2023 NFL Week 2 Preview and Predictions: Part 2

(0-1) Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans (0-1)

The Houston Texans were swept aside by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 (9-25) and they currently find themselves bottom of the AFC South as a result. As for Indianapolis, they lost at Jacksonville last week and they are currently third in the AFC South. In the end, I’m picking Houston to win this game. Both teams could easily both win and/or lose this game, but I’m going with The Texans because I believe in C. J. Stroud.

(1-0) San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams (1-0)

The Los Angeles Rams started their season with a really good 30-13 victory over Division Rivals Seattle, and they currently lead the NFC West. As for San Francisco, they sent a message to the rest of the league by thrashing The Steelers in Pittsburgh. The 49ers are 2nd in the NFC West. In the end, I expect The 49ers to win this game. Whilst LA did impress me last week, the Niners look to be on a different level and they also have a pretty good record when it comes to facing and beating The Rams.

(0-1) New York Giants @ Arizona Cardinals (0-1)

The Arizona Cardinals weren’t too far off beating the Washington Commanders last week (16-20), but they did still lose and they sit third in the NFC West as a result. As for New York, they got humiliated by the Dallas Cowboys in a 40-0 loss, and they are currently bottom of the NFC East as the only team yet to pick up a win in that division. In the end, I’m picking The Cardinals to beat The Giants on Sunday. Arizona did a decent job against Washington last week, and I already rated The Commanders over Division Rivals The Giants so that definitely didn’t change after last week.

(1-0) New York Jets @ Dallas Cowboys (1-0)

Two teams with big aspirations for the 2023 NFL Season collide as the Dallas Cowboys welcome the New York Jets to AT&T Stadium. The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their season with a ginormous 40-0 victory over the New York Giants, and they currently sit second in the NFC East. As for New York, The Jets pulled off a great overtime victory against Buffalo last week, but they’ll be without star Quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the rest of the season. In the end, I’m picking Dallas to win this game. I think both of these teams are very good and impressed me a lot last weekend, but I have to go with The Cowboys mainly because The Jets have lost their main piece of the potential Super Bowl puzzle.

(1-0) Washington Commanders @ Denver Broncos (0-1)

The Denver Broncos lost by a point against Division Rivals Las Vegas in Week 1, and they are currently third in the AFC West. As for Washington, they managed to start their season with a victory over the Arizona Cardinals, and they find themselves third in the NFC East. In the end, I’m picking Denver to pick up their first win of the season. This is another close one for me and I don’t really have an explanation as to why I’ve picked The Broncos other than I just have.

(1-0) Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots (0-1)

AFC East Rivals the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots meet in the second Sunday Night Football of the Season. The New England Patriots lost by 5 points against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, and they are currently third in the AFC East. As for Miami, they pulled out a brilliant 36-34 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers last week, and they currently sit second in the AFC East. In the end, I think Miami will win this game and go 2-0. I actually think The Patriots are a decent team, but I don’t think they're nearly as good as a Miami team that can score points for fun!

(1-0) New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers (0-1)

The Carolina Panthers were sort of swept aside by the Atlanta Falcons in their opening game, and they currently sit bottom of the NFC South as the only team without a victory to their name. As for New Orleans, they only just got past the Tennessee Titans last week (15-16) and they find themselves in third spot in the NFC South. In the end, I’m picking The Saints to beat The Panthers. I’m not as convinced about this result as I would’ve been before the season started given New Orleans’ struggles against Tennessee last week. However, I still think they’ll have enough to beat Carolina.

(1-0) Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1)

The Pittsburgh Steelers were demolished by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 (30-7), and they are currently bottom of the AFC North because of it. As for Cleveland, they impressed me last week as they thrashed Division Rivals Cincinnati 24-3! The Browns currently lead the AFC North. In the end, I’m picking Cleveland to win this game. Both teams had completely opposite Week 1’s in terms of positives and negatives, and based on that, it would probably be safe to predict The Steelers to win this game as we know how bizarre the NFL is. However, I think Cleveland could and will cruise past Pittsburgh to a 2-0 start.
