2023 NFL Week 8 Preview and Predictions: Part 2

(6-1) Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Commanders (3-4)

The Washington Commanders suffered a disappointing 14-7 loss at the New York Giants last week and they currently sit third in the NFC East with a 3-4 record. As for Philadelphia, they bounced back with a good victory over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7 and they currently lead the NFC East with a really good 6-1 record. In terms of my Prediction, I fully expect The Eagles to win this game. Philly should be way too strong for Washington.

(3-3) Houston Texans @ Carolina Panthers (0-6)

The Carolina Panthers enter this game off of a much-need Bye Week as they currently occupy last place in the NFC South as the only team in the entire league yet to get a win on the board. As for Houston, they two enter this game off their Bye Week and they are currently second in the AFC South with a decent 3-3 record. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going with The Texans. In a battle between the first two picks of this year’s NFL Draft, I think C. J. Stroud may go and show Carolina why they should’ve picked him first.

(4-2) Cleveland Browns @ Seattle Seahawks (4-2)

In a really exciting matchup, the Seattle Seahawks host the Cleveland Browns at Lumen Field. The Seattle Seahawks won at home against the Arizona Cardinals last week and they currently sit second in the NFC West with a good 4-2 record. As for Cleveland, they just about got the victory in Indianapolis last time out and they are currently third in the AFC North, also with a 4-2 record. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to back The Seahawks to beat The Browns. Both sides can easily walk out of this game with the W, but I’m going to go with Seattle because I do think they’re the better team.

(6-1) Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos (2-5)

The Denver Broncos picked up a victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, but they are still bottom of the AFC West with a disappointing 2-5 record. As for Kansas City, they beat the Los Angeles Chargers last time out and they currently lead the AFC West as the only team with a positive record (6-1). In terms of my Prediction, I’d be stunned if The Chiefs didn’t win this game. Kansas are by far a better team than Denver and they could win this one by a big margin.

(5-2) Baltimore Ravens @ Arizona Cardinals (1-6)

The Arizona Cardinals’ losing streak stretched to 4 games last week after a loss to the Seattle Seahawks and they are currently bottom of the NFC West with a pretty bad 1-6 record. As for Baltimore, they demolished the Detroit Lions 38-6 in Week 7 and they currently lead the AFC North with a pretty good 5-2 record. In terms of my Prediction, The Ravens should absolutely smash The Cardinals. Because of this, they probably won’t, but Baltimore will still have enough to get the job done.

(3-3) Cincinnati Bengals @ San Francisco 49ers (5-2)

The two losing sides in last year’s Championship games face off as the San Francisco 49ers host the Cincinnati Bengals. The San Francisco 49ers suffered another disappointing loss last week (at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings), but they are still leading the NFC West with a 5-2 record. As for Cincinnati, they’re coming into this game off the back of two wins and a Bye, but they are still bottom of the AFC North at .500 (3-3). In terms of my Prediction, I am going to say that The 49ers will win this game. I nearly put The Bengals, but I remembered that The Niners don’t tend to lose that often at home.

(2-5) Chicago Bears @ Los Angeles Chargers (2-4)

This week’s Sunday Night Football sees the Los Angeles Chargers welcome the Chicago Bears to SoFi Stadium. The Los Angeles Chargers lost again last week (at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs) and they are currently third in the AFC West with a disappointing 2-4 record. As for Chicago, they pulled out a great victory at home to the Las Vegas Raiders last time out, but they are still bottom of the NFC North with a 2-5 record. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going with The Chargers. Really, LA should comfortably win this game, but who knows anymore?

(3-4) Las Vegas Raiders @ Detroit Lions (5-2)

The final game of Week 8 sees the Detroit Lions host the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. The Detroit Lions were taught a lesson by the Baltimore Ravens last week, but they are still leading the NFC North as the only team with a positive record. As for Las Vegas, they suffered a very disappointing loss in Chicago last time out and they currently sit second in the AFC West with a sub-par record of 3-4. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going with Detroit. The Lions are a better Football team than The Raiders (it’s as simple as that).
