Crystal Palace 5-2 West Ham
Crystal Palace pulled out a mega result to smash West Ham United at Selhurst Park. After just 7 minutes, Crystal Palace had the lead as Michael Olise scored after some questionable goalkeeping by Lukasz Fabianski. In the 16th minute, Palace’s lead doubled as Eberechi Eze scored with an acrobatic strike after Fabianski’s initial save. 4 minutes later and it was 3-0 as Emerson put the ball into the back of his own net before Jean-Philippe Mateta made it 4-0 to Crystal Palace after just 31 minutes on the clock! Michail Antonio was able to get one back for West Ham in the 40th minute (Dean Henderson should’ve done better) before Mateta scored again to make it 5-1 after 64! Eze’s pass here is superb! In the 89th minute, West Ham were handed one goal back as Dean Henderson scored an own goal after yet another schoolboy error (there’s been loads of them in the league recently). Overall, what a brilliant day for Crystal Palace. The Eagles stay 14th in the table and their next game is against Newcastle on Wednesday. As for West Ham United, what a mess this was! The Hammers remain 8th in the league and they host Liverpool next time out.
Luton 1-5 Brentford
Brentford smashed Luton Town at Kenilworth Road to surely secure their Premier League safety for another season!? In the 24th minute, Brentford did take the lead thanks to a lovely strike from Yoane Wissa! Bryan Mbeumo then hit the crossbar before Brentford’s lead doubled just before Halftime as Wissa scored again! In the 62nd, it was 3-0 as Ethan Pinnock scored before Keane Lewis-Potter made it 4-0 to the visitors just 2 minutes later! In the 86th minute, Brentford had five as Kevin Schade scored before Luke Berry managed to grab a consolation goal for Luton in injury time. Brentford will be disappointed with the manner in which they conceded this goal! In the end, this was a complete mess from a Luton Town point of view! The Hatters remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th place) and they go to Wolves next time out. As for Brentford, this should be enough for them to secure safety! The Bees stay 15th in the table and their next game is away at Everton.
Sheffield United 1-4 Burnley
Burnley picked up a massive 3 points at Sheffield United to keep their Survival hopes alive. Ollie McBurnie had an unbelievable chance to give Sheffield United the lead, but he could only direct his shot straight at Arijanet Muric before Muric made another good save, this time to deny Ben Brereton Diaz. In the 38th minute, Burnley took the lead as Jacob Bruun Larsen scored after a significant deflection off Jayden Bogle. 2 minutes later and Burnley’s lead doubled as Lorenz Assignon scored after another deflection! In the Second Half, Muric made a good save to keep James McAtee’s effort out before Sheffield United had one back in the 52nd minute through Gustavo Hamer. However, just 6 minutes later and Burnley’s two-goal lead was restored as Lyle Foster finished off a really nice move before Johann Berg Gudmundsson made it 4-1 in the 71st minute to secure a big 3 points for the visitors! In the end, it’s looking all but over for Sheffield United now. The Blades remain bottom of the league and their next game is at Manchester United on Wednesday. As for Burnley, this was a much-needed win for them! The Clarets are still in the Relegation Zone (in 19th) and they go to Manchester United next time out!
Fulham 1-3 Liverpool
Liverpool picked up a much-needed win to keep themselves right in the Title fight! Luis Diaz had a great chance early on which he headed just wide before Liverpool had the lead in the 32nd courtesy of a lovely Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick! Bernd Leno then pulled out a decent save to keep Cody Gakpo’s effort out before Fulham struck back right on Halftime through Timothy Castagne. In the Second Half, Harvey Elliott had a decent chance which he made a mess of Liverpool retook the lead in the 53rd minute thanks to Ryan Gravenberch. And then, in the 72nd minute, Diogo Jota scored after some slightly questionable goalkeeping by Bernd Leno to secure the 3 points for the visitors. In the end, Fulham just didn’t do enough here. The Cottagers remain 12th in the table and they host Crystal Palace next time out. As for Liverpool, this is a good win for them! The Reds rise to second in the league and their next game is a huge one at Everton (on Wednesday).
Aston Villa 3-1 Bournemouth
Aston Villa came from behind to pick up an important 3 points at the expense of AFC Bournemouth. Dango Ouattara had a good chance for Bournemouth which he could only hit the side netting with before the visitors were awarded a penalty after Matty Cash took out Milos Kerkez. Dominic Solanke then stepped up and scored to give Bournemouth the lead after 31! Just before Halftime though and the game was all square thanks to a really nice goal from Morgan Rogers. In the 57th minute, Aston Villa had the lead as Moussa Diaby scored after a nice pass from Ollie Watkins before Leon Bailey scored after another assist from Watkins to wrap up the victory for Villa in the 78th! Overall, it’s another good win for Aston Villa! Villa remain 4th in the league and they host Chelsea on Saturday! As for AFC Bournemouth, their European hopes are pretty much over now! The Cherries stay 13th in the table and they go to Wolves next time out (on Wednesday).
Wolves 0-2 Arsenal
Arsenal picked up an important 3 points away at Wolverhampton Wanderers to move back to being Top of the League! Arsenal had a couple of decent chances early on which they failed to take before David Raya did a good job to push Joao Gomes’ effort onto the post. Right on Halftime and Arsenal had the lead as Leandro Trossard’s effort hit the post and went in! And in the 95th minute, Arsenal had a second as Martin Odegaard scored after some questionable goalkeeping by Jose Sa. In the end, Wolverhampton Wanderers are just praying for the season to end now! Wolves remain 11th in the table and they host Bournemouth next time out. As for Arsenal, they got the win and that’s all that matters! The Gunners are now top of the league and they face Chelsea in a big game tomorrow.
Everton 2-0 Nottingham Forest
Everton picked up a massive 3 points to help their Survival chances at the expense of an agitated Nottingham Forest. Nottingham Forest wanted a penalty early on after Ashley Young caught the foot of Giovanni Reyna. Young definitely made contact with Reyna here, so it’s a close one! In the 29th minute, Everton had the lead as Idrissa Gana Gueye scored with a really good and accurate strike! Jordan Pickford then pulled out a pretty good save to deny Chris Wood before Forest wanted another penalty after the ball struck the arm of Ashley Young! This was definitely a penalty! In the Second Half, Ashley Young wiped out Callum Hudson-Odoi, but this too wasn’t given as a penalty! This is a bit of a joke now! Morgan Gibbs-White then had a really good chance which he put wide before Dwight McNeil made it 2-0 to Everton with a similar strike to Gueye’s earlier goal! Overall, this is an important win for Everton, but they were definitely fortunate! The Toffees remain 16th in the league and they host Rivals Liverpool on Wednesday. As for Nottingham Forest, they have a right to feel hard done by here! Forest stay 17th in the table and they host Manchester City in a big game next time out.
