2023 NFL Week 17 Preview and Predictions: Part 2

(11-4) San Francisco 49ers @ Washington Commanders (4-11)

The Washington Commanders lost for the 6th-straight game last time out (at The Jets) and they currently sit bottom of the NFC East with a poor 4-11 record. As it stands, The Commanders have the third-worst record in the NFC. As for San Francisco, they got stunned at home by the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day, but if the season ended today, they would still win the NFC West with an 11-4 record which would also give them the Number 1 seed in the NFC. In terms of my Prediction, I expect The 49ers to win this game. I’d like to think (for them) that last week was a one-off for San Francisco whilst The Commanders are just a poor team.

(2-13) Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars (8-7)

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost for the 4th-straight game last time out (in Tampa Bay), but they are still currently leading the AFC South with an okay 8-7 record. As it stands, The Jaguars occupy the Number 4 seed in the AFC. As for Carolina, they just about lost at home to the Green Bay Packers last weekend and they currently sit bottom of the NFC South with a terrible 2-13 record. If the season ended today, The Panthers would finish as the worst team in the entire NFL. In terms of my Prediction, I fully expect Jacksonville to win this game. This is a great opportunity for The Jags to snap their losing streak and I honestly think their season’s over if they don’t beat The Panthers.

(11-4) Miami Dolphins @ Baltimore Ravens (12-3)

The Baltimore Ravens host the Miami Dolphins in a huge game between the two best teams in the AFC! The Baltimore Ravens stuffed the San Francisco 49ers on Christmas Day to extend their winning run to 5 games and they currently lead the AFC North with a great 12-3 record. As it stands, The Ravens occupy the Number 1 seed in the AFC. As for Miami, they beat the Dallas Cowboys last time out, and if the season ended today, The Dolphins would win the AFC East with an 11-4 record which would also see them take the Number 2 seed in the Playoffs (on the AFC side of things). In terms of my Prediction, I have to back Baltimore to beat Miami. This is a terrific game, but I have to go with The Ravens simply because of how they played last week.

(5-10) Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans (8-7)

The Houston Texans lost at home to the Cleveland Browns in Week 16 and they currently sit third in the AFC South with a decent 8-7 record. If the season ended today, The Texans would just miss out on the Playoffs. As for Tennessee, they lost at home against the Seattle Seahawks last time out and they are currently bottom of the AFC South with a disappointing 5-10 record. As it stands, The Titans have the third-worst record in the AFC. In terms of my Prediction, I expect The Texans to win this game. This is a big game for Houston, but I expect they’ll have enough to win it.

(8-7) Pittsburgh Steelers @ Seattle Seahawks (8-7)

The Seattle Seahawks welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to Lumen Field in a big game for both sides. The Seattle Seahawks won in Tennessee last week and they currently sit third in the NFC West with a decent 8-7 record. As it stands, The Seahawks are occupying a Playoff spot (7th seed). As for Pittsburgh, they stuffed Division Rivals Cincinnati last time and they are currently third in the AFC North with a record of 8-7. If the season ended today, The Steelers would just miss out on the Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to back Seattle to win this one. This is a must-win game for both sides, and I’m backing The Seahawks simply because they’re at home.

(5-10) Los Angeles Chargers @ Denver Broncos (7-8)

The Denver Broncos suffered a terrible loss at home to the New England Patriots on Christmas Eve and they currently sit third in the AFC West with a sub-par 7-8 record. As it stands, The Broncos are barely in Playoff contention. As for LA, they lost again last week (at home to Buffalo) and they are currently bottom of the AFC West with a disappointing 5-10 record. If the season ended today, The Chargers would finish as the second-worst team in the AFC. In terms of my Prediction, I think The Broncos will win this game. I’ve honestly given up with both of these teams so I’m just going with Denver because why not!?

(8-7) Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs (9-6)

The Kansas City Chiefs lost again last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, but they are still currently leading the AFC West with a 9-6 record. If the season ended today, The Chiefs would take the Number 3 seed in the AFC Playoffs. As for Cincinnati, they got stuffed in Pittsburgh last time out, and as it stands, being bottom of the AFC North with an 8-7 record isn’t enough for them to occupy a spot in the Playoffs. In terms of my Prediction, I am going to back The Bengals to win this game. I’m sick of backing The Chiefs only for them to lose so I’m going to go against them for a week. Also, Cincinnati need to win this game more than Kansas City.

(7-8) Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings (7-8)

Sunday Night Football sees the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers collide in a must-win game for both sides. The Minnesota Vikings lost at home to the Detroit Lions last time out and if the season ended today, finishing second in the NFC North with a 7-8 record would not be enough for them to make the Playoffs. As for Green Bay, they just about won in Carolina last weekend and they currently sit third in the NFC North with an okay 7-8 record. As it stands, The Packers are still in Playoff contention. In terms of my Prediction, I will back The Vikings to win this game. I think this will be a pretty close game, but I’m going with Minnesota as I think they’re better than Green Bay
