2023/24 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 35

West Ham VS Liverpool

West Ham host Liverpool in a massive game for both sides! West Ham got smashed 5-2 by Crystal Palace on Wednesday and they currently sit 8th in the table. When it comes to Liverpool, they suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss at Everton last time out and they are currently third in the league. In their previous 28 meetings, West Ham have won 6 games whilst Liverpool have won triple that! For West Ham United, they really need a win. The Hammers are ranked 8th in GPG (1.6) and they’re currently on a 4-game winless run in all competitions (1D,3L). As for Liverpool, they have to win every game from now until the end of the season. The Reds are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.2) and they currently have the 3rd-best away record in the league.

My Prediction: 1-3



Fulham VS Crystal Palace

Fulham lost 3-1 at home to Liverpool last time out and they are currently 13th in the league. When it comes to Crystal Palace, they picked up a really good 2-0 win against Newcastle midweek and they currently sit 14th in the table. In their previous 9 meetings, Fulham have won twice whilst Palace have won 3 times. For Fulham, they need to take advantage of being the home side. The Cottagers are ranked 12th in GPG (1.5) and they currently have the 8th-best home record in the league. As for Crystal Palace, they’re hoping to keep their good run of form going! The Eagles are ranked 16th in GPG (1.3) and they’re currently on a 3-game winning run.

Manchester United VS Burnley

Manchester United managed to beat Sheffield United 4-2 midweek and they are currently 6th in the league. When it comes to Burnley, they thrashed Sheffield United 4-1 last time out and they are currently inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th), just 3 points off safety. In their previous 16 meetings, Man United have won 10 games whilst Burnley have only won once! For Manchester United, they should absolutely win this game. United are ranked 11th in GPG (1.5) and they currently have the 7th-best home record in the league. As for Burnley, any point here could be crucial for their survival chances! The Clarets are ranked 18th in both GPG (1.1) and GCPG (2.0).

Newcastle VS Sheffield United

Sheffield United know that a loss at Newcastle would result in their Relegation back to the Championship. Newcastle suffered a really disappointing 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace midweek and they currently sit 7th in the table. When it comes to Sheffield United, they lost 4-2 at Manchester United last time out and they are currently bottom of the league, some 10 points off safety. In their previous 5 meetings, Newcastle have won 4 games compared to Sheffield U’s 1. Newcastle won the reverse fixture back in September 8-0! For Newcastle United, they should win this game. The Magpies are ranked 5th in GPG (2.1) and they also currently have the 5th-best home record in the league. As for Sheffield United, it’s truly now or never for them! The Blades are ranked 20th in GPG (1.0) and they currently have the worst away record in the league.

Wolves VS Luton

Wolves lost 1-0 at home to Bournemouth midweek and they currently sit 12th in the table. When it comes to Luton, they got smashed 5-1 by Brentford last time out and they currently find themselves in 18th place, just 1 point off safety. In their previous 2 meetings, Wolves haven’t won whilst Luton have won once. Wolves’ last win over Luton came all the way back in 2007 (2-3 in the Championship). For Wolverhampton Wanderers, can they finally get back to winning ways? Wolves are ranked 15th in GPG (1.4) and they’re currently on a 7-game winless run in all competitions (2D,5L). As for Luton Town, they need to pick up a result here. The Hatters are ranked 14th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the second-worst away record in the league.

Everton VS Brentford

Everton picked up a great 2-0 win over Liverpool in their last game and they currently sit 16th in the table. When it comes to Brentford, they smashed Luton 5-1 last time out and they are currently 15th in the league. In their previous 7 meetings, Everton have won 3 games compared to Brentford’s 2. For Everton, win this and they are pretty much guaranteed safety for another year. The Toffees are ranked 19th in GPG (1.1) and they currently have the 15th-best home record in the league. As for Brentford, they are all but safe now! The Bees are ranked 10th in GPG (1.5) and they’re currently on a 5-game unbeaten run (2W,3D).

Aston Villa VS Chelsea

In TNT Sports’ second game of the day, Aston Villa host Chelsea at Villa Park. Aston Villa enter this game off the back of a 3-1 win over Bournemouth and they are currently 4th in the league. When it comes to Chelsea, they got smashed 5-0 by Arsenal last time out and they currently sit 9th in the table. In their previous 24 meetings, Villa have won 5 games compared to Chelsea’s 14. For Aston Villa, they’ve just got to keep winning! Villa are ranked 4th in GPG (2.1) and they also currently have the 4th-best home record in the league. As for Chelsea, this is a big test for them. The Blues are ranked 7th in GPG (1.9) and they currently have the 10th-best away record in the league.

Bournemouth VS Brighton

Bournemouth picked up a good 1-0 win at Wolves midweek and they are currently 10th in the league. When it comes to Brighton, they got smashed 4-0 by Manchester City last night and they currently sit 11th in the table. In their previous 17 meetings, Bournemouth have won 8 times whilst Brighton have won 5 times. For AFC Bournemouth, they’re genuinely in a good position to finish inside the Top 10. The Cherries are ranked 13th in GPG (1.4) and they currently have the 12th-best home record in the league. As for Brighton and Hove Albion, they need to find a win from somewhere. The Seagulls are ranked 9th in GPG (1.6) and they’re currently on a 5-game winless run (2D,3L).

Tottenham VS Arsenal

Tottenham host Arsenal in a massive London Derby! Tottenham got smashed 4-0 by Newcastle some two weeks ago and they currently sit 5th in the table. When it comes to Arsenal, they stuffed Chelsea 5-0 last time out and they are currently top of the league. In their previous 31 meetings, Spurs have won 10 games compared to 13 wins for Arsenal. For Tottenham Hotspur, they’ll be properly up for this one! Spurs are ranked 6th in GPG (2.0) and they also currently have the 6th-best home record in the league. As for Arsenal, they have to win this game. The Gunners are ranked 1st in GPG (2.4) and they currently have the best away record in the league.

Nottingham Forest VS Manchester City

And in the second half of Super Sunday, Nottingham Forest host Manchester City in a big game for both sides. Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 at Everton last time out and they currently sit 17th in the table, just 1 point above the Relegation Zone. As for Manchester City, they thrashed Brighton 4-0 last night and they are currently second in the league with a game in hand. In their previous 3 meetings, Forest haven’t won whilst Man City have won twice. Forest’s last win over City was all the way back in 2009 (0-3 in the FA Cup). For Nottingham Forest, they need to start picking up results and fast! Forest are ranked 17th in GPG (1.2) and they currently have the 4th-worst home record in the league. As for Manchester City, they just have to keep winning Football matches! City are ranked 2nd in GPG (2.4) and they’re currently on a 30-game unbeaten run in all competitions (24W,6D).
