2024/25 Premier League Roundup: Gameweek 10

Tottenham 4-1 Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur picked up a big 3 points as they thrashed Aston Villa! Amadou Onana was unlucky as his headed effort struck the post before Aston Villa found themselves in front in the 32nd minute through Morgan Rogers! Just 4 minutes into the Second Half though and Tottenham were level through Brennan Johnson! The ball in from Heung-Min Son is amazing! In the 75th minute, Tottenham had the lead as Dominic Solanke finished brilliantly before just 4 minutes later, Solanke scored again to make it 3-1! And in the 96th minute, Tottenham had their 4th of the game thanks to a fantastic James Maddison free kick! Overall, this is a brilliant result for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs rise to 7th in the table and their next week sees them play away at Galatasaray before they host Ipswich! As for Aston Villa, this is a day to forget for them! Villa drop to 6th in the league and they face a big week away at both Club Brugge and Liverpool!

 


Wolves 2-2 Crystal Palace

In a game that was important for both teams to win, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace ultimately had to share the points! Craig Dawson pulled out a really good block to deny Will Hughes before Crystal Palace somehow failed to take the lead with either Trevor Chalobah or Jean-Philippe Mateta! In the Second Half, Pablo Sarabia had a golden chance to put Wolves in front which he struck straight at Dean Henderson before Crystal Palace had the lead in the 60th minute through Trevor Chalobah! What on earth was Jose Sa doing here?! Just 7 minutes later though and it was 1-all as Jorgen Strand Larsen found the back of the net before in the 72nd minute, Wolves had the lead through Joao Gomes! However, just 5 minutes later and it was back to all square thanks to Marc Guehi! And right at the end of the game, Crystal Palace thought they’d won it through Jean-Philippe Mateta, but his goal was ruled out for a contentious foul on the Goalkeeper! In the end, this wasn’t the result that Wolverhampton Wanderers were looking for. Wolves drop back to bottom of the league and their next game is a must-win at home to Southampton! As for Crystal Palace, they’ll feel hard done by here! The Eagles remain 17th in the table and they host Fulham next time out!

 


Nottingham Forest 3-0 West Ham

After 27 minutes, Nottingham Forest had the lead as Chris Wood once again found the back of the net! Chris Wood then pulled out a terrific defensive block to keep the game at 1-0 before Edson Alvarez was sent off in additional time at the end of the First Half for what was a rather stupid challenge! In the 65th minute, it was 2-0 to Nottingham Forest as Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cross found its way into the back of the net after a slight deflection off of Konstantinos Mavropanos! Nikola Milenkovic then had a great chance to make it 3-0 which he headed just wide before Forest had their third thanks to a smashing strike from Ola Aina! The hosts then came close to scoring even more goals, but Lukasz Fabianski managed to pull out a couple of world-class saves! Overall, what a win for Nottingham Forest! Forest are now third in the league and they take on Newcastle in their next matchup! As for West Ham United, nothing is clicking for them right now! The Hammers drop to 14th in the table and they host Everton next time out (in what is a must-win game for them)!

 


Bournemouth 2-1 Manchester City

Manchester City’s 32-game unbeaten run in the league finally came to the end at the hands of a brilliant AFC Bournemouth side! After Nathan Ake lost the ball poorly, Ederson did a great job to make a back-to-back save, but that was just a warning as Bournemouth quickly had the lead in the 9th minute through Antoine Semenyo! Semenyo did so well here! In the Second Half, Ederson made another important save to keep it at just 1-0, but in the 64th minute, it was 2-0 as Evanilson found the back of the net! Marcus Tavernier then struck the post before Adam Smith missed an open goal to make it 3-0, and I cannot believe he missed here! In the 82nd minute, it was 2-1 as Josko Gvardiol scored yet another goal before, in additional time, Erling Haaland hit the post before Phil Foden fired his effort just wide of the goal! Overall, this is a famous and historic win for AFC Bournemouth! The Cherries rise to 10th in the table and they go to Brentford next time out! As for Manchester City, their unbeaten run is finally over! City drop to second in the league and they face a difficult week away at both Sporting (tonight) and Brighton (on Saturday)!



Liverpool 2-1 Brighton

Liverpool came from behind to pick up an important win over Brighton and Hove Albion! Bart Verbruggen made a really good save to keep Darwin Nunez’s effort out before Brighton had the lead in the 14th minute through Ferdi Kadioglu! This is a terrific goal! Caoimhin Kelleher then made a vital save to stop Georginio Rutter from making it 2-0 before Kadioglu had another good chance which he directed well over the crossbar! Joe Gomez then had a good opportunity which he failed to take before Verbruggen pulled off a couple of really good saves! However, in the 69th minute, Liverpool were level through Cody Gakpo before, just 3 minutes later, Mohamed Salah scored brilliantly to turn the game on its head completely! Overall, this is a good win for Liverpool! The Reds are now top of the league and they face a massive week at home against both Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, 3 minutes did them in here! The Seagulls drop to 8th in the table and they host Manchester City next time out!

 


Fulham 2-1 Brentford

Two injury-time goals from Harry Wilson saw Fulham snatch a dramatic victory away from Brentford! Mark Flekken pulled off a nice double save to keep it at 0-0 before Reiss Nelson had a great chance which he poorly drilled wide! In the 24th minute, it was Brentford who had the lead as Vitaly Janelt scored after a wonderful strike from long range! However, in the 92nd minute, Fulham had their equaliser as Harry Wilson scored with a great finish of his own! Bernd Leno then made an amazing save to keep it at 1-1 before, in the 97th minute, Harry Wilson scored again to snatch an unlikely victory for the hosts! In the end, this is a terrific win for Fulham! The Cottagers rise to 9th in the league and they go to Crystal Palace this Saturday! As for Brentford, what a disaster for them! The Bees drop to 12th in the table and they host Bournemouth next time out!

 


Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea

Noni Madueke had a great chance to give Chelsea the lead which he hit the post with before Marcus Rashford had a great chance which he smashed the bar with! In the Second Half, Pedro Neto came within a whisker of giving Chelsea the lead before Manchester United were awarded a penalty after Robert Sanchez took out Rasmus Hojlund! Bruno Fernandes then stepped up and scored to give United the lead with 20 minutes left on the clock! However, just 4 minutes, and it was 1-1 as Moises Caicedo smashed the ball home! In the end, it’s not the worst point in the world for Manchester United! United now find themselves 13th in the table and they host PAOK and Leicester this week in what are very much 2-must-win games! As for Chelsea, they’ll have mixed feelings surrounding this result! The Blues rise to 4th in the league and they host FC Noah on Thursday Night followed by a massive home game against Arsenal!

 


Ipswich 1-1 Leicester

A late, late Leicester City goal meant Ipswich Town’s wait for a first Premier League win of the Season continues! Dara O’Shea had a really good heading opportunity which he poorly put wide before Ipswich finally had the lead in the 55th minute thanks to a terrific volley from Leif Davis! However, Ipswich were then down to 10-men in the 77th minute as Kalvin Phillips was shown a second Yellow Card! Cameron Burgess then pulled out an incredible block to stop Jordan Ayew from equalising, but then, in the 94th minute, Ayew did manage to find the back of the net to rescue a point for the visitors! In the end, this is another tough one to take for Ipswich Town! The Tractor Boys remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th) and they go to Tottenham next time out! As for Leicester City, they’ll take this result! The Foxes stay 15th in the league and their next game sees them play away at Manchester United!

 


Newcastle 1-0 Arsenal

After just 12 minutes, Newcastle had the lead as Alexander Isak headed home brilliantly after a great ball in from Anthony Gordon! Isak then had a good chance at the start of the Second Half which was comfortably saved by David Raya before Declan Rice had a great chance to equalise for Arsenal which he headed wide! Overall, this is a positive 3 points for Newcastle United! The Magpies rise to 11th in the table and they go to Nottingham Forest next time out! As for Arsenal, they’re really struggling right now! The Gunners drop to 5th in the league and they face a massive away week at both Inter Milan (tomorrow) and Chelsea (on Sunday)!

 


Southampton 1-0 Everton

Southampton finally managed to pick up their first win of the season over a disappointing Everton! Adam Armstrong had a decent chance which he blasted over the bar before Aaron Ramsdale made a sensational save to deny Michael Keane! This is well worth a watch! Jack Harrison then had a really good chance which he put just wide before Beto smashed the crossbar from just a few yards out! In the 85th minute, it was Southampton who had the lead as Adam Armstrong scored a vital goal for his side! However, Everton then thought they’d equalised through Beto, but it was ruled out for offside! Overall, this is a crucial win for Southampton! The Saints rise to 19th in the table and their next game is just as big away at Wolves! As for Everton, they’ll be massively kicking themselves for losing this game! The Toffees stay 16th in the league and they go to West Ham next time out!
