Crystal Palace 2-4 Manchester City
A Kevin De Bruyne masterclass helped Manchester City to a key 3 points against Crystal Palace. After John Stones poorly gave the ball away, Crystal Palace punished their opponents massively as Jean-Philippe Mateta scored to give Palace the lead inside 3 minutes! 10 minutes later though and it was all square thanks to a fantastic strike from Kevin De Bruyne. Proper top bins! Dean Henderson was then able to deny Erling Haaland with a good save before Jordan Ayew smashed the crossbar after Rodri initially lost the ball. Stefan Ortega then showed an amazing piece of footwork to save Rodri from what was another poor error before Palace wanted a penalty against Josko Gvardiol. It was certainly a close call! Two minutes into the Second Half and Manchester City did have the lead courtesy of Rico Lewis. In the 66th minute, Man City had their third as Erling Haaland got on the act before Kevin De Bruyne scored another great goal to make it 4-1 City after 70! Crystal Palace were still able to get one back though as Odsonne Edouard scored in the 86th minute. In the end, Crystal Palace can’t be too annoyed about this result. The Eagles stay 14th in the table and they go to Liverpool next time out. As for Manchester City, this could prove to be an important performance and win for them. City remain third in the league and they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League tonight followed by Luton at home on Saturday.
Aston Villa 3-3 Brentford
Bryan Mbeumo came within a whisker of giving Brentford the lead from a free-kick, but it was Aston Villa who were able to score the first goal as Ollie Watkins headed home after a lovely ball in from John McGinn. Less than a minute into the Second Half and it was 2-0 Aston Villa as Morgan Rogers scored a really nice goal after showing great composure. Brentford were able to get one back in the 59th minute through Mathias Jorgensen (this is honestly such a bizarre goal) before Bryan Mbeumo fired the visitor's level just 2 minutes later! In the 68th minute, Brentford had the lead as Yoane Wissa tapped home from close range to complete an unbelievable turnaround! However, in the 80th minute, Aston Villa would get their equaliser as Ollie Watkins headed home yet again! In the end, Aston Villa will be very disappointed this with result. Villa drop to 5th in the league and they take on Lille in the Europa Conference League on Thursday followed by a massive away trip to Arsenal! As for Brentford, they’ll have mixed feelings about this result. The Bees remain 15th in the table and they host Sheffield United next time out.
Tottenham 3-1 Nottingham Forest
After Murillo nearly scored from about 65 yards out, he ultimately put the ball into the back of his own net to give Tottenham the lead inside 15 minutes! Matz Sels then made a great save to deny Brennan Johnson from making it 2-0 before Nottingham Forest were level in the 27th minute thanks to Chris Wood. Chris Wood then had a golden chance to put Forest in front, but he somehow managed to smash the ball onto the post and I’ll be honest, this is one of the worst misses I’ve seen in a while! In the 52nd minute, Tottenham were back in front as Micky van de Ven smashed the ball into the back of the net! 6 minutes later and Spurs had their third of the game thanks to a strong Pedro Porro strike! Overall, this has been a good weekend for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs rise to 4th in the league and their next game is a big one at Newcastle. As for Nottingham Forest, Chris Wood scores a second and this game could’ve been very different! Forest remain 17th in the table and they host Wolves next time out.
Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Manchester United managed to pick up a point as Liverpool dropped two in the process. Andre Onana pulled off a really good save to deny Dominik Szoboszlai from giving Liverpool the lead before Szoboszlai had another great chance which he made an absolute mess of. In the 23rd minute, Liverpool did have the lead thanks to Luis Diaz. 5 minutes into the Second Half, and after a terrible pass from Jareli Quansah, Bruno Fernandes scored a quite ridiculous goal to level the game up at 1-1. Darwin Nunez then had a great chance which he made a complete mess of before Manchester United took the lead in the 67th minute courtesy of a superb Kobbie Mainoo strike! Mohamed Salah then smashed a sitter high and wide before Liverpool were given a penalty after Aaron Wan-Bissaka stupidly brought down Harvey Elliott. Mo Salah then stepped up and scored to make it Manchester United 2, Liverpool 2. In the end, Manchester United will be happy with a point from this game. United remain 6th in the table and they go to Bournemouth next time out. As for Liverpool, this is a really disappointing result for them. The Reds drop to second in the league and they take on both Atalanta and Crystal Palace in the next week.
Sheffield United 2-2 Chelsea
A late goal was enough for Sheffield United to pick up a positive point at the expense of Chelsea. Just 11 minutes into the game and Chelsea had the lead through a calm Thiago Silva finish. In the 32nd minute, Sheffield United were level as Jayden Bogle scored after some questionable goalkeeping by Djordje Petrovic. In the Second Half, Ollie McBurnie had a good chance which he headed wide before Jack Robinson pulled out a horrible-looking tackle on Cole Palmer. To be honest, I think Robinson should’ve been sent off. In the 66th minute, Chelsea were back in front thanks to a nice strike by Noni Madueke. And then, in the 93rd minute, Ollie McBurnie finished off to earn Sheffield United a massive point! In the end, this could be a big result for Sheffield United. The Blades remain bottom of the league and they go to Brentford next time out. As for Chelsea, this is so disappointing for them! The Blues climb to 9th in the league and they take on Everton next Monday.
Brighton 0-3 Arsenal
Arsenal moved back to the top with a comfortable victory away at Brighton and Hove Albion. Gabriel had a great opportunity to give Arsenal the lead which he poorly put wide before Bukayo Saka had a good chance of his own which he also put wide. Gabriel Jesus then had a great chance which he made a complete mess of before Arsenal were awarded a penalty after Tariq Lamptey clipped Jesus. For me, this isn’t a penalty as Lamptey clearly gets the ball! Anyway, Bukayo Saka stepped up and scored to give Arsenal the lead after 33 minutes. In the 62nd minute, Arsenal had their second of the game as Kai Havertz tapped home after some woeful bit of play by Julio Enciso. And after another mistake by Brighton, Leandro Trossard showed real composure to score against his old club and make it 3-0 to the visitors. In the end, Brighton and Hove Albion are all over the place at the minute. The Seagulls drop to 10th in the table and they go to Burnley next time out. As for Arsenal, this is another great win for them. The Gunners return back to the top of the league and they take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight before they host Aston Villa in a big game on Sunday.
Wolves 1-2 West Ham
After Nelson Semedo poorly gave the ball away, Tomas Soucek had a great chance to give West Ham the lead, but he just couldn’t get the shot away. Wolves were then awarded a penalty after Emerson fouled Rayan Ait Nouri, and it was Pablo Sarabia who stepped up and scored to give Wolves the lead in the 33rd minute. Sarabia’s penalty is superb! Emerson then thought he’d equalised for West Ham, but his goal was ruled out for a foul in the build-up before the visitors were awarded a penalty after a handball by Max Kilman. What on earth were Wolves doing here?! Anyway, Lucas Paqueta stepped up and scored with an equally great penalty to make it 1-1 after 72! In the 84th minute, West Ham had the lead as James Ward-Prowse scored directly from a corner! And then, in the 99th minute, Max Kilman thought he’d equalised for Wolves, but his goal was ruled out for offside. I’m sorry, but this might be one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen (and that’s saying something given some of the stuff that’s happened this year)! In the end, how Wolverhampton Wanderers haven’t won this game is a mystery! Wolves stay 11th in the table and they go to Nottingham Forest next time out. As for West Ham United, they got away with one here! The Hammers remain 7th in the league and they go to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on Thursday followed by a home game against Fulham on Sunday.
Luton 2-1 Bournemouth
Luton left it late to pick up a massive 3 points at the expense of AFC Bournemouth. Marcus Tavernier managed to smash the woodwork with a really good free-kick effort before Justin Kluivert hit the post. In the Second Half, Neto was able to pull out a good save to deny Carlton Morris from giving Luton the lead before Bournemouth had the lead courtesy of Marcus Tavernier. This is a really good strike from Tavernier! Morris then hit the post for the hosts before Jordan Clark equalised for Luton in the 73rd minute. And then, in the 90th minute, Carlton Morris finally finished off a chance to earn a massive 3 points in Luton’s fight for Survival! Overall, this could prove pivotal in the season of Luton Town! The Hatters remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th) and their next game is away at Manchester City. As for AFC Bournemouth, they’ll be kicking themselves here! The Cherries stay 12th in the league and they host Manchester United next time out.
Everton 1-0 Burnley
Everton managed to pick up a massive 3 points as Burnley’s Survival hopes took a big hit! David Datro Fofana had a decent opportunity for Burnley which he headed straight into the arms of Jordan Pickford before Everton took the lead right on Halftime through Dominic Calvert-Lewin after a horrible error by Arijanet Muric. What is it with these poor teams making stupid errors like this?! Muric then made a good save to deny Calvert-Lewin a second before Dara O’Shea was given a straight Red card after wiping out Dwight McNeil. Beto was then asking for a penalty, but I personally felt he went down to easily before Everton really should’ve had a penalty after Jay Rodriguez clipped James Garner. In the end, it’s a win for Everton and that’s all that matters! The Toffees stay 16th in the table and they go to Chelsea next time out. As for Burnley, what were they doing here? The Clarets remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th) and their next game is a big one at home to Brighton.
Fulham 0-1 Newcastle
Andreas Pereira had a decent chance which he failed to get a proper connection on before Anthony Gordon came within a whisker of firing Newcastle in front. Rodrigo Muniz then had a decent chance which he fired straight at Martin Dubravka before Dubravka pulled out another decent stop to push Pereira’s effort away. Fabian Schar then had a goal ruled for a foul in the build-up before Newcastle did have their lead in the 81st minute courtesy of Bruno Guimaraes. In the end, it’s another defeat for Fulham. The Cottagers stay 13th in the table and they go to London Rivals West Ham next time out. As for Newcastle United, this is a good win for them. The Magpies remain 8th in the league and their next game is a big one at home to Tottenham.
