Tottenham 2-1 Burnley
A home victory for Tottenham Hotspur sealed Relegation for Burnley! Guglielmo Vicario pulled out a great save to keep the game at 0-0 before Arijanet Muric made a good save to deny Brennan Johnson. In the 25th minute, it was Burnley who took the lead as Jacob Bruun Larsen scored with a calm finish! 7 minutes later though and Tottenham were level through Pedro Porro! Porro struck this ball so well, but I do wonder if Muric could’ve done better! Brennan Johnson then came close to giving Spurs the lead as he hit the side-netting before Muric pulled out a big save to deny James Maddison! Johnson then missed from about 2 yards out (I don’t know how he missed) before Tottenham finally had the lead in the 82nd minute through Micky van de Ven. This was a great finish! Overall, it’s a win that keeps Tottenham Hotspur in with a small chance of qualifying for next year’s UEFA Champions League. Spurs remain 5th in the league and they host Manchester City tonight before they go to Sheffield United on Sunday. As for Burnley, it’s all over for them now! Burnley stay inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th) and they host Nottingham Forest on the final day!
West Ham 3-1 Luton
West Ham United picked up a victory in David Moyes’ final home game in charge to all but seal Luton Town’s fate! After just 6 minutes, it was Luton who took the lead as Albert Sambi Lokonga headed home well after a nice ball in from Alfie Doughty. Mohammed Kudus then had a decent chance which he dragged wide before Jarrod Bowen hit the post! 9 minutes into the Second Half though and West Ham were level through James Ward-Prowse! Bowen then had another good chance which he hit the side-netting with before the hosts had the lead in the 65th minute courtesy of a Tomas Soucek volley! And in the 76th minute, West Ham’s victory was secured as George Earthy scored his first-ever Premier League goal! Overall, it’s a positive last home game at West Ham for David Moyes! The Hammers remain 9th in the league and they go to Manchester City on the final day! As for Luton Town, it’s basically over for them now! The Hatters stay inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th place) and their final league game sees them host Fulham.
Fulham 0-4 Manchester City
Manchester City’s march to their 4th-straight Title continued with a thumping over Fulham! After 13 minutes, Manchester City had the lead as Josko Gvardiol found the back of the net with a great finish! Manuel Akanji then had a great chance which he poorly put high and wide before Man City’s lead doubled courtesy of Phil Foden! Erling Haaland then had a great opportunity which he fluffed his lines with before the visitors’ lead stretched to 3 as Josko Gvardiol (somehow) scored again! City were then awarded a penalty in additional time which ultimately saw Issa Diop receive a second Yellow card, and it was Julian Alvarez who stepped up and scored to seal a massive 3 points for the Champions! In the end, this was a bad day for Fulham! The Cottagers drop to 14th in the table and they go to Luton next time out! As for Manchester City, 2 wins separate them from a 4th-successive Title now! City remain second in the league and they take on Tottenham in a huge game tonight before they host West Ham on Sunday!
Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal kept their Title chances more than alive with an important win at Manchester United! Rasmus Hojlund had a really good opportunity which he made a mess of before Arsenal took the lead in the 20th minute through Leandro Trossard. Manchester United were then asking for a penalty which was rightly blown away before Alejandro Garnacho had a decent chance which he could only hit the side-netting with! Andre Onana then pulled out a good save to deny Gabriel Martinelli from making it 2-0 before Onana made another good double save! In the end, Manchester United didn’t do nearly enough to get anything from this game! United stay 8th in the table and they have to face both Newcastle and Brighton in the final week of the season! As for Arsenal, they got the win and that’s all that matters! The Gunners remain top of the league and they host Everton on the final day!
Nottingham Forest 2-3 Chelsea
Chelsea came from behind to pick up an important 3 points in their pursuit of European Football! After just 8 minutes, Chelsea had the lead as Mykhaylo Mudryk scored after a great pass by Cole Palmer! This was a wonderful team goal! Just 8 minutes later though and Nottingham Forest were level through Willy Boly! This was not wonderful from a Chelsea perspective! In the Second Half, Ryan Yates hit the post for the hosts before Morgan Gibbs-White hit the post and Chris Wood somehow missed on the rebound! How Forest didn’t score here is beyond me! Anyway, Thiago Silva then hit the post for Chelsea before Callum Hudson-Odoi hit the crossbar! Finally, in the 74th minute, Nottingham Forest did have the lead as Callum Hudson-Odoi finished well to score against his former club! However, just 6 minutes later and Raheem Sterling scored well to make it 2-2 before Nicolas Jackson found the back of the net just 2 minutes later to pull off a massive turnaround for Chelsea! I have absolutely no idea what Matz Sels was doing here! In the end, it’s defeat for Nottingham Forest, but it was still a pretty good weekend for them! Forest remain 17th in the table and they end their season away at Burnley. As for Chelsea, this is an important win for them! The Blues stay 7th in the league and they go to Brighton tomorrow before they host Bournemouth on Sunday.
Aston Villa 3-3 Liverpool
Aston Villa came from 2-goals back to draw with Liverpool in an exciting matchup! After just 2 minutes, Liverpool had the lead as Emiliano Martinez scored a rather horrible own goal! 10 minutes later though and Aston Villa were level through a great Youri Tielemans strike! Liverpool were then back in front 11 minutes later through Cody Gakpo, and I once again have to question why VAR exists! Anyway, Diego Carlos then missed from about 2 yards out and cost teammate Ollie Watkins a goal in the process before Moussa Diaby poorly blasted the ball well over the bar when he probably should’ve scored! 3 minutes into the Second Half and Liverpool had a 2-goal cushion as Jarell Quansah got up well to head home from close range! Ollie Watkins then had a goal ruled out for offside before Jhon Duran got one back for Villa after a poor mistake by Alexis Mac Allister. And then, just 3 minutes later, Jhon Duran scored again in the 88th minute to rescue a point for the hosts! In the end, it’s a decent result for Aston Villa! Villa remain 4th in the table and they end their season with an away trip to Crystal Palace. As for Liverpool, they’ll be really frustrated to let this lead slip away. The Reds stay third in the table and Jurgen Klopp’s last game in charge will take place against Wolves on Sunday.
Newcastle 1-1 Brighton
After 18 minutes, it was Brighton who took the lead as Joel Veltman found the back of the net from close range! Sean Longstaff then had a great opportunity which he saw saved by Bart Verbruggen before Julio Enciso had a great chance which he poorly headed over. In the 5th minute of additional time at the end of the First Half, Newcastle were level as Sean Longstaff finished off what was a really nicely worked team goal! In the Second Half, Harvey Barnes had a really good opportunity which he blasted high and wide before Newcastle thought they’d taken the lead, but it was ruled out for offside. In the end, it’s an okay point for Newcastle United, but they would’ve expected themselves to win this game. The Magpies remain 6th in the league and they have to play away at both Manchester United and Brentford in the final week of the season. As for Brighton and Hove Albion, this is a decent result for them. The Seagulls rise to 10th in the table and they host both Chelsea and Manchester United to end the season.
Wolves 1-3 Crystal Palace
Michael Olise had a really good chance early on which he poorly dragged wide before Olise made up for it with a great goal to give Crystal Palace the lead after 26! Just 2 minutes later and Palace’s lead doubled as Jean-Philippe Mateta tapped home on the rebound (after Nathaniel Clyne hit the post). Matt Doherty then hit the crossbar for Wolves before the hosts got one back in the 66th minute through Matheus Cunha. However, just 7 minutes later and it was 3-1 to Crystal Palace as Eberechi Eze finished coolly! Wolves were then awarded a penalty and Naouirou Ahamada was shown a second Yellow, but VAR changed it to a free-kick (which was the right decision). In the end, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been absolutely atrocious these past couple of months! Wolves drop to 13th in the table and they end their season with an away trip to Liverpool. As for Crystal Palace, they don’t want the season to end! The Eagles rise to 12th in the league and they host Aston Villa on the final day.
Bournemouth 1-2 Brentford
After 27 minutes, Bournemouth thought they’d taken the lead through Dominic Solanke, but it was ruled out for a handball earlier in the build-up. This is harsh, but I do think it was the right decision! Solanke then found the back of the net again, and this was also ruled out for a foul on Nathan Collins, and I’m sorry, but in no way is this a foul! Anyway, Brentford were then given a penalty after Ivan Toney was taken out from behind, but that too was overturned by VAR. For me, you have to stick with the on-field decision here! Finally, in the 86th minute, Brentford had the lead as Bryan Mbeumo scored after a great assist from Yoane Wissa. Just 3 minutes later though and Bournemouth were level through Dominic Solanke before Yoane Wissa scored in the 95th minute to edge out the win for the visitors! In the end, it’s a disappointing last home game for AFC Bournemouth! The Cherries drop to 11th in the league and they go to Chelsea on the final day. As for Brentford, what a great win for them! The Bees remain 16th in the table and they face Newcastle in their final game.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield United
Abdoulaye Doucoure had a good chance which was saved by Wesley Foderingham before Everton did have the lead in the 31st minute as Doucoure did manage to get his goal! In the Second Half, Youssef Chermiti had a half-chance, but he blasted it wide! Overall, it’s another home win and clean sheet for Everton! The Toffees stay 15th in the table and they end their season away at Arsenal. As for Sheffield United, 1-0 isn’t too bad for them! The Blades remain bottom of the league and they host Tottenham on the final day!
