2023/24 UEFA Champions League Preview: Last 16, Leg 2

Bayern Munich VS Lazio

Lazio go to Bayern Munich holding a slim 1-0 aggregate advantage. Bayern Munich are coming into this game off the back of a 2-2 draw at Freiburg and they are currently second in the Bundesliga. When it comes to Lazio, they enter this game off the back of a 1-0 loss at home to AC Milan and they currently sit 9th in Serie A. Overall, you’d expect Bayern Munich to overturn their First Leg deficit here, but you also can’t rule Lazio out.

My Prediction: 3-1 (Bayern Win 3-2 on Aggregate)

Real Sociedad VS PSG

Real Sociedad are going to have to be at their best if they want to overturn their 2-goal deficit. Real Sociedad are coming into this game off the back of a 3-2 loss at Sevilla and they currently sit 7th in LaLiga. When it comes to PSG, they enter this game off the back of a 0-0 draw at Monaco and they are currently top of Ligue 1. Overall, I think Real Sociedad will give this a good go, but I’d honestly be surprised if they were actually able to win the tie.

My Prediction: 2-2 (PSG Win 4-2 on Aggregate)

Manchester City VS FC Kobenhavn

It’s very much advantage Manchester City heading into the Second Leg showdown. Manchester City are coming into this game off the back of a 3-1 win over Local Rivals Manchester United and they are currently second in the league. When it comes to FC Kobenhavn, they enter this game off the back of a 2-0 loss at Midtjylland and they currently sit third in the Danish Superliga. Overall, I fully expect Manchester City to win this game.

My Prediction: 2-1 (City Win 5-2 on Aggregate)

Real Madrid VS RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig will need the performance of their lives to knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League. Real Madrid are coming into this game off the back of a 2-all draw with Valencia and they are currently top of LaLiga. When it comes to RB Leipzig, they enter this game off the back of a 4-1 win at VfL Bochum and they currently sit 5th in the Bundesliga. With a 1-0 advantage heading into this game, I’d be very surprised if Real Madrid were dumped out of the competition on Wednesday!

My Prediction: 2-0 (Madrid Win 3-0 on Aggregate)

Arsenal VS FC Porto

Arsenal host FC Porto at the Emirates knowing they have some work to do. Arsenal have to play both Sheffield United and Brentford before this game and they are currently third in the Premier League. When it comes to FC Porto, they have Portimonense before this fixture and they currently sit third in Liga Portugal. Overall, FC Porto did what they needed to do in Leg 1, but I still expect Arsenal to come back and win this tie.

My Prediction: 4-1 (Arsenal Win 4-2 on Aggregate)

FC Barcelona VS Napoli

It’s all even between FC Barcelona and Napoli heading into an important Second Leg. FC Barcelona have to play Mallorca before this game and they are currently third in LaLiga. When it comes to Napoli, they face Torino before this match and they currently sit 7th in Serie A. Overall, I’m excited for this game as either team could come away with the victory. However, I am ultimately going to back FC Barcelona.

My Prediction: 2-1 AET (Barcelona Win 3-2 on Aggregate)

Atletico Madrid VS Inter Milan

Inter Milan head to the Metropolitano with a slim 1-0 lead to defend. Atletico Madrid have to play Cadiz before this game and they currently sit 4th in LaLiga. When it comes to Inter Milan, they face both Genoa and Bologna before this game and they are currently top of Serie A. Overall, this is another exciting game, but given Inter Milan’s form this year and their defence, I just have to back them!

My Prediction: 0-0 (Inter Win 1-0 on Aggregate)

Borussia Dortmund VS PSV Eindhoven

It’s all square between Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven heading into the Signal Iduna Park. Borussia Dortmund have to play Werder Bremen before this game and they currently sit 4th in the Bundesliga. When it comes to PSV Eindhoven, they play the Go Ahead Eagles before this match and they are currently top of the league. Overall, this is a tough game to call as Borussia Dortmund are a pretty strong team at home, but PSV Eindhoven have only lost 4 times since the 2022 FIFA World Cup! In the end, I’m going to back PSV to win on penalties!

My Prediction: 1-1 (2-2 on Aggregate, PSV win on Penalties)
