Brentford 3-2 Bournemouth
Brentford came from behind to edge out AFC Bournemouth in a 5-goal thriller! Marcos Senesi had a golden chance to make it 1-0 early on which he horribly blasted off target, but in the 17th minute, Bournemouth did have the lead through Evanilson! The pass back from Sepp van den Berg was absolutely abysmal, but Evanilson showed great composure to finish the chance off! Just 10 minutes later though and the game was all square as Yoane Wissa headed home after a successful long throw! Just 4 minutes into the Second Half though and it was Bournemouth who retook the lead thanks to Justin Kluivert! This was a lovely team goal! Less than a minute later though and it was 2-2 as Mikkel Damsgaard managed to beat Kepa at his near post! And then, in the 58th minute, Brentford had the lead as Yoane Wissa scored again after a terrific bit of play by Vitaly Janelt! Right at the end of the game, Bournemouth came so close to scoring an equaliser, but they could only hit the crossbar! Overall, it’s yet another home win for Brentford! The Bees enter the International Break 11th in the league and they go to Everton next time out! As for AFC Bournemouth, they’ll be disappointed with themselves for losing this game! The Cherries drop to 12th in the table and they take on Brighton after the International Break!
Nottingham Forest 1-3 Newcastle
Newcastle United picked up some much-needed momentum with a strong away win at Nottingham Forest! After just 21 minutes, Nottingham Forest had the lead as Murillo headed home from close range! This was far too easy for Forest! Matz Sels then made a couple of decent saves for the hosts before, in the 54th minute, Newcastle were level through Alexander Isak! Isak then had another great chance to score which he volleyed just wide before Newcastle did have the lead in the 72nd minute through Joelinton! This is such a good finish! And then, in the 83rd minute, Harvey Barnes found the back of the net to seal all 3 points for the visitors! In the end, it’s a disappointing result for Nottingham Forest! Forest drop to 5th in the league and their next game is a big one away at Arsenal! As for Newcastle United, this is more like it from them! The Magpies rise to 8th in the table and they host West Ham next time out!
Manchester United 3-0 Leicester
After 17 minutes, Manchester United had the lead thanks to a great strike from Bruno Fernandes! Wilfred Ndidi then had a good chance to score which he struck straight at Andre Onana before Victor Kristiansen scored an own goal to give Man United a 2-goal advantage! And then, in the 82nd minute, United’s 3 points were secured thanks to a terrific goal by Alejandro Garnacho! Overall, this is more like it from a Manchester United point of view! United stay 13th in the league and they face an away day at Ipswich after the International Break! As for Leicester City, they just weren’t good enough here! The Foxes remain 15th in the table and they host Chelsea next time out!
Brighton 2-1 Manchester City
Brighton and Hove Albion came from behind to hand Manchester City their 4th-straight loss! Bart Verbruggen pulled out a good save to deny Savinho from giving Manchester City the lead before City did have the lead in the 23rd minute through Erling Haaland! Haaland’s commitment to scoring here was really impressive, as was the pass from Mateo Kovacic! Haaland then had another chance which he struck the post with before City’s main man should’ve made it 2-0 as he headed over! In the Second Half, Jack Hinshelwood had a good opportunity which he headed straight at Ederson before Brighton had their leveller in the 78th minute through Joao Pedro! And then, just 5 minutes later, Brighton had the lead as Matt O’Riley scored on his PL debut! Overall, this is a terrific result for Brighton and Hove Albion! The Seagulls rise to 6th in the table and they go to Bournemouth next time out! As for Manchester City, it’s all just a bit of a mess for them right now! City remain second in the league and they host Tottenham in a big game after the International Break!
Tottenham 1-2 Ipswich
Ipswich Town pulled out a sensational first victory of the season to stun Tottenham Hotspur! Brennan Johnson somehow saw his “effort” run just wide of the post before Ipswich had the lead in the 31st minute thanks to a Sammie Szmodics overhead kick! Just a couple of minutes before the Second Half and it was 2-0 to Ipswich as Liam Delap smashed the ball home from just a yard or two out! Dominic Solanke then thought he’d made it 2-1 just 4 minutes into the Second Half, but his goal was ruled out due to the ball striking Solanke’s arm! Tottenham then did have one back properly in the 69th minute through Rodrigo Bentancur before Dominic Solanke had a chance to equalise for Spurs, but his effort was saved well by Arijanet Muric! In the end, this is an absolute disaster for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs drop to 10th in the league and their next game is a big one away at Manchester City! As for Ipswich Town, they’ll remember this win for a very, very long time! The Tractor Boys are now out of the Relegation Zone (and into 17th) and they host Manchester United next time out!
Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa
After an Aston Villa corner, Liverpool counter-attacked all the way down to the other end of the field as Darwin Nunez fired the hosts in front after 20 minutes! Liverpool then should’ve scored again from another counter-attack as Nunez finished horribly before Caoimhin Kelleher made a couple of good saves to keep Aston Villa off of the scoresheet! Morgan Rogers then had a golden chance to equalise right at the start of the Second Half which he poorly placed off target before Darwin Nunez had another good opportunity which he headed wide! And then, after a poor mistake by Diego Carlos, Mohamed Salah went on and scored to seal all 3 points for Liverpool! Overall, it’s another great result for Liverpool! The Reds remain top of the league and they go to Southampton following the International Break! As for Aston Villa, their form has completely dropped off! Villa drop to 9th in the table and they host Crystal Palace next time out!
Wolves 2-0 Southampton
Wolverhampton Wanderers held their nerve to pick up a crucial first victory of the season over Southampton! After less than 2 minutes, Wolves had the lead as Pablo Sarabia scored after a great ball through from Matheus Cunha! Just 10 minutes later and Southampton thought they’d equalised through Ryan Manning, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Nelson Semedo! This for me could’ve easily been given a foul on Semedo or a penalty to Southampton, so why VAR decided to overturn the original decision is beyond me! In the 51st minute, it was 2-0 to Wolves as Matheus Cunha smashed one in superbly! Jean-Ricner Bellegarde then probably should’ve made it 3-0, but he just couldn’t find the right connection! Overall, this was a much-needed win for Wolverhampton Wanderers so well done to them! Wolves rise to 19th in the table and they go to Fulham next time out! As for Southampton, they will feel hard done by here! The Saints are now bottom of the league and their next game is a massive test at home against Liverpool!
Crystal Palace 0-2 Fulham
Bernd Leno got a good hand on the ball to deny Jean-Philippe Mateta as Joachim Andersen cleared the ball off the line before a poor pass from Maxence Lacroix led to Emile Smith Rowe giving Fulham the lead right on Halftime! Smith Rowe then thought he’d scored again early in the Second Half, but his goal was ruled out for offside before Daichi Kamada was shown a straight Red Card for what was a terrible challenge! And then, in the 83rd minute, Harry Wilson scored for the third time in a week to seal all 3 points for the visitors! In the end, it’s another bad day at the office for Crystal Palace! The Eagles are now back inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th) and they go to Aston Villa next time out! As for Fulham, they’re looking really good right now! The Cottagers rise to 7th in the league and they host Wolves following the International Break!
Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal
There was nothing to separate Chelsea and Arsenal in another London Derby! Malo Gusto had a golden opportunity to give Chelsea the lead from just a couple of yards out which he somehow headed over the bar before Robert Sanchez made a decent save to deny Gabriel Martinelli! Kai Havertz then thought he’d given Arsenal the lead against his former club in the 32nd minute, but his goal was ruled out for a stupid offside! The reason it’s stupid is there was no reason for Havertz to be offside whatsoever! In the Second Half, Wesley Fofana had a decent opportunity which he put over the bar before Arsenal had the lead in the 60th minute through Gabriel Martinelli! The Goalkeeping from Sanchez here is terrible! However, just 10 minutes later and it was 1-1 as Pedro Neto smashed the ball home with a great long-range effort! Arsenal then could’ve and probably should’ve won it right at the death, but Leandro Trossard’s touch took the ball away from Kai Havertz’s toe! In the end, this is an alright point for Chelsea all things considered! The Blues rise to third in the league and they go to Leicester next time out! As for Arsenal, things are just not going to plan for them! The Gunners now find themselves 4th in the table and their next game is a massive one at home against Nottingham Forest!
West Ham 0-0 Everton
Crysencio Summerville pulled out a great block to get in the way of Abdoulaye Doucoure’s effort before Jordan Pickford made a decent save to keep Jarrod Bowen’s effort out! In the Second Half, Lukasz Fabianski made a decent stop to deny Jesper Lindstrom before Crysencio Summerville hit the post for West Ham! Danny Ings then had a couple of opportunities to win it for the hosts, but he was denied well both times by Jordan Pickford! In the end, it’s not the result that West Ham United would’ve been looking for! The Hammers stay 14th in the league and they go to Newcastle in two weeks time! As for Everton, this is a decent point for them! The Toffees remain 16th in the table and they host Brentford next time out!
