2023 NFL Week 12 Preview and Predictions: Part 1

(4-6) Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions (8-2)

Thanksgiving Football kicks off with an NFC North clash as the Detroit Lions play hosts to the Green Bay Packers. The Detroit Lions made it 3 wins in a row with a 31-26 victory over the Chicago Bears last week and they currently lead the NFC North with a great 8-2 record. As for Green Bay, they picked up a really good win over the LA Chargers last time out and they currently sit third in the NFC North with a mediocre record of 4-6. In terms of my Prediction, I firmly believe The Lions will win this game. Detroit are a much better side than Green Bay and they really shouldn’t slip up here.

(4-7) Washington Commanders @ Dallas Cowboys (7-3)

The Dallas Cowboys comfortably won in Carolina last weekend and they currently sit second in the NFC East with a decent 7-3 record. As for Washington, they suffered a really poor defeat at home to the New York Giants last time out and they are currently third in the NFC East with a slightly disappointing 4-7 record. In terms of my Prediction, I fully expect The Cowboys to win this game. Dallas should be way too good for Washington to handle.

(7-3) San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks (6-4)

In the third and final “Thanksgiving Night Football” clash, the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers in a big NFC West matchup. The Seattle Seahawks suffered a really disappointing defeat at home to the Los Angeles Rams last week and they currently sit second in the NFC West with a decent 6-4 record. As for San Francisco, they breezed past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last time out and they currently lead the NFC West with a good 7-3 record. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to just about go with The 49ers. The reason for this is because San Fran are playing really well right now and they tend to do very well against teams in their Division. However, having said that, it’s never easy to go to Lumen Field and win.

(7-3) Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets (4-6)

The New York Jets were thrashed by the Buffalo Bills in Week 11 and they enter this weekend third in the AFC East with a disappointing 4-6 record. As for Miami, they beat the Las Vegas Raiders last time out and they currently lead the AFC East with a good record of 7-3. In terms of my Prediction, I expect The Dolphins to win this game. Miami are very good against teams that aren’t as good as them, and right now, The Jets are definitely in that category.

(5-5) New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons (4-6)

The Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints in a really important NFC South matchup. The Atlanta Falcons enter this game off the back of 3 losses and a Bye and they currently sit second in the NFC South with a mediocre 4-6 record. As for New Orleans, they are also entering Week 12 off the back of their Bye and they currently lead the NFC South at .500. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to back The Saints. It’s not an easy decision, but Atlanta have looked pretty terrible recently.

(6-4) Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals (5-5)

The Cincinnati Bengals suffered a heavily impactful defeat in Baltimore in last week’s Thursday Night Football clash and they currently find themselves bottom of the AFC North at .500. As for Pittsburgh, they lost 13-10 at the Cleveland Browns last time out and they currently sit third in the AFC North with a decent 6-4 record. In terms of my Prediction, I’ve got to go with The Steelers. This is a massive game for both sides, but the fact that Joe Burrow is out for the rest of the season has me very worried from a Cincinnati Bengals point of view.

(1-9) Carolina Panthers @ Tennessee Titans (3-7)

The Tennessee Titans lost for the third straight game last time out (in Jacksonville) and they currently sit bottom of the AFC South with a poor 3-7 record. As for Carolina, they got stuffed by the Dallas Cowboys last weekend and they are currently bottom of the NFC South with a horrendous 1-9 record. In terms of my Prediction, surely The Titans are going to win this game? If they don’t, I’d be very worried about the future of that organisation.

(4-6) Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Indianapolis Colts (5-5)

The Indianapolis Colts enter this weekend off the back of 2 wins and a Bye and they currently sit third in the AFC South with a decent 5-5 record. As for Tampa Bay, they lost at The 49ers last time out and they are currently third in the NFC South with a sub-par record of 4-6. In terms of my Prediction, I’m going to back The Colts. In fairness to Indianapolis, they’re playing decent-to-good Football at the moment and I think that can and will continue.
