2023 NFL Week 18 Preview and Predictions

(9-7) Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens (13-3)

The Pittsburgh Steelers head to Baltimore to take on their Rivals in a game they have to win if they want any chance of making the Playoffs. The Baltimore Ravens smashed the Miami Dolphins last week, and as it stands, The Ravens have already won the AFC North (with a 13-3 record) and they’ve also sealed the Number 1 seed (in the AFC). As for Pittsburgh, they picked up a great win in Seattle last time out, but if the season ended today, finishing third in the AFC North with a 9-7 record wouldn’t be enough for them to make the Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I expect Baltimore to win this game. This is a big test for Pittsburgh, but I don’t think they’re quite good enough to pull it off.

(9-7) Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts (9-7)

The Indianapolis Colts host the Houston Texans in what is basically an early Playoff game. The Indianapolis Colts beat the Las Vegas Raiders last weekend, and if the season ended today, The Colts would finish second in the AFC South with a 9-7 record which would be enough for them to make the Playoffs (as the Number 7 seed). As for Houston, they cruised past the Tennessee Titans last time out and they currently sit third in the AFC South with a 9-7. As it stands, The Texans aren’t in a Playoff position. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to go with Houston to win this game. This is an incredibly difficult game to call, but with both teams’ seasons on the line, I have to go with The Texans due to their Quarterback.

(11-5) Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals (8-8)

The Cincinnati Bengals lost in Kansas City last weekend and they currently sit bottom of the AFC North with an 8-8 record. As it stands, The Bengals are already out of Playoff contention. As for Cleveland, they made it 4 wins on the bounce last time out against the New York Jets, and if the season ended today, The Browns would take the Number 5 seed in the AFC Playoffs after finishing second in the AFC North with an 11-5 record. In terms of my Prediction, I think The Browns will win here. Cleveland are a really good team whilst I just feel like Cincinnati are waiting for the season to end.

(7-9) Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions (11-5)

Credit: NFL

The Detroit Lions lost 19-20 against the Dallas Cowboys last weekend and they currently lead the NFC North with an 11-5 record. As it stands, The Lions have the Number 3 seed in the NFC, but the Number 2 seed is still available. As for Minnesota, they lost for the third-straight week last time out (against The Packers), and if the season ended today, finishing third in the NFC North with a 7-9 record would not be enough for them to make the Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, The Lions should win this game. Minnesota have seemingly lost it whilst The Lions are a much stronger side.

(9-7) Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans (5-11)

Credit: WSMV

The Tennessee Titans lost for the third-straight game last time out (in Houston) and they currently sit bottom of the AFC South with a 5-11 record. As it stands, The Titans have the third-worst record in the AFC. As for Jacksonville, they thrashed the Carolina Panthers last time out, and if the season ended today, The Jaguars would win the AFC South with a 9-7 record which would also give them the Number 4 seed in the AFC (as a result). In terms of my Prediction, I expect The Jaguars to win this game. The Jags are one game away from going back to the Playoffs, and it would be a disaster for them if they lost this game.

(7-9) Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints (8-8)

The New Orleans Saints host the Atlanta Falcons in a must-win game for both sides. The New Orleans Saints picked up a huge win in Tampa Bay last weekend and they currently sit second in the NFC South with a record of 8-8. As it stands, The Saints are just outside the Playoff places. As for Atlanta, they suffered a poor loss in Chicago last time out, and if the season ended today, finishing third in the NFC South with a 7-9 record would not be enough for them to make the Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I expect New Orleans to win this game. The Saints are a much better side than The Falcons and a win here gives them at least a chance at making the Playoffs.

(8-8) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers (2-14)

The Carolina Panthers were stuffed 26-0 in Jacksonville last weekend and they currently sit bottom of the AFC South with a terrible 2-14 record. As it stands, The Panthers have already guaranteed themselves to be the worst team of the 2023 NFL Season. As for Tampa Bay, they lost an important home clash against the New Orleans Saints last time out, but if the season ended today, The Bucs would still win the NFC South with an 8-8 record which would grant them the Number 4 seed in the NFC Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I genuinely think Carolina will win this game. There are always odd results in the final week of the NFL Regular Season (or any week to be honest) and I just have a feeling that The Buccaneers are going to blow it.

(6-10) New York Jets @ New England Patriots (4-12)

The New England Patriots lost in Buffalo last weekend and they currently sit bottom of the AFC East with a 4-12 record. As it stands, The Patriots have the worst record in the entire AFC. As for New York, they lost in Cleveland last Thursday Night, and if the season ended today, The Jets would finish third in the AFC East with a disappointing 6-10 record. In terms of my Prediction, I’ll go with The Patriots to win this game. I don’t know why, but I feel like a loss here for New York would just sum up their season.

(7-9) Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers (8-8)

The Green Bay Packers picked up a big victory in Minnesota last Sunday Night and they currently sit second in the NFC North at .500. As it stands, The Packers are occupying the final spot in the NFC Playoffs. As for Chicago, they thrashed the Atlanta Falcons last time out, but they are still bottom of the NFC North with a 7-9 record. If the season ended today, The Bears would finish as the 11th-best team in the NFC. In terms of my Prediction, I am going to back The Packers to win this game and make it to the Playoffs. It would be utterly disastrous (for them) if Green Bay slipped up from here.

(8-8) Denver Broncos @ Las Vegas Raiders (7-9)

The Las Vegas Raiders lost in Indianapolis last weekend and they currently sit third in the AFC West with a sub-par 7-9 record. As it stands, The Raiders are already out of Playoff contention. As for Denver, they beat the LA Chargers last time out and they are currently second in the AFC West with an okay 8-8 record. If the season ended today, The Broncos would end up as the 10th-best team in the AFC. In terms of my Prediction, I believe the Denver Broncos will win this game. I think Denver are a stronger side than Las Vegas, but to be honest, this game really doesn’t matter that much.

(11-5) Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants (5-11)

Credit: Big Blue View

The New York Giants lost for the third-straight week last time out (against The Rams) and they currently sit third in the NFC East with a disappointing 5-11 record. As it stands, The Giants have the 4th-worst record in the NFC. As for Philadelphia, they suffered a terrible home defeat against the Arizona Cardinals last weekend, and if the season ended today, The Eagles would have to settle for the Number 5 seed in the NFC Playoffs due to finishing second in the NFC East with an 11-5 record. In terms of my Prediction, I do expect Philly to bounce back and win this game. It’s not been the best of years for The Eagles, but they still have a decent chance of winning the Division and maybe even securing the Number 2 seed.

(8-8) Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals (4-12)

Credit: NFL on YouTube

The Arizona Cardinals enter Week 18 off the back of a great win in Philadelphia, but they are still currently bottom of the NFC West with a record of 4-12. As it stands, The Cardinals have the second-worst record in the NFC. As for Seattle, they suffered a really disappointing home loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers last time out, and if the season ended today, finishing third in the NFC West with an 8-8 record would see them just miss out on the Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I actually think Arizona are going to win this game. I think Seattle have lost it now whilst The Cardinals look like they’re going to end their season on a decent little high.

(10-6) Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers (5-11)

Credit: NFL on YouTube

The Los Angeles Chargers lost for the 4th-straight game last time out in Denver and they currently sit bottom of the AFC West with a poor 5-11 record. As it stands, The Chargers are the second-worst team in the AFC. As for Kansas City, they managed to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 and they currently lead the AFC West with an okay 10-6 record. If the season ended today, The Chiefs would enter the (AFC) Playoffs as the Number 3 seed. In terms of my Prediction, I fully expect The Chiefs to win this game. Kansas are the much stronger and better side, and I think they’ll win this game pretty comfortably.

(11-5) Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Commanders (4-12)

Credit: NFL on YouTube

The Washington Commanders lost for the 7th successive game last weekend (against the San Francisco 49ers) and they currently sit bottom of the NFC East with a poor 4-12 record. If the season ended today, The Commanders would finish as the third-worst NFC side. As for Dallas, they just about managed to beat the Detroit Lions last Saturday Night, and as it stands, The Cowboys are leading the NFC East with an 11-5 record which would also give them the Number 2 seed in the NFC Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I am going to say that Dallas will win this game. However, it also feels like a game that The Cowboys could easily lose which is slightly concerning for them.

(9-7) Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco 49ers (12-4)

Credit: NFL

The San Francisco 49ers won in Washington last weekend, and as it stands, they’ve already sealed both the NFC West Title (with a 12-4 record) and the Number 1 seed in the NFC. As for LA, they made it 3 wins on the spin last time out (against The Giants) and they currently sit second in the NFC West with a good 9-7 record. If the season ended today, The Rams would enter the NFC Playoffs as the Number 6 seed. In terms of my Prediction, I am going to back The 49ers to win this game. The main reason for this is San Francisco don’t lose against teams in their Division.

(10-6) Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins (11-5)

Credit: NFL

The final Sunday Night Football of the Regular Season sees the Miami Dolphins host the Buffalo Bills with the AFC East Title on the line. The Miami Dolphins got absolutely destroyed by the Baltimore Ravens (19-56) last weekend, but if the season ended today, The Dolphins would win the AFC East with an 11-5 record which would also give them the second seed in the AFC. As for Buffalo, they made it 4 wins on the bounce last time out (against The Patriots) and they currently sit second in the AFC East with a decent 10-6 record. As it stands, The Bills occupy the Number 6 seed in the AFC Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to back The Bills to win this game. Miami have shown time and time again that they can’t cope against the top teams whilst Buffalo look really good at the moment.
