callum Wilson, but nothing was given for some reason! In the end, it’s another disappointing home loss for Newcastle United! The Magpies drop to 10th in the league and they go to Crystal Palace next time out! As for West Ham United, what a win this is for them! The Hammers stay 14th in the table and their next fixture will be a challenge at home to Arsenal!
Ipswich 1-1 Manchester United
Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge of Manchester United resulted in a 1-all draw away at Ipswich Town! Just 2 minutes in, and Manchester United had the lead as Marcus Rashford scored after a poor bit of goalkeeping by Arijanet Muric! Liam Delap then had a great chance to make it 1-1 which was somehow saved by Andre Onana before Ipswich had their equaliser in the 43rd minute as Omari Hutchinson’s thunderbolt strike took a deflection off of the head of Noussair Mazraoui! In the Second Half, Liam Delap had another great chance to score which was once again saved well by Onana before Conor Chaplin had a chance to win it, but his effort went straight into the gloves of the United Keeper! In the end, it’s a decent point for Ipswich Town, but they could’ve won it! The Tractor Boys remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th) and they go to Nottingham Forest next time out! As for Manchester United, this was a disappointing start for Ruben Amorim! United rise to 12th in the table and they host both Bodo/Glimt and Everton in the next week!
Everton 0-0 Brentford
Mark Flekken made a great save to deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin from giving Everton the lead before Flekken once again kept Calvert-Lewin off the scoresheet! Yoane Wissa then had a really good chance which was saved well by Jordan Pickford before Christian Norgaard was given a straight Red Card after catching Pickford high! The thing is is I understand why this was given as a Red Card, but I do think it’s a little harsh! Anyway, Keane Lewis-Potter had a really good chance to score which he hit straight at the Goalkeeper before Beto had the chance to win it for Everton, but he blazed his header well off target! In the end, it’s actually a bit of a disappointing result for Everton! The Toffees do rise to 15th in the table, however, and they go to Manchester United next time out! As for Brentford, they actually did well here! The Bees remain 11th in the league and they take on Leicester in their next fixture!
